People who are popular because of the characters they play in fictional stories are wholly unqualified to speak about anything. And in the rare event they are qualified, someone else is likely more qualified and would be a better source.
I'm not saying it would eliminate the problem of mannequin-like celebrities pretending they have brains, but it seems like it'd just be good journalism to acknowledge when this is happening:
"And now we're going to go to John Celebrity, who earned a GED from studio tutors on the set of the sitcom he appeared on as a kid. He's going to tell us all how to think about [insert important issue]."
1: Hurk. Need I say any more? 2: Longinus, since in 4 he said he was gonna go to Cuba. He would be an interesting specialist. 3:Yogi and or Reggie. These two, while maybe not the best at combat, could make for an interesting support specialist. Maybe randomly injecting you with different buffs and whatnot? 4: a cow companion. 5: Gulo. If you know, you know.
