A list of puns related to "List of extinct cetaceans"
Hey Reddit, My name is Sean Bogle , and Iβm here with Matthew Podolsky. Weβre Conservation Filmmakers with the Nonprofit Organization Wild Lens INC. We recently completed work on our Documentary βSouls of the Vermilion Seaβ in order to understand why the Vaquita are going extinct. Feel free to view it through the avenues below

Vaquita, meaning small cow in Spanish, is the smallest of all cetacean species. It is a porpoise that is endemic to the northern portion of the Gulf of California, and it is currently the most endangered marine mammal on Earth. With less than 30 individuals remaining on the planet, this species is teetering on the brink of extinction. A Vaquita sanctuary was created within their range, however there have been very little to no attempts to protect it. The Vaquita is mainly threatened by the illegal trade in rare swim bladders run by Mexico's dangerous drug cartels.
Weβd like to get awareness of the issue out there, so feel free to ask us anything and everything to help spread the word. Weβre here with Leo Mercado who will also assist us with using reddit, and answering Questions.

I apologize if this isn't the right place, if that is so, place direct me to the right subreddit.
Thanks!
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 71%. (I'm a bot)
> The stark warnings came as WWF Germany released its "Winners and Losers of 2021," an annual list of animals whose existence is now acutely under threat - as well as conservation victories.
> It is the largest number of species to be included on the Red List since it was established in 1964, according to WWF Germany.
> WWF Germany director Eberhard Brandes said decisive environmental protection policies were urgently needed, particularly in the fight against climate change.
> Among the animals most acutely threatened - and among the "Losers" on this year's WWF list - are the African forest elephant, whose population has declined by 86% within just 31 years.
> The familiar green faces and loud summer chirping of Germany's tree frogs and toads are also under threat - with 50% of Germany's native amphibian species currently listed as endangered on the national Red List.
> The population of great bustards in Germany saw significant progress in 2021, with their population reaching the highest level in 40 years.

My first thought was pinnipeds and/or otters, then I realized they're just as threatened as cetaceans are.
Another possibility is birds, like penguins or auks, if they can figure out a way past the egg-laying dilemma. There's also crocodilians. (And given the very likely viviparous thalattosuchians from the Jurassic, it's possible that archosaurs, if not birds, can develop viviparity if needed.)
Anything else?
Iβm currently in college studying marine biology and I just wanted to meet people who are involved with cetaceans! My current involvement with them is preforming necropsies on ones that may wash up on the coast but when I graduate I want to work more with them (not like a trainer necessarily, just anything.)
