The bow is flipped on a skeleton model. It is hard to see when you are not using a custom texture pack because the default bow is practically the same on both tips making it difficult to spot normally. This should be fixed so that texture/resource pack makers can make the designs they want without it appearing strange on the player or on the skeleton.

Introduction

This post is made in the spirit of an end update being released. It is a long suggestion and contains a lot of separate ideas that are all precluded by the player obtaining end dust.

End Dust

End Dust is a light-emitting block that is inversely affected by gravity. It is found in patches below the islands in the End dimension.

Obtaining

Natural Generation

End dust will generate in the End dimension in scar-like patches by replacing the underside surface layer of end stone. It will generate at y level 18 and below, in any of the outer end island biomes and only on the lower surface.

Loot

End dust will generate rarely as loot in end cities.

Breaking

End dust can be broken with any tool, but a shovel is the quickest. It takes twice as long to mine as gravel. Mining end dust with Silk Touch will always drop an end dust item. The player can also place a block like a torch in the position that a rising end dust entity would land and it will pop off as an item.

When end dust is in item entity form it has inverted gravity and accelerates upwards, so you don't need to worry about losing it into the void as you harvest it.Mining end dust without Silk Touch will have a 50% chance to drop an end dust. The other 50% is split into a 1% chance to drop a piece of light flint and the other 49% to drop nothing at all. The chance to drop a light flint increases by 1% for each level of fortune. On average and with a fortune III shovel you will need 12.5 end dust to obtain 1 light flint.

Gravity Affected Entities

All of the new items / entities will be deleted 64 blocks above or below the respective world limits, if they have existed for 5 seconds.

These items would not be accelerated downwards, but they will experience a higher drag of 0.5/tick (See here for an explanation of drag) than normal items. This will essentially leave them floating in mid air after a short time.

I always thought these were helpful! So here’s my take on what things I’ve found most useful since baby’s been born and what I wish I didn’t get. Obligatory a lot of this will vary from person to person because all babies are different!

Sleeping: I love the gowns/sleep sacks. They make night changes so easy. Most places I’ve found sell them in 0-6 months so it’s nice they last awhile, but they’re huge for newborns/the first few months. Carters has NB sizes I loved and Gerber has some 0-3 I think. I got a lot of others off Zulily.

I wish I had bought more swaddle blankets, and I have quite a few! My house gets pretty warm so I often just have baby in a diaper and wrapped in a blanket. I don’t like the muslin ones too much, there’s a lot of extra fabric. Stretchy type materials work best. Personally, if it can’t be made into a diamond shape I can’t swaddle with it 😂 all the bigger blankets pretty much never get used so I wish I bought less of those.

The sleepea swaddles are also nice and easy to use, as well as the swaddle me brand from target. Check secondhand sites (poshmark, kidizen, Mercari) for better deals, often still in packaging! This goes for most baby things lol.

I bought a halo bassinet secondhand and I love it. The swivel feature is really nice, especially having a small space. It vibrates and plays music or different nature/womb sounds which I use a lot.

Eating: I wish I hadn’t bought so much breastfeeding stuff ahead of time. It ended up not working out so not only did I waste a lot of money, I get really upset looking at it all. I do plan to donate it so at least it’ll go to good use, but still. One thing I do wish I had bought was nipple shields (if you have flat or inverted nipples), and pack them in your hospital bag! They didn’t have any on the L&D floor so when baby had a hard time latching no one could help and she had to be given bottles. Lactation didn’t come in until a day later (apparently standard in my area since your milk doesn’t always come in) and finally brought them but I think baby got frustrated more easily since it wasn’t introduced initially.

If you plan to pump, I would get pumping bras. I stopped after a couple weeks but getting the pump to stay was incredibly annoying and frustrating without the bras. Or some have said to use an old sports bra and cut holes in it.

I humbly bow before the expertise gathered in this sub - I'm constantly impressed by the wonderfully complex and interesting things people are doing and discussing.

I am not a professional coder. I can't build ML algos and NNs and can't do high-level abstract math. I can hack together code and I do have a pretty good grasp on auction theory that I've used to trade a variety of instruments for some time now. I am a technologist by trade and I've been working on simple trading algos for the better part of the past year and decided to share the results of my latest project. On one hand, I hope to convince people with doubts about how hard or simple this can be that:

1. Yes, you can find profitable opportunities without the need for great complexity --> my code is written in python, no storage backend is required (I process streaming API data live and make liberal use of dataframes) and it's relatively procedural; I even do some nice quality-of-life things like send messages to a private discord and send text messages to myself using Twilio so I don't have to camp-out in front of my code all day watching it run
2. Those opportunities can come from the readily available universe of data you already have (I only use OHLCV datasets)
3. That code can be run on commodity hardware (I have a surface pro that's 3 years old)

But as one who is the very first to admit that I maybe have little "right" to be in this space, I also hope to hear from the veterans some critiques about any of the below. I'm sorry I don't have anything dazzling to show except some basic arithmetic and I hope that discussions about KPIs/metrics/meta-data people like me should pay attention to could certainly benefit many.

So my algo watches for imbalances to develop in the auction and scores bullish and bearish aggression as they ebb and flow. My algo swing trades anticipated momentum plays as close as I can comfortably detect transition. I use 15m candles to prevent trading too much because I use TD's API and they already fairly warned me once about a prior bot that was doing something similar but to the tune of something like 1500 trades a day. I stop out trades aggressively if anything isn't going my way and my biggest losers are from overnight gapping activity and my bot doesn't trade AH/PM so I'm subjected to the limitation of RTH.

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.

The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:

"What's sarong with that?"

I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).

His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
