What code/software tool is best for webpage manipulation? I.e. a software which fills out a form based off of a user's inputs

I would like to create a software that is able to take a URL from the user, go to the website, scan the webpage and is able to interact with the webpage.

For instance, the software is able to input "Dave" into the "FIRST NAME" box and fill in the other user's details (like date of birth and etc).

From your experience, which code and software tool should I use to achieve this? And why is it better than the others? This is mostly for my own learning benefit and seems like a fun way to learn programming more.

I really need help with this python code for a project :( It is based on working with a .csv file and an HTML form.

I have been working on this project for a while now and I'm stuck, and really can't think of anything. I have a .csv file with a bunch of cars and information about them. What I want to do is end up with a list of the indexes of the cars in my original list which conform to all the criteria applied in the HTML form. I tried doing this through a lot of if/else statements inside of if/else statements and more if/else statements. All the copy-pasting got me to about 15000 lines of code which I think can be done in a much much simpler manner, but I am just not very good at python.

I made a link to download the files I am working with here.

If anyone can help me out in any way, I would appreciate it so so much. I have to submit this rather soon and I feel hopeless and really discouraged, so if you even have any ideas please let me know, and feel free to pm me.

Is it possible to have form VBA code if/then based on a field's current background color as it relates to conditional formatting?

Say, for example, I have a field that has a background color that is set to pink when it is empty based on conditional formatting. Could I set up an if/then VBA code that would say something like this?

If [Field 1] is pink, then [Field 2].value = "Incomplete"

Is this possible? I was trying to guess how to write this in VBA, but it seemed like my code was only based on the field's default back color as defined in properties vs the current back color based on conditional formatting. Is there a way to have VBA reference a field's back color based on its conditionally formatted color? If so, would someone share an example of how that would be written?

many thanks! stay safe!

How would I write VBA code that automatically fills out one form field based on inputs entered into other various fields (in real time) but have the various field inputs update said field based on a priority? (clearer example inside!)

Hello!
I have a question about how to set up some VBA code on an Access form. So I want to lock a field on a form for control reasons. This field is to display the Status of the record. There are 9 other fields that are all intended to have a number in them, if applicable. Let's say these fields are titles as follows on the form:

Q1HIGH, Q1MEDIUM, Q1LOW
Q2HIGH, Q2MEDIUM, Q2LOW
Q3HIGH, Q3MEDIUM, Q3LOW

Now, all of these fields are to have a number entered into the fields depending on how the record is worked by the end user. I want the Status field that I want to lock from manual editing to automatically update based on which of the fields have a # greater than zero in them.

If there are only 'low' #'s present on the form (Q1LOW, Q2LOW or Q3LOW), I would want the Status field to reflect "Low Risk".

If there were any 'medium' #'s filled out on the form, I would want the Status field to change to "Medium Risk". So if there was a mix of low and medium #'s, the presence of #'s in the medium fields would trump the low-risk status.

If there were any 'high' #'s filled out on the form, I would want the Status field to change to "High Risk", regardless of whether there are also 'medium' or 'low' # fields filled out.

Does this make sense? It would be great if adding or deleting of inputs in these fields would update the Status field in real time.

My head feels like it's going to pop trying to wrap my head around this. Can anyone give me a jump start on how this would look in VBA code? Or would/could I do this with conditional formatting?

How to implement form that chooses email recipient based on inputted ZIP code?

Hi, looking for some help implementing a form where a customer would enter their info and ZIP code, and the ZIP code would match up to an email address which we then send the form info to. Don't need anything fancy like address lookup. Just need to be able say, hey, customer 1 entered ZIP 12345, so send to email address leads@dealername.com, customer 2 entered ZIP 54321, so send email to leads@anotherdealer.com, etc.

Sometimes the same email address will be associated with multiple ZIP codes, but no ZIP will have more than one email address associated.

I've searched Google and found a few potential solutions but nothing super straightforward. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My best friend and I discovered we may have the same form of word/concept-based synesthesia?

We're conflicted on whether this counts as synesthesia or not, and I haven't found much trying to look into it on my own. I'm autistic and one of my best friends (u/SampleShrimp) (summoning him in case I miss anything about his experience!) is most likely neurodivergent in some way too.

It occurred to me that words have some sort of feeling to me a while ago, and because I'm not great with abstract stuff, it's taken me a while to be able to piece it together. Most people I've asked agree that words have feeling, but not to this extent. One friend said that trying to wrap their head around it made them uncomfortable and asked me to stop describing it, actually lol

It's kinda like texture and shape, or at least, that's the best way I can describe it. It's for sure some sort of characteristic that makes some words extremely satisfying and others so bizarrely uncomfortable that I go out of my way not to use them.

There's some trace of just basic expected associations that a lot of people have, but we know that it's not just us associating a word with its meaning, because this happens with names and made up words too. The feel of a name also doesn't always line up with what we think about the person behind it, if there is one.

We both agree that the name Dylan is wide and circular, and I would say that it's fairly smooth, like a flat stone. Sample says that it has a circular motion. He feels that some words have direction or movement. For me, it's mainly texture, shape, and sometimes personality characteristics, I think. There's a bit of color too.

You can probably tell from my wording that some words sorta have a stronger, more immediately identifiable feeling, too. I think very very common words are more neutral because I'm desensitized to them, and uncommon or more complex words and names take a moment to process. It can be hard to pin down exactly what I would need to say to convey the feeling of the word, but the feeling is there when I think of it- it doesn't just appear after I have a description.

It's like looking at an abstract piece of art and needing to take a moment to observe it and describe it to someone who can't see it so you can help them get a decent picture of it, but even then, you can't nail every detail.

Here are a few more examples we talked about!

  • I asked him to describe the name Brody, and at the exact same time, we both typed something that equates to 'hairy and soft-textured in an unpleasant way' (sorry if your n

Weekend League Qualifiers aren't form based

I've seen many people say that they are. I've also seen EA say they are. So I decided to message each person after a game to see what their record is. My record + what they messaged back their record back in brackets.

1st game - 1-0 (4-2) 2nd game - 1-1 (didn't reply) 3rd game - 2-1 (1-2) 4th game - 2-2 (didn't reply) 5th game - 2-3 (5-1) 6th game - 2-4 (2-2) 7th game - 2-5 (3-0)

Even when on a -3 streak, I was playing people who were on a +3 streak. It's complete nonsense that weekend league qualifiers are form based

Changes in Form/Run-up based on Distance

Since I'm new to the game, I am hoping to understand how my form/run-up/grip should be changing as I'm getting closer to the basket. So far I think I have my driving form down (at least what I know I should be doing), in terms of x step/pullback/power grip/etc. Fairway shots I'll usually just dial down my driving form, sometimes with more of a control power grip to allow me to follow my line better.

I can throw great up shots from ~150-120 ft, but when it comes down to those shots you need just a little power and mostly finesse (form), I am not consistent at all. As a RHBH, I will usually set my stance and then pull back my right leg a little from my previously thrown disc, then do a little half step (to give me power which I'm pretty sure is wrong here and giving me inconsistencies). As I'm doing the half step with my right foot back up to my disc, I push off with my left foot and begin my forward pull through using a controlled fan grip. I know there must be a better approach on this because it just feels weird and obviously not consistent.

When I'm close enough I'll try to do a putt stance where I strongly push off my left plant foot and throw/point right to the target as I jump over my disc. I'm getting better with this putting style and think I need to add more snap to these in order to get it faster and less hyzer. Right now I tend to be left or right when I want to be high or low. I need to start recording my throws to compare them, once I fully understand what I should be doing. Any insight on your mid/approach and putt stance/form is appreciate, especially details outlining the changes from one to the next and focus points. TY! πŸ™πŸΌ πŸ₯ β›“

Absolute beginner in any form of coding. Need advice to start learning to code for a text based mobile game

So I have a great idea for a mobile game. I have planned out 90% of what I want from it and what I want it to do.

The game is text based. Would need to use a sort of large scale chess board (like a map) as coordinates. Would need a random number generator (haven't decided values and parameters yet). I would also want these numbers/coordinates to be online (saved to a server).

So it sounds pretty simple (I can imagine). But where do I get started. What language is the best (android and ios). I gathered that java would be easy and suitable for my needs.

Whatever it is, what resources would be the absolute best starting point for me learning the language? I'm willing to put in all the time necessary to learning.

Submit form based on zip code?

I've got a client who needs a "locator" form on their website, where the user will fill out the form with information and also enter their zip code. Then based on their zip code, the form will submit the response to the closest rep, and also email the client.

For example, I go to this website, fill out the form and put in zip code 00001. The form then needs to locate the nearest rep to me (no matter how far), then display that reps information on my screen, and also email the rep with the form response, and the company needs to be emailed as well.

It needs to be by zip code because some states have multiple reps, and it's also international.

Can I do this with a plugin like gravity forms? Or what do I need to do to get a form like this to function properly?

Thanks.

For me at least turn based gameplay gives the feeling that the characters are working as a team, that others forms of gameplay can't replicate.

I played Yakuza Like a Dragon this year which I thought was amazing, a big change in the gameplay was it's change to turn based, which included a huge change in the story. Yakuza games are known for one character at a time going about beating up people, Like a Dragon changed it to a group going around beating up people.

I played Final Fantasy 7 Remake last year, the change in gameplay from the original is turn based to live action with JRPG style menu mid combat. You control one character and the rest of the party are AI controlled.

Now you may prefer gameplay that isn't turn based, but whenever the actual story of the game is not about one character, but a group of characters, I find that turn based whether it's Persona 5 style or on a grid in a game like Divinity Original Sin 2, can't be beat when it comes to making it feel like it's a group of people working together. Games like the Final Fantasy Remake or the YS series where you control one character at a time in live action, even if you switch characters every once in a while, you still end up focusing on one character at a time and the rest of the party feels like tag a longs, I've never got the party feel from live action single player.
