A list of puns related to "Han Taiwanese"
Basically the title above. My taiwanese mom was basically a fan of Han Kuo Yu and really hated Tsai for some apparent reason, especially during the 2019 Taiwan elections. I'm a ABC+T so I have no fucking clue on how Taiwanese politics works. Just wondering, is Tsai In-Wen really as bad as my mon says or is Han Kuo Yu suspicious (as I saw in a Foreign Policy article)? Also, I'm pretty much leaning towards the liberal/Democrat side of the political spectrum in the US and I think DDP/DPP is more liberal than KMT. is that correct, and is DDP better for society in a liberal's view (especially that I think that Tsai In Wen and the DDP party shes in advocated for LGBT rights in Taiwan)?
Just wondering if I could get any input on this.
A family relative of mine is a US-Taiwanese dual citizen. She is diehard KMT and therefore loves Han Kuo-Yu and voted for Han in January's election - no surprises there.
But.....at the same time, she utterly loathes Donald Trump. What's baffling is that she despises Trump for possessing more or less the same qualities that Han Kuo Yu possesses - Trump's immaturity, wild promises, inane tweeting, dishonesty, ignorance, shadiness, sleaziness, etc.
Sure, some Han fans may love Trump too, but I'm sure there is a significant number of Taiwanese who love Han but hate Trump.
How does that work? Trump and Han are extremely similar people.
Hey y'all! So I pretty much just moved to Taiwan, about a year ago, and I had a question about ethnic Han and Aboriginal relations. Maybe it's because I'm a minority (black and korean) in my own country (USA) and I live in a place (Hawaii) where there are still Native Hawaiians and is rich in Native Hawaiian culture, but I'm often very interested in the relationship between the native people and those who settle alongside them. I was with a group of people and we were all talking and there was point where the Taiwanese guys were hesitant to call the aboriginal dude in our group Taiwanese οΌε°η£δΊΊοΌand instead stuck with aboriginal οΌεδ½ζ°οΌ. I didn't know if this was just a rare situation or it's a normal thing, so I have a few questions (I'm sorry if this is an inappropriate topic, please let me know... but also if there are any aboriginals in here, I'd love to hear your opinion and story!)
How is the relationship between the ethnically Han taiwanese and aboriginals?
Is being "Taiwanese" and ethnically Han thing or do Aboriginals just prefer strictly prefer being called "Aboriginal" instead of "Taiwanese?"
Is this too sensitive a topic..? How do I navigate these waters as a foreigner?
