Why is the Ali character so controversial when it comes to the karate kid universe?

To me they pretty much wrote her out of the story as a superficial cunt at the beginning of 2. Extreme character assassination aside, I’ve always felt it was a forced exit due to Elisabeth Shue not wanting to return or the producers not wanting her back, but the purpose of how it was handled was clear: “Don’t remember or miss her because you know Daniel sure as hell won’t”.

Adding to the fact that Daniel had a much more passionate love in 2 and proved he could get over it pretty quickly by 3, makes her returning really unnecessary unless its solely for Johnny’s perspective since he never grew up and seems more attached to his past.

Does anyone else think we will see more characters from the Karate Kid movies in season 3?

I’ve got a couple theories. Did anyone else wonder how the hell Kreese got the money to buy out Johnny out of nowhere? There’s no way he did this by himself after living in homeless shelters for 10+ years. Remember his buddy Terry Silver from the third movie? He co-founded Cobra Kai with him and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been working behind the scenes.

Also, whatever happened to Julie from the New Karate Kid? She was a student of Mr. Miyagi. What if her and Daniel cross paths and she reveals lessons and moral principles that she learned from Mr. Miyagi that Daniel didn’t learn? I know there hasn’t been much of a reason to hint she might make an appearance, but hey you never know.

Will Sam become the main character/Karate Kid?

Watched the series again this weekend with a friend who hadn’t seen it. He basically thinks that Sam will become Daniel’s main protégé, and Robby will become a beta character training along with her.

I really don’t want Sam to become the main character/hero of season 2.

Jaden Smith’s character got his butt kicked worse than Ralph Macchio’s character in The Karate Kid.

Jaden’s character being a 12 year old and beaten in public and in front of the girl he liked was worse than 17 year old Daniel Russo getting beat by the Skrulls.

The Karate Kid (2010) lies to its audience by not delivering the titular character Kaa (previously seen in the Jungle Book) "rotting" next to the kid, Jaden Smith. Some may assume the title actually meant the martial art "Kaa-rotty", but this is not true since they learn kung fu instead.

So the fact Ali can hospitalize and beat the holy loving shit and not take a single hit from a character who can pull any fighting abilities he needs out of his ass while Armorr can take on said character at his absolute strongest must mean their fighting skills are at a level anime and video game characters can't even fathom. So lets put these two to the test and see which duo can they beat.

(Spoilers/ Season 2 Predictions) Characters from other Karate Kid movies.

In many of the post that I have been able to browse, he digresses with the predictions or wishes for the second season. It is true that many of us have been impacted by the series and sincerely, wait almost a year to see the continuation, it will be an ordeal. The end has left us all crazy.

One of the most commented topics, and in my opinion wrong, is to relate characters from the Karate Kid movies with this story: Mike Barnes, Terry Silver, John Kreese, Hillary Swank, the son of Will Smith ..... To it would be a mistake for the directors to make the mistake of getting them all involved in the series. This is a story of Johnny vs. Daniel. What I do see fit is to rescue John Kreese, and to some extent Mike Barnes and Terry Silver. Without forgetting Alli, because it could give a lot of play. But from there to relate to these characters with the figure of Miguel (for example), I think a real nonsense. What do you think about it? What treatment would you like to have these characters if they are rescued in the Serie?
