A list of puns related to "Haka in sports"
Or is it just taught to those who join certain clubs/take lessons etc.?
First off: white dude from the US here.
Iβve always been fascinated by indigenous cultures. I had one friend growing up whose whole extended family are members of the Cherokee nation and whenever they came in from Oklahoma and other parts of the country, Iβd go and listen to them talk about their traditions and practices. American Indian cultures are rich and deep and so very interesting.
Since leaving home, Iβve tried to sit and learn from as many of our American Indian nations as I can. Now, I want to learn more about Pacific island cultures (thanks Dwayne and Jason and Roman for introducing me...) hence my question. I donβt necessarily want to be in a haka, but Iβve never seen it in person and Iβve never had the chance to ask someone that grew up in a culture that performed them.
Just curious about any tribe or nation that performs the haka and what their stance (oral, written, or otherwise) would be for people that arenβt members of the group.
Thanks.
