A list of puns related to "Letrozole"
Hello! I am on my first round of Letrozole and on CD 15. I havenβt had a positive OPK and my CM has been dry after my menstruation. Can anybody whose been successful tell me if they noticed any difference when ovulating on Letrozole? Did you get a positive OPK? What CD dis you ovulate?
I have my follow up on CD 20 to test for progesterone and Im just scared of disappointmentβ¦ π©
Hiya everyone - Iβm here for your advice and thoughts again. Even if you could just share your experience, it would be a great help. A bit of background, Iβm 21F, with PCOS. Healthy weight, BMI of 22. TTC for around 5 months tracking, a year before that trying with no tracking. This month I had my first Letrozole cycle, where I did ovulate without need for a trigger, but did not conceive - I would absolutely love some advise on what to pair with Letrozole for my next cycle to up my chances as best as possible. Firstly, Iβm gonna tell you what I did this Letrozole cycle;
Letrozole Cycle #1 Medications -Letrozole 5mg taken CD2-6 -Metformin 1000g taken daily
Supplements/Vitamins (all taken daily) -Myo + D-chiro Inositol (2000mg:50mg) -Folic Acid -Maca Root -Conceive Plus Prenatals -Vitamin D + Tumeric -Vitamin B6 -Used Preeseed for BD
Dietary Changes -Completely dairy free -Eating 80% Vegan -Lost 6ibs
Tracking -Used OvuCore from OvuSense to track Core Temp instead of BBT for more accurate result. -OPKβs with reading help from Premom app
We baby danced from CD14-18, ovulation was later confirmed for CD17. For baby dancing I used Preeseed - HOWEVER I think I used too much, as I was under the wrong impression that it helped sperm travel - not that it just didnβt effect sperm as much as other lubricants.
Also for a side note, we have finally booked for my husband to have a sperm analysis- just to rule out/find any further issues.
Thank you all so much!!! Kay x
Hi everyone! Looking to get pregnant, but due to PCOS I was just informed I donβt ovulate naturally on my own. My doctor is recommending Letrozole. Iβm currently at my highest weight (280-290, size 20/22); all of my labs and blood pressure look good. I was just looking for anyone elseβs experience of Letrozole, and getting pregnant/pregnancy experience around my body type/weight? Iβm both nervous and excited! Thanks so much!
I have done 4 rounds of letrozole (3 @ 5mg, 1 @ 7.5mg). I ovulated on all 4 rounds well (around CD 12-15), but have not gotten pregnant on any of them. My husband's SA was fantastic, and my weak ovulation was the only thing that came up in blood work before starting Letrozole (progesterone was low).
I have an HSG on CD9 this next round and will be trying 7.5mg with TI again. But I want to know what the logical next step is. Should I ask for a trigger as well with cycle monitoring? None of the rounds have been monitored. Ovulation was only confirmed via BBT so I am not sure how big the follicles were.
Should I just ask to move to only injectables? I don't really want to do IUI because my husband's SA came back great, but maybe that should be the next step?
What did or would you do? And what ultimately worked?
I wish this wasn't all so complicated.
Background: we had been ttc for 10 months before I found out I had PCOS. Then we were put on Letrozole and after 3-4 months of upping the dose, I finally ovulated on 7.5. We did 3 cycles of just Letrozole with day 21 lab to confirm ovulation, and three more after that with a trigger shot/ultrasound + day 21 lab. We then decided to stop because I was in a really bad place mentally.
Since then Iβve been focusing a lot on stress management, cutting down inflammation, and acupuncture and have finally ovulated/menstruated 3 cycles!
Iβm kinda losing hope though, I know how hard it is to conceive naturally with PCOS. My doc mentioned I could try Chlomid and that some patients who didnβt get pregnant with Letrozole find success with Chlomid. Anyone out there with a similar story??
This is my first cycle on Letrozole. I was instructed to take all 10 2.5mg pills in one day, which was this past Saturday. My first ultrasound was Wednesday and I had a 12mm follicle on my right side and two 11-12mm follicles on my left side (along with a lot of small ones).
Today, I went back and the one on my right side is only 15mm and the left two had only grown to 13mm. I feel super discouraged by this - can you share similar experiences if you have them? It sounded like my trigger shot is becoming more and more less likely as they need to be at least 18-20mm and Iβve never gotten there before.
Thank you!
So Iβm starting Letrozole soon, any advice? Tips or suggestions?
My doctor gave me 2.5mg CD 3-7 and starting CD 12 have sex every other day until CD 24 and then do a progesterone lab on CD 24 to confirm ovulation. I have opks and pregnancy tests. I currently take a prenantal, aspirin, B12, fish oil, Metformin and Ovasitol for PCOS.
Iβm not asking for medical advice but I guess anything that helps or worked. I only get 4 rounds of medication before we move onto IUI or IVF so I wanna make the most of these 4 rounds.
I was on letrozole 7.5mg for 5 cycles and while I successfully ovulating, I did not conceived :( my doctor told me that since I 'maxed' my letrozole cycles, I'll be switched over to clomid 100mg.
Have anyone gone through this and have success?
I just wanted some opinions here. So Iβm supposed to start taking letrozole cd3 but I usually spot for a few days before my period gets really heavy. When I brought that up to my doctor she told me usually they count CD1 as first bleed but then she said maybe start taking the letrozole on the day I get heavy. Iβm on day 3 of spotting and it looks like fresh blood and Iβm cramping but itβs so light. Iβm just not sure if I should start taking it now or wait till itβs heavy like my doctor said. Iβm only getting so many rounds with this doc so I donβt want to mess this cycle up.
I've done 3 cycles of Letrozole with a previous doctor. I've always had cysts on my CD3 ultrasounds, and it wasn't an issue at that fertility clinic. They just took measurements of them, and the doc continued with giving me Letrozole and monitoring on future ultrasounds.
I recently moved, and I'm now seeing a new doctor. I had my CD3 ultrasound today which showed 2 small cysts. He won't continue with prescribing Letrozole. Instead, he wants me to take birth control for 3 weeks, have another bleed, and return on my next CD3 for another ultrasound to see if the cysts went down. If they've vanished, then it's safe to continue with fertility meds. If they haven't gone down by then, then he said I'd need to take another round of birth control and they'd reassess again.
Is this typical? It's never been an issue before, and this caught me off guard. I've had much bigger cysts in the past than I do now. Honestly, I'm crushed as I went in there today hopeful to start another medicated cycle. Realistically, I know it's just another month of waiting (or two) in the grand scheme, but I'm already emotionally fragile, turning another year older next month, and this is not the delay I expected to hear as I close out this shitty year. Meanwhile, there are also rumors of another lockdown coming in the country I'm in.
TL;DR: Is it typical for doctors to postpone fertility meds if you have ovarian cysts and to prescribe birth control pills instead?
I've just started my treatment cycle on letrozole (start 2 tablets of 2.5mg per day for 5 days starting D3), went back for an ultrasound on Day 12 to see i have one 10mm follicle and a 8mm one, both are not mature enough; I was told to come back on Day 19 to check again, luckily, the 10mm follicle grew to about 16mm. I'm going back again tomorrow on Day 21 to confirm it's mature (18mm or more) and administer the trigger shot.
I initially thought that Day 12 result would determine the success of this cycle, so i was really sad when i was told no follicles were mature enough. but the doctor told me since I have very irregular cycles, we should wait to see if my follicle grows from letrozole. I'm very grateful that the team made that call to wait and check multiple times.
For contexts: I was diagnosed with PCOS since 15 (went on without period for half a year). Then put on metformin for 6months, got my period, still irregular cycles and weak flow (sometimes once every two months). Later, I went on birth control for about 8 years on and off, and rarely had periods without BCP or progesterone shots since then. My blood work in recent years have been very normal, only when they checked AMH and ultrasound, did they find symptoms of PCOS.
Would love to hear if anyone resonates with my pcos background? feels good to share here! Also a bit worried about having only 1 mature follicle, the doctor said that it's normal to just have 1, but wanted to hear you guys' experience on that, and whether there's anything i can do to help the chance after IUI.
EDIT: my day 21 follicle is at 20mm, so I did the trigger shot. did timed intercourse instead of IUI and now in the 2week waiting period
Hi! This is my second month of 5mg letrozole. First month I took it from days 2-6, ovulated on day 19, then got my period.
This month I took it days 3-7, I am on day 22 with no temp rise or other signs of ovulation.
Iβm really nervous that it didnβt work this month. My RE already told me that they donβt prescribe higher doses of letrozole, and Iβm really not ready to go in for regular scans or a trigger shot.
So Iβm looking for some advice for my next cycle- do you think I should try another round of letrozole and hope this month was a fluke, or should I try clomid instead? Tell me what worked for you!
So, Im currently on CD 21 after first round of Letrozole and woke up to bright spotting. I havenβt had an LH surge and I was supposed to go to the dr yesterday for the progesterone test but the appointment got rescheduled for tomorrow (CD 22). Has anybody had the same experience. Should I count myself out for this round? Itβs a bright red spotting, just like when Iβm starting my period, not light pink or brownishβ¦
Of course I canβt help but get my hopes up.. with me luck!
Background: got my nexplanon taken out in February of this year to ttc and never got my period after 3 months. Work up including blood work and transvaginal ultrasound confirmed PCOS diagnosis. Iβve been on birth control since age 19 so it must have been masked all these years. Gained 40 pounds during these years and I just thought it was from not doing sports anymore and getting older. Anyways lost 10% of my body weight and my period came back! Yay but my 21 day progesterones were not very high and I was BDing consistently. We finally decided to start letrozole and based on my calculation I could theoretically get a BFP on Christmas. Not letting my husband know but I canβt help but hope. I know you all would understand β€οΈ
I (F28) was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I've had irregular periods since I was 16 but I also work out alot so I thought it was due to that. I'm very fit, eat healthy, blood results are normal. I started my PCOS journey three months ago. The doctor told me to take Letrozole for five days, get the trigger shot and then timed intercourse. My body responded great to a 5mg dose. The second cycle my follicles weren't responding so they upped me to 7.5mg (Max) of Letrozole. This cycle the max Letrozole did nothing. After two weeks follicles we're still at 9mm(?). We are doing five days of clomid and if there is still no follicle growth we are going to do injections. Does anyone have experience with their body not responding to Letrozole? I've been feeling pretty down and thinking negatively about the whole situation.
TW: Mention of loss
So I clearly ovulate on my own cause Iβve had 3 CPs after a missed miscarriage back in May. But I started reading about people taking clomid or letrozole in similar situations and having success with it. There isnβt much info that Iβve found, but Iβm curious what you all think about it? Could there be any benefit (like a βstrongerβ ovulation) to someone who ovulates regularly to take one of these?
Just looking for encouragement I guess. Iβm scared. I do have regular periods and Iβm at a healthy weight. Iβm 28, this will be my husband and Iβd first pregnancy/baby if successful.
