Hey all,
Just got a new linksys router and it's looking like the only option for setup is to use my phone to download their bullshit fucking app to do literally anything with the router. 192.168.1.1 redirects to "Hi! ust use our app π!" And I'm not fucking doing that.
Any hope or am I returning this thing to best buy?
Thanks

Hi iβve had my router for more than 4 years and itβs terrible. Itβs in the living room which is next door to my room we have 1 Gig internet and i still manage to have a packet loss on both 2.4 and 5hz signals and im using a Wi-fi Mesh Extender (Not a Mesh network like Eero just a wall plugin with a ethernet port) I get like 500mps for download but like 70 for upload. Recently my internet has increased on apex cutting from 40-60mps 1 packet loss to 20-23 no packet loss but on Warzone im still at 70-80mps and 1 packet loss. Even my xbox one network statistics says i have a 1 packet loss. Another weird thing iβve noticed i used to have iPv4 AND 6 but 6 isnβt there anymore but my NAT Type is still Open. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Nothing is wrong with my router, it's been chugging just fine the last 8 years. However, recently I installed a raspberry pi for Pihole and I cannot get it properly working because the WRT19000AC does not allow for setting IPv6 DNS servers. So IPv4 queries will run through the pihole but not IPv6 queries. And I don't think outright disabling IPv6 on the router is a good idea.
Thus I'm looking for a new router of equivalent or superior quality, and of course has a more rounded out IPv6 configuration.
I am looking to get rid of a few items that are around the house.

I have tried everything I've found in the way of troubleshooting so far. Port Forwarding, Disabling UPnP, Placing the PC in the DMZ(which seemed to have worked briefly), Setting Static IP, etc.. I'm at a loss here, and can't seem to figure it out. I'm able to play every other game I have, but no Vanguard. Has ANYONE figured this one out yet?
Hello everyone. My parents have a Linksys AX1800 router that they hired someone to setup for them, but it is in their basement.
I just so happen to have the exact same router that I don't need anymore and would like to use it as an access point upstairs to extend their Wi-Fi coverage.
Can someone tell me how to change my existing router to access point (even though I currently have it setup as a router on my account). Then how do I connect the 2 routers? Their router is not setup on my account. Do I need to reset the routers and start the setup process from scratch on my account?
So I just got installed today! I called the support line got the PPPoE info so I can use my current WiFi setup the Velop. Using the Velop I can only pull about 150mbps, but the Plume was pulling 1.1gps easy. I tired a few things but nothing helped. My Velop system is new so I went back to my ASUS system it pulled 1.2gps. I found a article from the UK where some had issues with fiber and Velop. Not sure how this is possibleπ€
So I had set up a log thing for fun, that is a web server that shows a log of requests it received...
Now I randomly check it while setting up something else and I was bewildered to find a flood of requests from a local address...
![image](https://dsbg.qonq.gq)
10.0.0.47 is a Linksys E4200 (v2 iirc) in bridge mode. 10.0.0.48 is the machine hosting the web server.
It's been sending these requests exactly every minute since like last night.
From what I've found, it appears the /HNAP1/ requests are related to moon worm, and /JNAP/ is something else... .
As it is now, the router itself has nothing on /HNAP1/ but does have something on /JNAP/.
The router was previously used as a gateway to the internet. I can't remember whether I had remote access enabled or not. But I suppose it could have gotten infected back then, and resetting it doesn't sterilize the OS data?
Would installing a firmware update sterilize it? But the newest version on Linksys's website is lower than what's installed, "2.1.41 (Build 164606)" versus "2.1.42.183584". π
Or should I just dump the piece of shit? But I'm cheap and like to use whatever's laying around if it's up to spec.
I really wonder how it could have gotten infected. Considering there's something at /JNAP/ (i see a different, raw 404 page in the browser)... maybe something else on the LAN is compromised :S
Current setup is ISP Modem / Linksys EA8300 WiFi Off / Linksys Velop Handles all devices in Bridge mode. 30 Devices
Speed to main node is 500 connection seems stable but I do suffer bandwidth issue on some devices. Like movie sometimes stop playing or lose quality.
Stadia Gaming is not good alot of lag.
UPnP is enabled in the router settings but not working. When I fire up PortMapper and try connecting to my router it spits our the error below:
