A list of puns related to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand (film)"
What a fun movie!
I wanna have a retro date with someone and I want to dance with her
Yeah oh I'll something you tell
You'll I think understand
I when say something that
I wanna hand your hold
I wanna hand your hold
I wanna hand your hold
I just watched the movie so I could listen to the episode, and the police in the movie felt like more of an ominous presence watching it today than they likely would've if I'd watched it earlier this year. This summer was defined by the constant protests against police misconduct and brutality, and at these events, I saw people engaging in peaceful protest being improperly harmed by police - tackled or shoved to the ground, pushed around, and bludgeoned with batons. More vicious instances have been caught on camera and experienced by others, including use of rubber bullets, shields, and vehicles to threaten and/or cause harm.
While the police in I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND don't engage in this misconduct, I couldn't help but think of the behavior we saw this summer. During all the hotel business they're the main obstacle to our protagonists, and even though our protagonists were never put in serious harm's way, images such as a cop's shadow being cast on a wall felt more threatening than the text implied. And the moments where the police are thwarted or attacked - Wendie Jo Sperber kicks one in both the ankles causing him to collapse to the ground! - felt more cathartic than the text implied. After seeing cops behave antagonistically against people all summer, and at least here in NYC even skirt mask-wearing in defiance of the mandates/norms, it was satisfying to get some cop-bustin' action.

And when I touch you I feel happy inside
The first time I watched Grilled Cheesus I skipped his performance because I used to skip slow songs. I have the song in my playlist so I knew the lyrics and the emotion but I also had very little memory of the episode overall. (It was as if I had watched it for the first time.)
When Kurt sung, I bawled my eyes out and my mom even had a tear or two escape her eyes.
