Well this one’s a doozy.
I work at a restaurant that is hosting one of those kitschy holiday pop ups. You know the ones. During the duration of this event, we are requiring either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test…I’m sure you know where this is going.
I was managing last night and because of a call out, I was also hosting. I don’t mind doing this because people can be real dicks and I’d rather be on the receiving end than one of my other staff.
Well a group of young ladies come in with a reservation. Great! “I just need to see your proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test and I can take you to your table!” Uh-oh. Now let me preface by saying that I am not a short lady. I'm about 6 foot without shoes on, and I had on some boots that have maybe an inch or so heel on them. This girl is maybe 5'3. She gets really close to me and tries to get in my face. Young Karen: "Well NOBODY TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED THAT. I made these reservations OVER A MONTH AGO AND NO ONE TOLD US." Me: "First of all, please back up. You will not talk to me like that or we will be having no further conversation. I'm happy to see a picture of your vaccine card or if you have a portal through your insurance-" Young Karen (interrupting): "NO WE DON'T HAVE ANY OF THAT! IT DOESN'T SAY ANYWHERE ON YOUR WEBSITE WE MADE THESE RESERVATIONS A MONTH AGO NO ONE TOLD US" Me: "I'm very sorry, but it does say on our website, and at the time of your reservation, which I can see you made through [reservation portal] there is a note that these items are required."
Young Karen then turns to her friends and says "LETS JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. (Turns to me) FUCK YOU, YOU LIBERAL BITCH!"
I tell her that I hope her night is as pleasant as she is, and then happily seat another party of 6 that had been very pleasant and patient.
We are practicing an abundance of caution at my restaurant which I'm thankful for. At least 7 other restaurants in my area have had to shut down temporarily because of staff contracting covid. While we have had some scares, I'm grateful that we are taking these extra precautions. I hope that all of y'all are staying safe and happy out there!
Yesterday I went to the store with my boyfriend and as we were leaving, another customer was leaving with their shopping basket in hand. As we walked out we heard one of the employees say “goodbye basket” that made my day haha

A lot of people have convinced themselves that C.H.E.R.U.B. is a bad episode, with some even saying it was a waste of animation that shouldn't have aired. I've heard most - if not all - of the reasons people feel this way, and none of them have made that much sense to me; I don't really think the reasons they give are big enough problems to condemn it as a bad episode. Let's gather around the fire and list them, shall we?
>This episode isn't emotional.
How is that a bad thing? Last I checked, this episode was supposed to be Hazbin Hotel's comedic side show; it's not supposed to be a deep character drama. That's not to say it can't HAVE character drama - far from it - but this show is supposed to be making us laugh, which this episode does. I don't really see how not being emotional is problem with the episode, unless you're expecting every episode to be "Loo Loo Land" part 2 or something, in which case it might be a good idea to temper your expectations.
>It has pacing problems.
I don't agree with that at all. If this episode were trying to do something other than what it was actually trying to do, then I'd see where this was coming from, but since this episode's end goal is trying to make us laugh, I'd say the pacing is perfect for what it was trying to accomplish. Even ignoring that, with the exceptions of episodes 6 and 7, every episode of this show has had some kind of pacing problem, so I don't see how that's enough to condemn this episode as bad.
>It's nothing but filler.
This is PROVABLY untrue on 3 different levels:
- Clips from this episode showed up on the villains' screens in episode 6, meaning that this episode did canonically happen.
- It introduces us to 3 characters who Viv has confirmed will return in the future.
- It not only shows us that Heaven does exist within the Hellaverse, but also that it may or may not have some issues of its own. I'd argue that the number of fans that are not only theorizing that the Cherubs getting the boot means this universe's Heaven isn't the perfect paradise that real Heaven is, but are also theorizing what it could mean for Charlie's hotel plans is proof enough that this episode isn't filler.
Not to mention, people also said that "Spring Broken" was nothing but filler, but episode 6 and especially episode 7 have proved that it did in fact happen, so... yeah, it's probably best to not claim an episode is filler.
