A list of puns related to "Heinz 57"
There actually arenβt β57 varietiesβ of Heinz ketchup, and never were. Company founder H.J. Heinz thought his product should have a number, and he liked 57. Hint: Hit the glass bottle on the β57,β not the bottom, to get the ketchup to flow. (heinz.com)
It would need to be tested against tapping on other parts of the bottle, and possible by tapping in the same spots on other brands' glass bottles.
We are bringing home our first puppy in 2 weeks! I am feeling pretty nervous and could use some advice on a few things (for now...). We applied a couple of months ago, but I guess I thought it would take wayyy longer and I feel like I need a crash course. I had a dog growing up, as did my wife, and we have been dog sitting a lot for several of our friends/neighbours over the past few years, but neither of us have been responsible for training a puppy before.
A couple of questions I have right now:
- How soon after we bring him home should he go to the vet? He is 6-8 months old and has been neutered and is up to date on his shots so far
- He (along with his siblings and mom, who were previously at a shelter) are currently at a rescue ranch in the US, where they each have a little "room" of sorts, and spend a lot of time in a large fenced yard. We assume we should crate train, although neither of us really have any experience with it. What are some good resources for learning how to do this, particularly with an older puppy/rescue?
- We have 2 cats (12). He has been around cats and is supposed to be "good with cats and kids". We have a plan for how we can keep them separated for the first few weeks, by keeping puppy on the first floor and cats on the 2nd (where their scratching posts, one of their litterboxes, and a water dish currently are and where they tend to hang out, we'll move the rest of their stuff up there as well). Our bedroom is on the 2nd floor, so I guess we'll keep the crate downstairs during the day and move it up to our room at night, and keep our door closed to keep the cats out?
Thanks in advance for any advice....I'm trying to work through the logistics of the first few days now and trying to imagine how much our lives are going to change...!!!

I was at a dive bar tonight and an older gentleman said something about a baby being born with a Heinz 57 finger. Any ideas what this means? This only rings a bell because I heard a girl in my 2nd grade class mention it years and years ago (oddly specific, I know. Memory is a strange thing!) The saying didnβt register again with me until I heard it again tonight, 18ish years later.
You know, once upon a time, I spotted a tiny groove on the bottom of my favorite coffee mug. Was it broken? Nope, it looked as if it had been made that way! And thatβs how this crazy obsession started.
After googling this question, I discovered that tons of things I used every day without thinking twice β were equipped with tiny gizmos Iβd never noticed! And here are 18 discoveries that impressed me the most.
