A list of puns related to "High fantasy"
I have one episode left of season 2 and i seriously love all of them. My plan was to watch crown of candy next but am open to other suggestions if there are more campaigns with all of them
Basically I'm a complete newcomer to the game, and all I know about it is that it looks fun, and that I love the way this guy Brennan is DMing it, as its called. Can I pick stuff up by watching their Fantasy High series?
What would be some ways to pick up the rules and whatnot?
Thanks a lot!
I fucking love this shit. Iβm so sad I never joined my friend for DND when I was younger. Iβve been on a binge and am just starting episode 16 after finding it 2 days ago. Brennanβs storytelling is just too good.
Holy fuck I love watching DND now
I'm sure this has been talked to death about but this just seems like the obvious solution. In my opinion the modern games have strayed so far that their connection to Assassin's creed as a series just seems unnecessary and tacked on. I don't think the Assassin stuff really adds to what people appreciate the most of the new stuff. Personally I think as far back as Black Flag... even that should have just been a pirate adventure game, it's juggling so much and if you try to explain to someone out loud what the basic setup of that game is it's just immediately clear that there's some fat that could be trimmed off. And as someone who fell in love with the original titles growing up I would love to get to revisit that world with some added polish. A return to basics would be so sick.
edit: Thank you for all these suggestions! I appreciate it.
Would love a hard sci-fi book about hackers that feels like wizards slinging spells at each other.
I guess hard sci-fi + wizards is oxymoronic but any intense, realistic hacker books would be awesome.
Thanks for recommendations.
As we can see from the lord cards, Kostaltyn's campaigns will consisist of wild eyed preacher men leading low tier cost effective workhorses like horse archers, bowmen, gunmen, very low fantasy vibe.
Its also probable that the building chains will further reinforce this 'vibe' due to his incentive to increase his hero cap.
Kataryn, counter to this, specialises in wizards and high tier magical units like the Ice Guard. Likewise, the building chains favored when playing her will likely support this theme, because it is likely her hero type will also be built in the same structure as the high fantasy units like Ice Guard.
So if you liked oldschool kislev, pick kostaltyn, if you like new icebear kislev, pick Kat.

I think they might be related but Iβm not sure and i donβt want any spoilers for fantasy high.
Title says it all. Looking for high fantasy books that have spooky elements in their world building, bonus points if you get a good amount of that creepy in the story. The more bone chilling, teeth chattering, bladder squeezingly horrifying the better
Okay, so I finally had time to finish Unsleeping City 1 and while some of my skepticism was proven right... y'all were right overall. The characters were fucking perfect. The set pieces and that last batter blew my mind. I still didn't connect with the overall plot but really was moved by Kingston, Kug, and the Plug.
I think Lou's and Murph's dramatic acting in this season was unbelievably amazing. It really elevated the season for me. Zac really pulled off Ricky and made me laugh out loud so many times. I'd have to say Kingston is now my favorite D20 character I have encountered (with Fabian 2nd). Lou just does the damn thing every time he is on screen.
I can't wait to continue my main campaign journey in the order they were released and to watch my first D20 season live as it airs!!! (Yes, yes, yes, I will get to the side campaigns soon! I promise.)
Note: I'm 7 episodes in (The Friendship Section)
After Fantasy High, I watched the first episode but didn't really take too it. I've come back to it after a while and have watched some of the other seasons and I regret not checking out sooner.
The free flowing story, with no restrictions for when or how long combat takes is a really nice change of pace. Also, pretty sure this is the hardest I've laughed for a season far and I'm only 7 episodes in.
I do have some slight problems though with characters like Kristen, it can get a little too "LOL XD random!?" and they've been close to ruining some really solid moments but they did it for when Fabian and his maid talk before confronting James. It was a really sweet convo, and for some reason made unnecessarily awkard and pointless by Kristen like they needed to cram themselves into that moment.
Iβm 33 and my friends and I want to start playing DND even though we never had experience before. I was selected to be DM and was recommended to watch D20.
Holy shit. Fantasy High was ridiculously moving and Iβm shocked by how good something like this could be. The acting. The set pieces. The plot. I literally feared how when Riz discovers the truth about his father.
My rankings of cast/characters:
3/4 (tie). Zac/Ally
Emily
Murph
I love βem all. But the first four really fucking blew me away.
1 episode into Unsleeping City now. Didnβt connect as much but damn Iβm excited.
Edit: the disconnect is the setting. I feel the same watching the Syarstruck trailer. Thatβs not to say I donβt enjoy it.
What did that Halfling dad say to everyone in fantasy high about laws. I forget the quote
Summary: Mithrilverse ($Mithril) is a fantasy game based metaverse token on the Binance Smart Chain network launched on November 9th 2021. We are an organic community with the goal of creating a gaming metaverse with cross-game NFT item compatibility and progress saved on the blockchain. We value transparency and in pursuit of that goal, all of our development and marketing discussions are held publicly on our discord with input welcome from any community member. In a matter of a few weeks, our community has quickly ballooned into an incredibly active space with loads of development. We have just released our exclusive staking platform and our risk-free pool lottery. Our team is working passionately to release more projects in the near future! Come and join the Mithrilverse!
V1 Apps: The Mines of Wagmi allow staking your Mithril to mine Ore. Ore will be used widely as a currency in the Mithrilverse, including in upcoming games and markets, as a way to extract value from your Mithril without having to sell it . Ore will not replace Mithril, but will augment its economy with a tax-free spending option.
Greatwood Mere will allow pooling of Mithril in a risk-free lottery. Your chances of winning are proportional to the amount of Mithril pooled and the time spent in the pool during each lottery event. Potential prizes are Mithrilverse exclusive NFTs.

Feel free to ask us anything in this thread!
Hi all; I have been slowly getting back into writing and I've been trying a very prose-heavy style, which is my favorite kind to read. This is the first appearance of the antagonist in my story; whom I tried to style in a different way than many fantasy villains, by making him withered and weak, as if he had a fall from glory. Tell me what you think!
"ValkΓ΄l slept. It was all he could do; age had crippled this form he wore, like a sheet growing thinner and thinner over time, until it was nothing more but threads, like the spidersilk that clung in the shadowy corners of his chambers. Even they did not speak to him anymore; the spiders, ancient in their dark wisdom, retired themselves to their cobwebs, spinning whispered secrets where no one could see.
ValkΓ΄l slept, the last remnant of a distant age, and even his name from those past years had been forgotten. He had taken a different name, although it had quite lost its meaning, and his servants and squires and little spies only called him βmasterβ or βlordβ. Most never spoke to him at all; they feared him and his voice, but most of all, that he was nothing more than a pair of fog white eyes, their sight freezing to behold, floating on a gaunt, pale face, upon which a bladed crown sat poignant on his brow. Only his hands, long with sinew and bone, ever flinched in these empty chambers. He never blinked; ever watching the shadows dancing in the corners of his eyes, even whilst asleep.
ValkΓ΄l slept, and he dreamed. He dreamed of the sun on his face; its rays warm and pleasant, instead of the biting white flames that seared his ghostly flesh. It was grass he felt beneath his bare feet, and soft dirt, and when he spread his toes his skin did not threaten to crack and bleed, and he felt no pain under his soles. Wind, cool and sweet with summer scent, blew in his face and through his long black locks, which were not grey wisps of thread from a broken scalp. He coveted wind; spring breezes with golden pollen and summer gales, autumn gusts carrying vibrant leaves of a dozen colors and winter chills. The only wind that he felt in the waking world was musty and damp, carrying the smells of dead forest and old, slick stones into his chambers, and it never was warm.
Tears; he felt them streak his face; desperate tears that burned as he cried them. He fell to his knees, clutching fistfuls of the earth beneath him. The hem of his royal, ruby red gown would be stained, but it did not matter; ValkΓ΄l knew it was nothi

Flexible because my setting will probably have a lot of unusual archetypes and lots of custom spells. I already looked at SWADE and d6 fantasy, but looking for more suggestions I might not be aware of.
Now imagine if gate was really is a high fantasy world, and the way the author execute the plot and the world very well and more competent as he focus more on the story then some blatant propaganda, along with using some actual logical stuff they do.
well im putting this because i have seen that most modern vs fantasy and technological superior vs inferior always end with fantasy and technological inferior got themselves curbstorm so damn easy.
Is this even possible? My husband is a huge fan of high fantasy books and I just canβt get into them. I did love all the Tolkien books, but thatβs about it. I do love Neil Gaiman and Dianna Wynne Jones. My favorite books as a kid were the Cimorene books, so Iβm definitely open.
I got bored of Dune after the first book, ditto Game of Thrones. Recently I tried Priory of the Orange Tree and gave up. I hated the Discworld books despite multiple attempts.
I notice a lot of them use a type of artificial, stylized speech pattern Iβd call βkind of medieval courtβ and that often loses me.
If you have any that you think I might get into, Iβd appreciate it!
I am currently reading the Final Empire from Branden Sanderson but actually i did not like it so much. It feels like child book ( i am so sorry i could not find proper word). So i am looking for an adult high fantasy book in middle age times. I am not interest any sexual content but i want to see the main character feels defeat, pain, shame, all other bad stuff and after that improve himself/herself. Overcome all difficulties with experience or with another things but not with luck or the secret power come from nowhere. For example i really liked Name of the Wind from Patrick Rothfuss but second book was disappointment, not bad but not as good as the first one. I read Elantris from Branden Sanderson again, the beginning of the book was not bad but final was completely rushed.
Good evening,
We are in need of an artist to design us about twenty assets that can be used for a map for one of our author's works. This map will be made available in certain editions of a published book - adequate credit will, of course, be provided and there is definitely a potential for future work.
We have a budget of $150 - this is, of course, just an estimate. We can be very flexible on this. The assets themselves do not need to be highly detailed, but more along the lines of unique city markers, runic symbols, etc. - the map will be set in a high fantasy world. We pay via PayPal Business, and there would need to be a contract just so everyone involved is protected. The map itself is already created, we just need some assets to give it more of a unique kick to it.
If you're interested, send us some examples of your work and we'll go from there!
Thanks!
Hey! I always loved the general barbarian, tribal portrait of orks in World of Warcraft, both in the games and in the movie. Is there any book, preferably high/epic fantasy, but any fantasy genre is fine, that has orks as something other than just dumb and violent beings? Bonus points if they aren't the bad guys. Thank you!!
Looking for someone who is good with architecture/design to take on a structure for a D&D campaign I'm running. Looking for something like this - https://i.pinimg.com/originals/70/83/5c/70835c62d2764248dee7989531b1d4bf.jpg
Hello, I hope Iβm not breaking a rule by posting this, but I really need the input of others.
Iβm trying to conceptualize a world with Latin America based folklore and influence for my MFA thesis novel. Growing up, I always wanted to see a brown-flavored Middle Earth or Narnia. Still do, which is why I want to undertake the task myself. Others have done Latin-based magical realism well, but high fantasy is still predominantly European-based. Iβve found nothing from Latino authors the scale of what Tolkien, CS Lewis, or George R R Martin have accomplished.
The problem Iβm running into is whether or not it makes sense to include Spanish terms throughout the lore, since the world should be its own, of course. I foresee that should I forgo Spanish-derivatives, the inspirations behind the world would be missed, thus missing my target audience.
Am I overthinking this? Iβm very curious to otherβs thoughts. I recently read Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova, the closest thing Iβve discovered so far to what Iβm going after, but even she has Spanish naming conventions in her created world that donβt quite make sense being there. I would argue that whatever translation of a book you read, language is consistent throughout the narrative, maintaining the immersion. Going to and fro two real languages may break that.
Thanks in advance! Thisβll be a huge help :)

Edit
An example, if it helps show my issue:
If I name a mountain La Alta (The tall one), why would residents of this world call it that in an English-delivered book?
Whatβs the difference between Epic Fantasy and High Fantasy? Do they mean the same thing? Iβve always thought of them both as just Fantasy stories or settings that arenβt our world. So secondary worlds. But is there a difference between Epic and High Fantasy? Or are they both just what I mentioned before. Iβve also heard that Epic Fantasy refers to Epic stories and High Fantasy just means set on a different world. What is the difference between these two and what have you always thought of them as?
I absolutely love LotR and have just rewatched the entire trilogy, but I'm still craving more of that sort of movie with an adventure-based plot immersed within a large fictional world with deep lore. However, I found that many of the older movies of the fantasy genre I stumbled upon seem to be made for kids--however great they may be, I want sth that is more serious, just like lotr. Maybe I'm wrong and just haven't found the right ones, so any suggestions?
ps. I'm already aware of the Hobbit
Hey everyone,
which is the most simulationist system you know that allows representing a Lord of the Rings like power level (from Frodo swinging his dagger to Balrog shattering the halls of Moria)?
I'd like to ask for your thoughts on the prologue for my new WIP. It'll be a dual POV story in a near-future setting, following the story of an immortal being and a modern-day drug dealer.
It doesn't make sense to go more in-depth with the context here, since the prologue is quite short and mostly meant to introduce the immortal character (and his predicament) and set the tone.
I'd really like to know if based on these three pages, you'd keep reading or not, and if possible, why.
Thanks a lot!

Hi guys. I've just beaten Nier Automata and I'm currently playing Persona 5 Royal.
Could you recommend me some other must-play JRPGs on PS4?
I prefer modern / futuristic / cyberpunk / sci-fi settings as I'm quite tired of fantasy.
It doesn't mean that I do not love some Final Fantasy games though! I loved the original FF7 and I can't wait to play the remake.
Thanks for your recommendations, guys!
