A list of puns related to "Jane Sibbett"
I donβt know if this is the right community for this but I figured this is about the show and itβs a reoccurring thought. I feel as though it is normal for everyday people to think about Monica, Rachel and even Phoebe as the most attractive women of the reoccurring characters within the TV series. I am very aware of the significance of Carol playing a lesbian on a 90s television show as well, however I still cannot help but to think to myself, wow, Carol is actually extremely attractive and no one ever talks about it. Am I alone on this?
She was already working for NBC at the time, occasionally guest starring as Carol on Friends, and is a petite blonde who frequently played uptight and/or bitchy 'villainous' characters. I could totally imagine her as Angela.
Iβm rewatching Friends, and I have yet to change my mind about this. When she was explaining the clown videos in TOW the Breast Milk... ugh. Am I alone?
Before you downvote me, hear me out! First, I must say that she is an incredibly round and complete character. Jane Sibbettβs acting was always some of my favorite whenever she made an appearance. When Ross runs into her and Susan at Valentineβs Day dinner (TOW the Candy Hearts) and Ross and Carol end up having dinner together, you can see that she really does care about him. The fact that it took her so long to come to terms with her sexuality, in my opinion, shows that she really cares about Ross and genuinely loves him as a person. In TOW the ski trip, Ross drops by when everyone leaves town and Carol gives him some solid advice as to how to handle the situation with his friends after he and Rachel are broken up and still figuring out their dynamic (βdonβt punish your friends for what Rachel did to youβ). I know there are moments where sheβs not the best (her first appearance, for instance, but I give this a pass bc the show was still getting its footing). Sheβs a great mom and, aside from her first appearance, has always worked well with Ross when it comes to parenting. I wish she would have been used in a couple other story lines, maybe some multi-episode arcs (maybe she and Susan going through marriage trouble and Carol stays with Ross or Monica for a little while, or something like that) . Anyway, I just really enjoy the character and feel like she has a whole story that could have been told in a short-lived spinoff or something
THE RESURRECTED (1991) (NO SPOILERS)
Last year I watched (or re-watched) a horror movie every day for the Month of October. This year...I watched two! This is movie #16
Private Detective John March (John Terry) is hired by Claire Ward (Jane Sibbett) to try and uncover why her husband Charles (Chris Sarandon) is acting strangely, what he's doing in his rural Pawtuxet Valley laboratory, and what connection he has to the enigmatic and taciturn Dr. Ash, who seems to be helping him in his experiments. But March discovers a far more complicated plot than he first assumes, involving the grave-robbing, monster creation and a sorcerer from the 18th Century.
H.P. Lovecraft adaptations used to be few-and-far-between - THE DUNWICH HORROR from 1970 being the most high-profile example up to a certain date. It is of little surprise that Lovecraft's slightly less ambitious (no cosmic horror, in other words) short novel from 1927, THE CASE OF CHARLES DEXTER WARD, has been adapted at least twice (1963's THE HAUNTED PALACE and this effort) as it has a fairly straight-ahead plot. What is a shame, however, is that this solid film has kind of dropped off people's radar and often gets overlooked when discussing adaptations of Lovecraft. All the acting is solid (Sarandon does a nice job in dual roles, and I like Marsh's footwork/stringer Lonnie, played by Robert Romanus, who seems a likeable mug), it has some pretty solid effects (good monsters, a flesh-tearing eldritch light-show at the end) and some nicely conceived moments of pulp horror (the lights go out in a roomful of pits filled with creatures!) - the whole thing just clips along. It might make a good, recent example to slasher fans that Gothic Pulp horror can be fun, and direct interpersonal violence is not always required in a horror film, and there's even some humor (that green hot dog!). Sure, there's some faulty construction (the movie has flashbacks inside of flashbacks and maybe even further than that) and a missed opportunity (Marsh's nightmare) but the pulp goodness is still there ("My goal is the interrogation of matter!").
I really liked the use of flashlights, lamps & matches (and their absence) as light sources in a few underground scenes here involving the cellar and subcellar (but then Dan O'Bannon is a solid director who knows what he's doing), as well as the flashback to colonial times (with the discovery of deformed creatures in the river - "He was a monster-maker!"). The "protopl

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Things I personally liked:
1. All the blooper / candid footage of the crew. While the bloopers were hilarious, I really treasured the candid footage of the crew when they were all just hanging out on set. There they were -- in the height of the 90's, the beginning of their careers, and really just in pure joy with each other. They all looked so beautiful in their youth, too.
2. The fact that the special was almost 2 hours long. It really needed to be that long. Any shorter it just wouldn't have done Friends justice. I actually even think it could have been even longer because there was so much content there. Maybe a limited series with an episode focus on different aspects of what made the show great. But in any way, I'm glad we got those two hours.
3. Lots of insight into what happened behind the scenes. I loved that we all learned that Jennifer and David were crushing on each other, and really acted on that chemistry through their characters. It was bittersweet, but really makes any rewatches of Friends that much more special because you know there's real validity/reality behind that chemistry. (With all that being said...does anyone think they probably hooked up a couple times anyway?)
What I didn't like:
1. James Cordon hosting. I think it would have been best hosted by Paul Rudd. Cordon is so cheesy and really unlikable at times.
2. Not enough focus on the guest stars / recurring characters of the show. I would have loved if they brought out more of the films guest stars like Julia Roberts, Ellen Pompeo, Winona Ryder, Brad Pitt, Brooke Shields, Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller, or recurring characters like Jon Favreau and/or especially, Jessica Hecht/Jane Sibbett and the SPROUSE TWINS (HELLO?!). Carol/Susan and the twins were an essential part of the show! I'd argue more so than Janice!
3. No references to writing that hadn't aged well. I think today's criticism of Friends is valid in the sense that it treats LGBT+ characters as taboo and rare in sight. The writers have discussed this issue in recent years -- and would have been great for everyone to discuss that briefly instead of ignore it.
3. Strange appearances. Mainly Justin Bieber. Why the hell was he there? Just because he's relevant today? How about featuring an on-trend actor or someone with relation to the show instead?
4. No references to sensitive issues that happened during the show. Not enough focus on Matthew Perry's story. He r

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
This one is probably among my least rewatched seasons of the show, but Iβm rewatching it now and I just wanted to discuss it! lol
Iβll list down some questions below, but feel free to chime in with whatever input you have about the first season!
The first two episodes, I feel the acting and writing were still kind of getting its bearings. By episode 3, the comedy is sharper and I buy the characters being actual friends. Itβs evident to me that the actors are already comfortable around each other at this point.
The characters used to have talks about relationships and sex. Kinda Seinfeld-ish in a way. Iβm glad they did away with this.
There used to be more zany side characters (mostly people at their workplace). I read that it was a conscious decision to do away with this because the audience liked seeing the main six interacting with each other more than with outside people.
This rewatch made me realize how much I dislike Barry. Canβt believe Rachel almost married him. And the actor, Mitchell Whitfield, even read for the part of Ross. I find his acting too hammy.
And Iβm glad the original actress for Carol walked away from the show and that they recast the role. The original Carol plus Susan would have made for too much of a headstrong couple. They would have been unbearably insufferable. TOW the Sonogram makes me mad haha But Jane Sibbett brings in some sweetness to the Carol role, and the way she played it made me believe that Carol didnβt mean to hurt Ross, things just turned out the way they did.

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
I won't be doing that today!
Iβm curious as to who you all believe to be the best non-main character of all the fabulous and talented women who appeared on the show. I think for me itβs a tie between Paget Brewster as Kathy and Jane Sibbett as Carol
