Gall Force Puns

Here's my take on this classic anime movie series. Hope I did it justice.

I'm just wanting something with some cool 80's and 90's animated space battles. Right, so like no CGI in the animation, because full 2D traditional animation is just the best for things like this. Though, I also want a decent story to go with the eye candy of the space battles.

So would you recommend it?

For those of you who don't know, this is my ongoing project to watch and write about all the OAVs on my plan to watch list. This is a very very very long list, it has been over 1 year already! Anyway, I have a twin score rating system. The standard 1-10 is how good I think a show is while the letter score is how much I enjoyed it, whether that is in the way the show intended or not. the letter gradings are as follows:

• A=I enjoyed the hell out of it
• B=I quite enjoyed that
• C=Yeah, I enjoyed that
• D=I'm fairly neutral on it
• E=I didn't find it all that enjoyable
• F=I didn't enjoy that
• G=I hated every single moment of time I had to watch that

• Gall Force: Eternal Story (1986: Artmic, AIC, Animate Film) 1/1 ep.

Gall Force is one of those fairly large, in terms of numbers of entries, franchises that basically no one remembers today outside of the old timers. Quite how it got to be so large I’m not sure because its beginnings are sub-par. Actually, I lie a bit because Eternal Story wasn’t where the franchise began, instead it began with model kits and a photo novel. But that doesn’t matter because the canon story of the franchise begins with Eternal Story. This is a movie length OAV released in 1986 that was the brain child of multiple people. There was Katsuhito Akiyama (Bubblegum Crisis, Inazuma 11, and Pumpkin Scissors) directing. Then there was Sukehiro Tomita (Sailor Moon, Ideon, Mospeada, Kimagure Orange Road, and Do You Remember Love) doing the scripting. Finally there was Hideki Kakanuma (Detonator Orgun), who was the original creator. This is a pretty damn good line up so the results should have been good right? Well they weren’t.

I'd like to read a sci-fi manga with a group of female adventurers/travellers/trouble consultants/special agents, with mostly light-hearted tone, episodic approach, and an old school spirit. Detailed mechanical designs would be a plus as well.

I would strongly prefer a finished and fully scanlated manga over any ongoings.

You guys have read much more manga than me. I believe in your vast and profound knowledge. Please recommend me something.

Didn't happen to the guy I was giving aids to, so it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it happened to me on our second game.

It's suggested to never lock the camera just in case this happens. It's much easier to dictate abilities with an unlocked camera.
