It's a shame that Insatiable was such a bad tv series, because it has one of the best portrayals of an ED (that's not restrictive!!!) in media

This mainly goes for season 2. Things like Patty explaining how food is a constant nagging, thinking so much about weight that you end up just eating, showing that people still have a personality/goals outside of a disorder, etc.

Also THE OA GROUP!!! One of my favourite scenes. It was so normal and grounded, I was shocked it even made it into the epsiode. I loved the way everyone could laugh at each other and talk freely + how diverse the group was

(Spoiler) Who are the most evil villains from the MCU films (not counting TV series)?

So, for those of you who don`t know there is a trope created by TV Tropes called Complete Monster (also known as Pure Evil). They are regarded as the very worst of the worst characters from a certain franchise. There are a lot of requirements for these trope but the main ones are the following:

  1. The character has ABSOLUTELY NO REDEEMING QUALITIES. Even if a character has some redeeming qualities at the start of the story he/she could still become a Complete Monster if he/she loses them. Even one single redeeming quality is enough to disqualify a character from this trope.
  2. The character in question commits horrible, atrocious crimes that are presented seriously within the story and their actions are worse than the actions of most other villains in the story. We also take into account their resources and their ability to cause harm to other people. This means that if a character has more resources (if for example he/she is a ruler that commands thousands of people), then he/she needs to comit bigger atrocities in order to stand out. If a character has less resources to harm people (for example, if he/she is a lone serial killer), then he/she qualifies if their crimes are heinous enough considering their resources. If a character`s actions are not heinous enough by the standards of the story then he/she can`t be a Complete Monster. The character`s crimes must pass several different heinous standards in order for the character to count as a Complete Monster:

- The baseline standard - This is a common standard that all villains need to pass, no matter the work they come from. This means that the villain needs to commit crimes that are worse than animal cruelty, theft, abuse (unless the abuse is REALLY extreme but that rarely happens) and trying to kill the main characters (because this is something most villains try to do).

- The standards of the work - This means that the villain should be compared to other villains from the same work (or franchise) to see if his/her actions are bad enough to make him/her stand out. This means that a villain who comes from a lighthearted series like My Little Pony needs to be compared to other villains from My Little Pony and not to villains from grimdark franchises such as Warhammer 40000, A Song of Ice and Fire and Berserk. Similarly, a villain who comes from a work withΒ high heinous standard shouldΒ  be compared to other villains from the same franchise and not toΒ villains that come from My Little Pony.

I love British TV series but it took me en embarrassing long time and subtitles to figure out that they don't call older woman" Mom " and the word was Ma'am all along.

English isn't my native language (not even my second language). But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.

What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?

I don't know if this question has been asked before but I will ask it anyway. What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?

Some films try to cram wayyyyy too much into too little and feel overstuffed as a result, personally, I think the recent Matt Damon film Stillwater would have been better as a crime miniseries since there was just too much put into the film it felt overstuffed and questions were left unanswered

What films would you say?

I feel like the Witcher series is the bar for fantasy TV series for now

We just finished the second season and I feel like the second season is just as good if not better than the first season. I've read the books up to where they're at in the show. There's a lot of changes, especially in the second season, mainly expanding and adding characters (the broad strokes are still pretty similar), but I think overall they're more positive than negative. What does everyone else think?

Hawkeye the TV series made my deaf sister happy.

I have a 13 year old Deaf sister. She's been Deaf all her life. We watch a lot of movies together. It's one of the things she can actually enjoy doing with other people. We've seen all the Marvel movies and series and she's watched them too. Anyway. When she saw Hawkeye was hearing impaired she beamed with a smile because she felt he was like her now. I too love how the show handles deaf and hearing impaired characters. It really gives representation to the deaf and hearing impaired people in the super hero world.

Just wanted to share as this was something that just made me smile.

Riverdale remains the worst tv series ever made in this generation.

It also might be one of the worst things ever made in human history. Like It was written by edgy preteens, they have 1000 storylines at the same time and unnecessary subplots, there's no character development and non of the characters have actual personality or chemistry, they're all so bland and unrealistic. everyone's acting is awful literally every actor in this show is BAD. Honestly, never felt this way to any show or movie, it needs to be taken down from television and get canceled and never be renewed for another season.

How the heck are they going to wrap the Expanse (TV series) up in the few remaining episodes?

Before the season started, >!I assumed they would pretty much just drop the Laconia plotline altogether and wrap with the Inaros conflict in the Sol system. But we're spending quite a bit of time on Laconia setting up a storyline that there is definitely no room to see all the way to completion. So what's going on? Dare I hope they're setting up a series of movies or something? !<With so few episodes left, I just can't figure out how they're going to tie it all up.

Why I can't get on board with this (TV)series...

This show has failed to fulfill its primary obligation in adapting the books to a visual medium: it has neglected the source material to advance the personal politics of the show writers, and it has done so with overt contempt for the mechanics of the universe and the characters created by Jordan. The following are just a few examples:

β€’ Lan breaking down like that (read book 5, chapter 53. He didn't cry then, he would not cry over axe bro going all hirakiri on himself) β€’ Using the oath rod like that β€’ Moraine opening the ways with channeling(Uhhh... Loial is standing right there) β€’ Logain seeing Nynaeve channel β€’ The notion that there has ever been a turning of the wheel in which the dragon was not Lews Therin(OR WAS FIVE FREAKING PEOPLE?!)

There is no way you can revere the amount of thought that Robert Jordan put into this series while also thinking you can just eschew all of his plot lines for ones of your own devising. There is also no way you have time to develop all of these contrived sub-plots, but you don't have time to include more of the actual plot. I can't understand how any true fan of the books can appreciate what's being done here, and I don't believe you can respect Jordan and respect what Judkins is doing with his life's work.

I just discovered the TV series "The Orwell" and I'm loving it

EDIT: Yes, I meant "The Orville".

At first it looked just like a Star Trek parody or a comedy set in space, and it definitely has both of those elements, but it's a lot more than that. It tackles some pretty heavy topics interleaved with some of the wittiest humour and loughing out loud moments I've seen recently.

The episodes are very different in tone from one to the other. "Majority Rule" for example felt like a Black Mirror episode and is a great portrayal of society driven by social media and popularity ranking.

It has a very low critical reception but a high viewers rating. What is yours?
