It’s obvious now that I’ve listened to it high and after a lot of thought. But the truth cannot be denied!
Girlfriend is a banger, a given I know, but it’s more than just that. It represents all the potential of pop punk since it first “started”. The attitude, snotty vocals, throbbing, overdriven picked bass lines, crushing guitar riffs, and killer drums.
And all summed up in one neat 3 minute and 36 second package.
Some will try and deny it, because she was a teen idol, cause she’s a girl, cause she was super popular, or cause a rapist helped make the instrumentals and drum beat for the song.
But nonetheless it remains a certified banger that can’t be denied. If she’s been some complete nobody playing live at some dive club and pulled out that song you’d have to pick your jaw off the floor.
It has everything a classic blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, or Taking Back Sunday song has....but better. With hooks and choruses I’m betting you each and every guy in those bands would have given their left nut for.
So....I’ve thrown down my gauntlet. I’m prepared for the downvotes!

Guys, I missed this type of musics these days.
So I was watching American Idol and my ears perked up when I heard this song playing in the background - Avril Lavigne's It Was In Me ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53KT5bCn8uA ). Never heard it before, but the part that caught me was at time mark 3:08 to 3:11. I've heard similar moments in other songs but I can't remember any of them, but these are the types of things I love listening to. Not sure what it's called exactly...a run? Maybe someone can educate me. Nevertheless, everytime I hear that part (I've been replaying this song over and over), it evokes some kind of emotion in me. The cry, the run, the reverb. Anyway, the point of this post was to maybe find some other songs that have a similar run/moment that you guys can share if you know any. Thank you in advance for reading and sharing!
I've encountered many people online that say Black Clover has the best openings of anything out right now, and I've encountered many people that have said that OP3 and OP4 made them watch the series. I just feel like Crunchyroll kind of cucked BC a little bit.

Might be they got the artist wrong, I've never heard this song before so...
Years ago I had a mashup of these two songs that was basically a parody of the similarities between these songs. First My Happy Ending would start playing on one channel, and then How You Remind Me would start playing on the other channel, and both songs would play simultaneously. And it would be both hilarious and epic how the songs mashed well!
For the life of me I can't find the song online! I've tried YouTube and Google search but no luck!
