Looking for small pistols ideal for a small frames guy to conceal

CC holder here, I've always carried my Glock 43 in an Alien Gear IWB holster, but usually move it to the small of my back.

I think I'd like to try a pocket holster gun, but am not sure what to try. I've got the smallest Glock, so I suppose I'd have to look into a revolver? Maybe like a S&W Bodyguard?

Any pros or cons? Any pistol recommendations?

When a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter helps a neighbor get a concealed carry permit for a gun, and then fearfully seeks help because the gun-owning neighbor has become unstable, is it a) an ideal post for /r/LeopardsAteMyFace? or b) an unfortunate coincidence that's nobody's fault?

##Background

The Second Amendment of the US Constitution (also referred to in the thread as the 2nd Amendment or 2A) declares that "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This hideously awkward sentence has been the fulcrum of nearly 250 years of debate over the role and availability of firearms in American public life. The Amendment has also become a centerpiece of a particular strain of usually right-wing American identity politics.

A concealed carry permit is a license, variably granted by state or local governments through processes that differ from place to place, to carry a concealed firearm or (sometimes) other weapon on one's person in public. This permit is distinct from permission to own a firearm at all.

/r/LeopardsAteMyFace is a subreddit based on a famous tweet satirizing the dismay of certain voters when they discover that the policies for which they voted could also be used to hurt them. "'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party." The subreddit collects examples of people having similar experiences or making similar complaints.

##The Thread

The full thread follows a screenshot of a "totally pro 2A" person who vouched for their neighbor during a police interview about that neighbor's application for a permit to carry a concealed firearm. Now the neighbor is paranoid and threatening, and the onetime advocate now "kinda doesn't feel safe living next door to a nutjob with a handgun;" 52k upvotes say this is an extremely hungry leopard indeed, but not everyone is convinced.

Multitastinkg as a flattering idealization of work performance and concealment of exploitation

Multitasking is one of the biggest lies of society and one of the worst habits. Because it means to delay the mindfulness and postpone a life in harmony with nature on another time. Because only a life in mindfulness provides welfare and well-being. This is in our nature. We did not do anything better in life without paying attention. And that's the point: to make the best of it and with mindfulness!

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

A job for a deathworlder [Chapter 38]

[Chapter 1] ; [Previous Chapter] ; [Wiki + Discord]

Chapter 38

β€œThe door is closed,” Curi unhelpfully informed their comrades while staring up at the absolutely massive gate, separating the airlock of the shuttle dock from the interior areas of the Great Community Station.

Shida smacked her lips, pressing herself as flat as she could against the wall of the building they used for cover, in order to remain close enough to the gate in case it opened. Curi had been by her side, less careful about not being seen while briefly peeking around the corner to survey the current situation, before falling back towards their more massive company, who had to stay further back in cover as to not draw any attention to them. Of course, Shida and Curi stuck out from the crowd more than Moar or Congloarch did, however they were still harder to spot overall as long as they tried to conceal themselves.

β€œWe are too early,” Shida agreed with Curi, staring at the sealed edges of the pretty much impenetrable safety-door. β€œLooks like we’re going to have to wait.”

β€œLet’s just hope we’re not too late,” Congloarch commented in a low rumble, his eyes erratically scanning his barren surrounded, limited by the concealed space of their hiding place between the walls of two unevenly scaled buildings, one of which had clearly been only recently rebuilt while the other one showed plenty of signs of aging in scratches and discoloration along its exterior.

Under one of his huge arms, the giant was carrying two large suitcases of very different manufacturing. One was made of a sturdy, rough, grey cloth that was supported by metal and leather braces on its edges to give it structure. The other was looking more like a huge, brown leather pouch with a sturdy metal clamp keeping it shut.

James’ and Shida’s belongings had been stashed exactly where she had arranged with the Roosh’Gaack. Luckily, they kept their word.

β€œYou know, saying that isn’t very helpful,” Shida annoyedly admonished the tonamstrosite, managing to keep her voice to a low hissing instead of straight up yelling at him like she wanted to do. Of course, they could also be too late. Or that door could never open, since James was already dead on the curb on the other side of the st

First Handgun Shortlist Advice

A few months ago I fired my first handgun, and now I'm trying to put together a shortlist for guns to track down at my various local rental ranges to try out before my first purchase. I'm looking for:

  • 9mm, full size
  • Budget: up to ~$1.1-1.3K
  • Role: HD, range, possible various short-term SHTF if needed.
  • Reliability: Higher end within my budget, looking for more the "stick it in snow & mud, then wallop it with a sledgehammer and it'll still reliably put bad guys down" style of high-end as opposed to the "finely tuned for match precision so that you can empty a whole mag at a paper target but only find one bullet hole" high-end.
  • Good rails for mounting a flashlight.
  • To future proof it for long-term plans, both Optics-Ready and Suppressor ready, with a holster available somewhere that could hold all of it(not really to conceal).

So far what I have on my list is the FN 509 Tactical (the gun I shot), HK VP9 Tactical, and the Beretta M9A4 or M9A3 with some sort of slide cut. Ditching the red dot would not be ideal but willing to for something like a USP Tactical, and also willing to get a non-threaded barrel if it's possible to have it threaded or replaced with a threaded barrel down the line.

Don't have much of an opinion on polymer vs. metal frame or striker vs. hammer, but would love a few of both to try to get a feel.

Personality is a huge part of what makes a character attractive

After seeing a lot of fanservice in manga/anime, I've come to the conclusion that most writers and animators are under the impression they can arouse their audience just by randomly shoving a woman's breasts or ass in front of the screen. I'd be lying if I said I've never been turned on by a scantily-clad or fully nude woman in a movie or show before, but over the years I've noticed that my sexual interests have changed. When I was a young teenager I would become aroused by pretty much anything, but now that I've entered my mid-twenties I'm no longer sexually excited by a clumsy main character accidentally falling on some breasts or seeing a woman changing her clothes.

"I see what you're saying! Instead of exposing the body of an attractive character to the audience all at once, it would be better to excite the viewers over time to gradually intensify their arousal."

In the same way foreplay is vital to having good sex, concealing a character's body is essential to sexually exciting the audience. However, while it's true that hiding a character's body can be seductive, I argue that a good personality has the potential to be even more arousing. Let me clarify that I'm not claiming this applies to everyone: I'm sure there are people who couldn't care less if a female character has a lousy personality so long as the animators/writers expose her body for the viewers to see. Let me provide a personal example to explain my reasoning:

The first time I saw Rem from Re:Zero I viewed her as being incredibly cute. She has an adorable voice, an appealing body, and behaved respectfully to everyone except the main character. However, there's a scene in episode six that reveals to the audience Rem has been repeatedly murdering Subaru. She even goes so far as to heal him after bisecting his leg just so she can continue torturing him for information. The context behind this scene makes her actions slightly more understandable: she was under the impression Subaru was working with either the witch cult or a rival faction. Even so, the cruelty she displayed in this scene completely killed the attraction I felt for her. I know there are many anime fans who aren't turned off by such personalities, but from my point of view a character that can torture someone, take their life, and not feel the slightest bit of remorse is the furthest thing from sexy imaginable. Even if a character behaving wickedly doesn't prevent you from bei

Metal roofs, are they worth it?

I am located in London. Currently in my mid 30s, and plan to stay in this house hopefully 40-50 years. Our current shingles are 10 years old, and unfortunately look like pretty low quality. Had my gutters replaced recently and the installers estimated I had about 3 years left on it.

I've contacted as many roofing companies as I can to get quotes for a metal roof.

I hear newer shingles are better and can last 20 or so years. My thing is I don't want to deal with getting a roof replaced another potentially 3 times total (now, mid 50s, mid 70s). If I get a proper metal roof it should last my lifetime here (50 years say).

From what I have researched I should not get the metal roof installed over the existing shingles (a common practice it seems), and I should get it with concealed fasteners (as exposed fasteners will fail in 10-15 years or so).

What else should I be aware of, what should I look for and what are the pros and cons of metal?

I should say I understand the concept of say invest the difference between a metal roof and shingle, and then use the money later. But there is a peace of mind just having the roof done and not having to deal with contractors again (I've had less than ideal experiences with having work done to the house so far). Also every 20 years the next shingle roof will just continue to be more expensive. As a public sector employee I fully expect my wages to be stagnant for the remainder of my career.
