A list of puns related to "Knott's Berry Farm"
Today marks the first weekend of a rather long passholder preview time for KBF, and I guess this strategy worked on me because I last minute bought a platinum pass for this park and CGA. You win this round, Cedar Fair marketing team!
Had an 11:30 reservation, found out official park policy is to let you in a half hour before your reservation time (like, to the minute.) Went to Hangtime since it's the one I've ridden least, and boy does it stand out in the park's lineup. In the whole state, even! Love this ride, walked on twice, nice blend of forces and the vertical lift is so strange.
Xcelerator was also a walk on for every row but the first, so got a ride on that. Ol' unreliable, but it's always a blast.
At this point I wanted to check out the new Beary Tales dark ride, but a park employee at the entrance indicated it wasn't up and running yet.
Made my way to Ghostrider, line was at the entrance to the building but because of some veeeerrryy spaced queues and quick dispatches, only took about 20 minutes and stayed around this length throughout the day. Seating is every other row, except parties of 3-4 get two consecutive rows which helps speed the line. Same for Xcelerator.
Silver Bullet was seating every other row, which I felt was a bit unnecessary even if you do subscribe to the abundance of caution model as the loading rows are spaced apart. Still, only about a 15 minute wait around noon, looked closer to 30 a couple hours later.
Basically no wait for Montezooma's, just a couple trains. This is doing strictly every other row. Long live the shuttle coaster!
Short waits for Sol Spin and Supreme Scream. The top scan at Lagoon was my first time on that kind of ride, and its cycle was incredibly intense. This installation doesn't seem to get up to full speed and also seems deeply unpopular with so many people, I'm surprised Knott's got one.
By 2 PM the park was getting very crowded, as I believe that is the latest entry time to reserve (you can enter any time after). Hangtime had a line out the entrance, so I passed up a third ride. Calico Mine Train was about 20 minutes, I never skip this one. So classic, nicely refreshed, and the grotesque grunting animatronics are timeless. Beary Tales still not open yet.
In case you didn't know, the boysenberry BBQ wings that debuted at the first Boysenberry Festival are now sold at the Boardwalk BBQ place, and they are delicious! After a snack and beer to make the crowds more tolerable, I got in the hour long

##Early in the 7th Month, 87 Years after the Doom
'A light in the dark swamp,' Malwyn had called them. A force this size, trudging through mud and cavernous hills, changing like clockwork to thick forests of pines, dense enough to drain the soil to the point where even the frogs wanted an escape. Who in the Seven bloody Hells would want to live here? Much less conquer it? But Harry knew better than to complain. Brother Malwyn was a temperamental old man, and they were on bad enough terms as it was.
"Fuck's sakβ HOLD!" Ser Harry called out, signaling the columns, already made uneven by the poorly disciplined Poor Fellows and inhospitable terrain, to come to a gradual stop with the wave of his fist. Behind him, the steed of his second-in-command Ser Medgar had gotten itself stuck in a... must have been a snake hole or a muddy pit or something. It was always something, something to infuriate the young knight on this stagnant expedition. They had already been late, a journey which should have taken a few months at even a slow march made only slower by these constant issues.
"Control your men." Came the response as always from Brother Malwyn 'The Mystic'. The leader of the Dusklands' Poor Fellows, robed in a bleached-white surcoat, looked up with disdain at the highborn knight.
"As if this Seven-forsaken disaster of a march hasn't been the fault of yourβ" Harry muttered sidelong under his breath.
"What was that, Ser Harry?" Malwyn cut the knight off quickly with a glare.
"Nothing, Brother Malwyn! My frustrations get the best of me as of late." Harry spat through gritted teeth. But as Medgar freed his horse, and the host continued its march, they were met with the sight, oh what a beautiful sight, the excitement of which could be compared to a parent seeing their newborn child for the first time. Dyre Den. Their final destination who's towers signaled the end of this dismal march.
With no branch of the Faith Militant existing in the Claw, the host which marched would be a strange sight, especially to the common folk who inhabited the hamlet around Dyre Den proper. Some two hundred men of the faith, banners of various styles fluttering in the wind high above them as they marched in a long column two-by-two along the road. One flag held high depicting the red seven-pointed star against a white canvas banner, and another black adorned with a sword: blade colored by every color under the sun, yet another flag of seven rainbow colors with l
