A list of puns related to "Karate Kid (character)"
Mine would be:
As suggested by the post title, if Cobra Kai/Karate Kid ever did a crossover, which franchises would you want CK/KtK to meet, and which characters would you love to see throw down? How do you think it go?
For me, Iβm hoping these:
Jessica, Julie and Eric should try and help Daniel defeat Kreese, Silver and Cobra Kai. And then when Colonel Dugan comes back, Daniel and his family will assist Julie and Eric in fighting him.
Kreese and Terry Silver- themselves
Daniel-Silver+Mr Miyagi+Sato
Johnny- Mr Miyagi+ Sato+Kreese
Chozen-Mr Miyagi+Sato
Miguel-Daniel+Johnny+Bobby+Ali
Robby- Daniel+Johnny+Mike Barnes(S4)+Chozen(S4)
Sam- Daniel+Ali+Julie+Kumiko
Hawk- Dutch+Johnny+Daniel
Demetri-Daniel
Yasmine(S3)- Jessica
Moon-Kumiko
Rickenberger-Snake( kk3)
Shawn-Jimmy
Aisha-Julie
Brucks-Snake
Mikey-Dennis

Nate-Daniel
Mitch-Jimmy
Chris-Bobby
Tory-Mike+Dutch+Julie+Johnny
Carmen and Rosa-Lucille
Kyler-Chozen+ Ned Randall+Tommy
I know they are the same actor but the backstory for Kreese fits with that of Erickson in Rambo: first blood part II.
Asshole former spec ops turned spook.
Let's say for the sake of simplicity they all have the potential to get Stands and between Seasons 2&3 a meteor split into several pieces across the San Fernando Valley, including Resesda and Encino Hills. How would this change the show? What kind of stands would the characters get? Who would survive being hit with a Stand Arrow?
Let me explain. It's been pretty accepted that Miguel is basically a Daniel who joined Cobra Kai. I can get behind this, there are similarities there. It's also got me to notice something else in particular..
Miguel Diaz is basically an "unlucky" modern Daniel Larusso!
Some of you guys may get confused at this, so I will explain my reasons for this. Daniel had his story played out in the movies, following certain story beats. Miguel follows these story beats as well, but he doesn't succeed as well. He always falls short from Daniel.
Let us start with Daniel (Karate Kid 1) and Miguel (Season 1)
Daniel (Karate Kid 1) and Miguel (Season 1)
Here are their similarities/story beats in these instances:
Here is where Daniel succeeded and where Miguel failed.
Miguel's ending here was bittersweet, while Daniel won it all.

Now, let us continue with Daniel (Karate Kid 2) and Miguel (Season 2)
Daniel (Karate Kid 2) and Miguel (Season 2)

... keep reading on reddit β‘I remember when I was a kid, my friends and I would discuss/debate who would win in a fight, Rocky Balboa or Daniel LaRusso. This was the early 90s, and the general consensus among my group of peers was that Rocky would win, because Daniel just couldn't hit hard enough to make a real dent in the rock-headed boxer.
Now, in 2021, both franchises have seen their own respective revivals with the "Creed" films and obviously "Cobra Kai."
So, my question would be: Who do you think would win in a fight, Adonis Creed or one of the new protagonists from "Cobra Kai?"
Makes sense since he's the target next season of Cobra Kai kids in the school. I can see his sister being a big influence as it also helps her grow up and shake off her "rich girl" upbringing.
In every movie, the protagonist got a rival. In the canon order, we have:Johnny, Chozen, Mike Barnes and Ned.
All rivals have the obligation of being genuinely intimidating and giving the protagonist a good fight.
Indeed, every single rival Daniel had was strong on his own terms.Johnny was the strongest Cobra Kai of the five-man formation (a big accomplishment, considering how skilled his four peers are).Chozen was so skilled that he was actually a sensei at KK2 time.Mike Barnes was a champion at national level.
All of them were respectable fighters because of their levels. All right, Mike Barnes made a lot of illegal contact at the KK3 tournament, but he was still ridiculously strong without playing dirty.
But Ned? He's not only one of the weakest characters in the Karate Kid universe (4 movies + Cobra Kai series), but he's actually the weakest rival of the franchise. The arguments? Here we go.
Anyway, thoughts?
Can any group of characters from Karate Kid/Cobra Kai possibly stand a chance against Batman without any of his gadgets or tech?
If not then how about the Dick Grayson without his batons?
Round 1: Young Daniel LaRusso from the Karate Kid trilogy. Has had a year of prep time.
Round 2: Young Daniel again from the trilogy, has had no prep time.
Round 3: Daniel LaRusso from Cobra Kai, has had a year to prepare.
Round 4: Older Daniel from Cobra Kai again, has had no prep time.
My family is really enjoying the CK series, but just about everyone in my life thinks it's crazy that I haven't seen the original Karate Kid movies (despite being an 80s kid. What can I say? I was a big reader vs movie watcher.)
Would it help with the background of the show for me to see the movies?
I agree with the whole "Daniel is obsessed with Miyagi" line of thought (and internally laughed at Anthony when he told his dad the same)... but would it help me "get it" if I saw the movies?
(Please don't kill me for not seeing them. Haha.)
I really can't wrap my head around why this subreddit and comment sections are so concerned on who's going to take the mantle as the "karate kid" when the show itself doesn't even seem concerned about it. this is just my opinion but I feel like these characters are infinitely more compelling and interesting making a name for themselves instead of taking someone else's. I also think the whole taking up the mantle stick is an almost tired concept and does not belong in a series as good as this.
Yeah, I know. You're probably wondering; "Dude, why the fuck you put a sensei/teacher in this list? If he can teach, he is strong. Come on!" But we have to break it down, explain it.
Let's be very honest here: For a mentor, Colonel Dugan is extremely weak.
Specially compared to Mr. Miyagi, Kreese or even Terry Silver.
Not just because of the ease Mr. Miyagi had to subdue him (indeed, Mr. Miyagi pretty much curb-stomps everyone of the series) but also because of how weak his students were.
If his students have that much a low level of skill, he's a very weak mentor too. Even his top student is weak. Speaking of which...
All right, where do I start with Ned?
First, let's have a little rewind of the first three movies. Which thing the first three movies had in common? Besides Daniel, of course.
If you answered "a strong and genuinely intimidating rival who gives the hero a hard time in his final bout", you answered correctly!
Indeed... Every rival Daniel had was strong is his own right. Johnny, Chozen, Mike Barnes... All three, with no exception, gave Daniel a hard time at the movie's climax.
But Ned? Come on, that was ridiculous! Julie basically toyed with him and still won.
For a Karate Kid rival, Ned is painfully weak. Just like his mentor.
Don't get me wrong, guys... I actually think Bert is a halfway decent comic relief to the series, but we have to admit that he has no merits whatsoever. He was one-shot by an unnamed character at the tournament and lost at the school brawl against his same-sized rival Nate. Bert has no wins in the resumΓ©. Too bad, little man. Maybe if the writers liked you a little more...
Kyler was considered strong just when he was a real bully. He defeated Miguel one time at the mini mart. Then defeated him again at the school Halloween. All right, Kyler 2 Miguel 0.
But honestly? It just took some average-to-small amount of training to Miguel to curb-stomp Kyler and his goons. Miguel basically wrecked him at the cafeteria.
Kyler thinks he's the biggest fish in his pond, but it took just a slightly experienced fighter to put him in his place.
You're no big deal, bro. Even Bert could defeat you.
Yeah, I know. I've used two characters in the same spot, what a sin. Anyway... You may think they are strong because of that scene of Terry Silver sparring with them or because they hang out with Mike Barnes, but... When it comes to
... keep reading on reddit β‘Like there are series like The Clone Wars or Rebels that do it good, but Cobra Kai takes known characters, and adds some new ones into the mix and finds a way to write each character to have an arc.
Karate Kid 3 bombed at the box office. Got terrible reviews. Zabka isn't even in it and even Macchio said it was a piece of shit. So I find it odd there's all this revisionist history where everyone acts like its some masterpiece and everyone wants cast members like Silver and Barnes to join Cobra Kai. So now it's a good film?
Things I remember from the movie.
I watched it on HBO or a premium movie channel.
I remember the Mr. Miyagi type character would drive in a car and make him run. At first he can't run far and at the end the man can't catch him. Total 80's montage type thing.
The kid would do push-ups on cinder blocks ( I remember this because I tried to emulate it)
At the end, in the tournament, he takes off his shirt and he is now totally ripped. I remember a quick shot of girls in the audience giggling.
The boy was in high school and I think had shorter curly hair.
I have been searching everywhere for a while now and can't find anything. Ahhhhh!
When I watched the Karate Kid 3 a couple of months ago, I thought to myself that it's overly hated and it shouldn't. Personally, I thought its strengths were:
The Karate Kid
In The Karate Kid, it's obvious that Johnny was always annoying Daniel and hurting him all the time. Beating him up on the beach, attacking him on the football field, knocking him down a hill on his bike that left him injured on the forehead and beating him up when Daniel was being chivalrous for Ali when he sprayed the water hose on Johnny after Ali said she would like to see Johnny get a taste of his own medicine.
Cobra Kai
In Cobra Kai, when Daniel and Johnny meet up again, Daniel is kind to him and doesn't blame Johnny for what happened back in the day because it was Cobra Kai and Johnny decided to bring the dojo back out of spite. Daniel even wonders why Johnny would ever wanna bring back Cobra Kai after Kreese did a chokehold on him. Then he defaces Daniel's billboard and when Daniel discovers this, he is convinced that Johnny hasn't matured at all and goes to great lengths to stop the dojo. The defacing even causes problems at the business and in school for Sam and likely Anthony. And obviously at the Tournament he sees Miguel fight dirty with Robby which likely convinced him further.
He later told Robby that they weren't gonna fight Cobra Kai because they're not the enemy, but later he saw an alive John Kreese with Johnny and rightfully knowing that Kreese is evil he takes to great lengths to divert people to Miyagi-Do. And after the dojo is trashed and Mr. Miyagi's Medal of Honor is stolen by Cobra Kai, Daniel goes and accuses Johnny. I have to say I don't like that Daniel was only suspecting Johnny ... I know that Daniel had good enough reason to suspect Johnny did since he had drawn a penis on the billboard and slugged Anoush, but he should've said out loud that maybe Kreese also likely had something to do with this or another student did.
During the hunt for Robby, Johnny was too much of a reckless, strike-first idiot and being too aggressive to the guys in the chop shop that Daniel had to stop him. But eventually, with Ali's help, they put their troubles aside.
What's up with these kids being competent in martial arts after a month of training, and kids that been doing it for a year being martial arts masters?lol
I saw a publication with a tier list of main Cobra kai characters and it occurred to me to make one with many more Cobra Kai and Karate Kid characters explain why and ... this would be my tier list of characters from the Karate Kid and Cobra Kai universe.

I have tried to include as many as possible and organize them in levels, being:
F: For the weakest of all, who do not practice any physical activity and worse, are not in good physical condition, this space is only reserved for Anthony Larusso.
E -: Space for characters who do not practice any physical activity due to the lifestyle they lead (Moon, Jasmine, S1 Demetri, Eli) or who despite knowing how to fight their body does not help them (Bert and Nathaniel) but at least they are better than Anthony.
E: An intermediate point between those who do not do physical activities with almost no frequency and those who do ... "average people" (Miguel from the beginning of season 1, Ali who although he was a cheerleader, let's say that it is not an activity that strengthens you much, or Kumiko)
C-: Characters who frequently practice a sport such as Hobby or do physical activities frequently although without combat skills (Daniel, the beginning of Kk1 who played Soccer and was very "active", or Jessica from Kk3 who liked to climb)
C: Characters who know how to fight but do not practice any discipline (Here we see Kyler, Robby at the beginning of season 1, Snake from KK3 who as described by Silver is a criminal, the friend of Kyler Brucks) and Stingray, well ... not really It should be here, nor in the next one, it would be in the middle of C and B- but I put it here.
B-: Here are the "average fighters" for the saga, the level reached by most fighters in this independent universe of their dojo.
B: Exceptional or talented fighters, here are characters that stand out in combat either because they have trained a lot (Tory, Hawk, Miguel S1, Miguel S2, Johnny Kk) for the teacher they had (Daniel Kk), for their natural talent (Robby and Samantha)
A-: Characters that exceed the level of exceptional fighters and have been shown to defeat characters of that level.
(Chozen repeatedly defeating a Daniel higher than in kk1, Daniel in the end kk2 who could defeat Chozen, Daniel kk3 who is obviously more than Daniel kk2, or Julie Pierce who already knew Karate and after being trained by Miyag

The theme involves around teens, bullying, martial arts, and comedy.
Is there an equivalent in Kdrama? Or something with lots of TaeKwonDo?
I just tried to rewatch the film and it def is a bit too long and not one of my favorites, I still hold the film canon and we get a lot of good insights on Miyagi, his friends and life outside Daniel.
I am wondering if the writers are going to incorporate some characters (Julie) or elements (monks) into Cobra Kai. I did notice Julie has a pet Hawk in the film- found that interesting.
I wonder if Daniel knows of Julie or has heard of her at any point.
I personally think its miguel. What about you all?
For me they are both very good and it is hard to pick. What about you all?
