A list of puns related to "Jonathan Goldsmith"
Dear Friends,
After nearly a decade portraying The Most Interesting Man in the World, I am thrilled to report my life of adventure is continuing. Not as an actor. As a journalist.
Starting today, I'm joining the editorial staff of True.Ink, a new online magazine that combines tall tales with live, off-line experiences. "Live The Story," we say.
My title is editor emeritus, and along with hosting some incredible events, Iβll be penning a column called True Mastery, and writing some poetry. For those who want to stay in touch (you can sign up below) I'm offering a winner a weekend in Vermont.
Fishing. Hiking. Martinis. On me. You coming?
For proof this is me, to enter my contest and to sign up for my newsletter go here.
Thanks for having me Reddit and great to be back. Running for the train. Have a deadline, but will be back soon and stay in touch with me at True.Ink/Goldsmith
I'm here with Victoria from reddit for my second AMA. Last time was a lot of fun and we raised a good amount of money for landmine and bomb removal in Vietnam. I'm asking for your help again, reddit, but this time to help clear landmines and bombs in Cambodia.
Money for landmine removal is dropping in Cambodia, but the threat remains. We need your help.
Go to www.prizeo.com/jonathan to see a video we made at a military testing facility and while there enter to win a day with me taking falconry lessons as well as an off-road driving class at the Land Rover Experience Driving school in Manchester, VT.
Sure, you could win an unforgettable day, but more importantly you will raise money to save lives and limbs.
Mines Advisory Group is doing great work.

Ok, reddit, ask me anything.
Update: It's very flattering to me that anybody wants to communicate, or cares about my position on things. And I guess the only thing I would like to share is that we can all make a difference. We have to look outside of ourselves, come from a place of service, and we can all ameliorate the human condition. Each in his own way. And giving is far more valuable than receiving. To be able to make a difference in somebody less fortunate's life is the greatest gift of all.
So I do want to thank reddit, and all of the people who have been kind enough to care about what I have to say, and who have been fans, I really appreciate it. Keep drinking responsibly, and stay thirsty for all things.

And I hope you will take seriously the fact that each of us can make a difference. And each of us are instrumental to change and hope and encouragement. And yes, each one of us can change the world just a little bit. And collectively we can make a helluva difference.
Hello Reddit. You may have seen my picture on this site from time to time. In addition to playing the Most Interesting Man in the World I have also been in 350 movies and television series including: Dallas, Adam-12, Knight Rider, CHiPs, Eight Is Enough, The Rockford Files, Hawaii Five-O, Barnaby Jones, MacGyver, Murder, She Wrote, Charlie's Angels, Manimal, The Fall Guy, Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Hardcastle and McCormick, Magnum, P.I., Knots Landing, and The A-Team,
I am doing this AMA in support of the work of a group I just joined, Clear Path International and our partner Mines Advisory Group. Here in Vietnam men, women and children are still being injured by landmines and bombs left over from the Vietnam War. I have spent the last few days touring CPI and MAG projects, visiting clearance sites and learning a lot about the people here and the hardships they still face, 40 years after U.S. combat operations ceased in August of 1973.
It is very important to me that this AMA helps raise money for Clear Path and Mines Advisory Group. Make a donation to our efforts here.
This is the first part of a month-long AMA series to benefit Clear Path International and Mines Advisory Group's work in Vietnam. Fiuture AMA's will include John Densmore of the Doors, John Perry Barlow co-founder of the ELectronic Frontier Foundation and lyricist of the Grateful Dead, Ben Taylor, John Perkins and Tommy Tallarico.
OK Reddit... Ask Me Anything.
Goodnight Reddit, it's 1 o'clock in the morning here in Vietnam. Thank you so much. It's the end of a 20 hour day and the MAG and CPI team here with me needs to get to bed so we can do it all again tomorrow.. [Please donate to our efforts here: bitly.com/17lC6iZ
As I was listening to the podcast today, I observed Dan reacting with delight and surprise that Jonathan Goldsmith was the original Most Interesting Man in the World.
I thought to myself, "Didn't they spend a pretty significant amount of time on this fact a while back? I think they had this guy on for an interview...is my podcast app acting up and playing an old saved episode?"
They even put a poll up...I checked twitter and found everyone calling them out on it. No one on the show mentioned it...did everyone forget or is this one of those times that Dan's age is showing and everyone felt bad for him? Or perhaps it was all on purpose and I need a "you don't get the show" sounder.

It's always nice to see someone using their celebrity to support a good cause. What originally drew you to land mine removal? | What drew me to it was a trip with another organization, where I went to Vietnam, and I saw the horrible results of ordnance that was left behind from a 40 year old war! I mean, the Vietnam situation ceased 40 years ago, and still, every day, children and farmers were injured and crippled and killed. And how could i not help? I have always been involved with giving back to causes for children, ever since I started working at 18 years old for the Herald Tribune Fresh Air Fund. And always been involved with kids, and to see these beautiful kids who were crippled and maimed, I knew I had to get involved and any way I could call attention to this horrendous problem. That led me to get involved with MAG (Mines Advisory Group), and it's become something that's extremely important to me. What they do is amazing. And i'm so glad to lend whatever celebrity status I have to bring attention to it. I mean, for 26 years, they've been able to clear thousands and thousands of acres of land - in fact, there's a statistic, I believe, if I remember correctly, of 2100 square miles of land cleared for local populations - that's like having a one-mile road stretching from DC to Las Vegas. |
I'll give you some other statistics that may be of interest, certainly of importance:
MAG has destroyed over 400,000 land mines.
16 million items of unexploded ordnance have been destroyed.
And that includes ammunition.
MAG is currently working, I believe, in 17 countries and in many areas with ongoing conflicts.
What they have been able to do in Syria, especially with the refugee population, 50% of whom are children - 10,000 refugees entered the country in a SINGLE day in August.
In Cambodia - the numbers of funding is dropping, so this campaign today is very important that we raise money to help Cambodia, so if you go to Link to www.prizeo.com and give what you can, that would be tremendous.
Although MAG has some government funding, it's an ongoing challenge to find enough funding. When you are helping children |
