Are you familiar with Alsace (Elsass) in France ?
That part of Eastern France that used to be German. I live here and we’re often teased for not being as French as others, like for example, whenever Germany and France face each other in football or something, I’ll be asked who I’m rooting for, or just be told that my country is playing, speaking of Germany.
I was just wondering how familiar or not you are with this area and its history, or what your thoughts about it were if you ever went there (if it felt a bit like home or whatever) ?
The annexation of Alsace-Lorraine by Germany in 1871 made France forever ennemy of Germany until the end of WW2, and led to the rise of revanchism and militarism in France.
Day 20 of Changing Europe, France Loses Alsace and Lorraine for the Saar Basin with a score of 4. This forces Germany to take on a doughnut-like shape
Renouncing claims on Alsace-Lorraine as Nat France in the Halifax Conference
It's my 2nd try playing Nat France, and I'm went after the commune when the 2nd Weltkrieg kicked off. A while into the war the Halifax Conference pops up, with the first subject being renouncing the claims on Alsace-Lorraine. The negotiations collapses and everyone goes home if you decline(which I did), but what happens if you accept? Do you get any advantage in the Lyon Conference? I noticed you barely get any more land in it if you don't own Brittany.
