A list of puns related to "Highway hypnosis"
Anybody else experience riding along highways then ending up at a stop but you don't remember half the trip there?
I went up to the mountains to camp with a few friends and on the way home, we separated and it rained on me. I was fine since i was wearing my gear, not tired at all but it was 10pm then.
I remember leaving the mountain roads into the highway but I don't remember exiting up until the point where I was close to the gas station which was around 2 miles away. As I stopped, i panicked a bit and checked everything but I was fine, no scratches, no nothing. Felt like I went into a wormhole or something lol
PS. this never happened to me before and since the only time it did late last year, it never happened again.
Am I crazy...they did not play Highway on any of the 6 nights right?
I may have nodded off a few moments but I went though the set list after as well.
Recently learned about something called highway hypnosis, defined as:
"Highway hypnosis, also known as white line fever, is an altered mental state in which a person can drive a car, truck, or other automobile great distances, responding to external events in the expected, safe, and correct manner with no recollection of having consciously done so"
But what about Queue Hypnosis? I'll be browsing reddit or watching yt while waiting for queue and then boom my league client pops open in champ select but I have zero recollection of accepting queue. Anyone else with me?

I had a long distance relationship with my girlfriend who had to move to Arizona because her mother had nobody out there after her father passed away. We decide to move out there, I would go later than her. I live Right outside Chicago so I was gonna take Route 66, I was going to make it a 2 day trip, I was gonna stop in Oklahoma or Texas maybe. I didnβt have much stuff, I live in a teeny apartment, I had a one of those U-haul things you two with your car. I set out on my journey with my dog, a small French bull dog, a few cans RedBull and 2 big bags of Funyuns. I was good for about 7 hours, then I got a little sleepy, I hit Oklahoma and was almost ready to hit up a hotel, this is where things got fuzzy. I was on my 3rd and final Red Bull, thatβs the last thing I remember. I unconsciously drove from around Oklahoma City to right next to Santa Fe. I woke up when my dog started to bark and hopped on my lap. When I came into consciousness, I didnβt know where or who I was for about 5 seconds and then I realized I was being tailed by a police officer or a state trooper or something who had a megaphone and was saying pull over for about 5 minutes, he said he was about to call backup because I wasnβt stopping. When I was fully back to myself, I was about to cry while hyperventilating. I was so confused about everything, I thought I fell asleep behind the wheel and was still in Oklahoma. I explain to the officer that I must have fell asleep behind the wheel and that I was so sorry. He must have thought I was high or drunk, he ask me a few questions, drivers license and registration, he asked my name, age, how many fingers he was holding up. He then asked me where I was driving from, I told him Illinois, he then said that I was very far from home as he wrote stuff down on his note pad, I then said Oklahomaβs not too far from Chicago. When I said that, he paused and took a long look at me and said if I could please step out of the vehicle, grab my dog and lock my car and told me to give him the keys, he then patted me down and put me into his car and took me to the station. I was very scared and confused. when we got to the station, he took me into a room and told me that I was in New Mexico, and told him that was impossible. He then told me about highway hypnosis and how that was the only logical explanation. He explained it in depth and I started to understand but was still in denial that I had drive that far unconscious. It was 4 in the morning and he gave me a

For example, picture this: One year, three months, and twenty-six days ago, you drive down the Highway of Legends. You zone out listening to an old tape deck twenty minutes before a suicidal deer runs in front of your Jeep.
Picture this: By the time you snap back to reality and slam on the breaks, you realize the deer not only moved away but calmly climbed over the hood of your car and down the trunk like a staircase.
Picture this: You get to your cabin to bring back the groceries for your kids but the house is unrecognizable. Your spouse and three sons hang green sparkling cables on the walls and stare through the chimney with an ecstatic look on their face. They donβt see you. When you try to tear down a wire, your hand wonβt make contact with it.
Picture this: Two months later, you finally leave for good. You canβt touch the new kitchen and you canβt touch the new phones and you canβt touch your new family. You walk down the highway with a set of old walkie talkies and a cantine.
Picture this: You approach a city only to find every person in the nude, their iridescent skin twinkling against the candy-colored domed homes. Every few miles, you see a ragged woman draped in a hide or a young man in his sailorβs uniform. They are unacknowledged by the public just as you are.
Picture this: One year, three months, and twenty-six days later, you live in deserted homes of ancient technology with other victims of their own untimely subconscious whirlpools. To your right is a ghost of the upgrade before the Age of Enlightenment. For her upgrade, she stared at the swinging pendulum of a grandfather clock. To your left is a Neolithic man who was once mesmerized by a fire as humans collectively understood agriculture.
Picture this: My Y2K generator powers my chunky desktop with the dial-up Internet run by my fellow lost souls. Itβs been one year, three months, and twenty-six days. I hope you can read this.
I had some trouble finding actual research on what goes on in the brain during highway hypnosis. This issue leads to many fatalities each year. I recently experienced it once. All I could remember was getting out of my workplace parking lot and being home in my garage. Its amazing, scary and strange all at the same time.
What causes this problem??
Do any of you drivers have a hard time keeping your eyes open when driving straight for long distances?
Does any regular(everyday) meth users also suffer from bad bouts of highway hypnosis or falling asleep hile driving? If i stop looking at the road it dont feel tired at all and can be pretty stimmed but once i start looking down the road ahead of me thats when i start nodding again.
Then you see that you are still in first gear.
