A list of puns related to "Forensic polymer engineering"
Iβm currently a junior ChemE and it looks like Iβll only have room in my schedule to pursue one of these options. Which certificate do you think would be more beneficial in industry as a ChemE? Iβm also on track to get a chemistry minor as well if that helps
I am having trouble solving the following problem below. I usually have the ability to do some work for the problem and then get stuck, as if you check my history I rarely post just the question alone. In this case, I do not remember covering this in class, and I have checked my textbook:
Principles of Polymer Systems, Sixth Edition
However, when I search for just "Glass Transition" I can not find material to help me solve this. Thus, I am hoping this community will be able to help me break this down and solve it.
I am willing to do the work if you just help guide me in the right direction.
Question:
When 100 g of PVC is mixed with 25 g of plasticizer Z, the glass transition temperature is lowered from 87Β°C (for PVC) to 0Β°C. A mixture of 100 g of PVC with 50 g of Z shows a glass transition temperature of β25Β°C. What glass transition temperature is to be expected from a mixture of 100 g of PVC with 100 g of Z?
Given:
[ 100 g PVC ] mixed with [ 25 g Plasticizer Z ]
Glass Transition Temperature (PVC): 87Β°C to 0Β°C
[ 100 g PVC ] mixed with [ 50 g of Plasticizer Z ]
Glass Transition Temperature (PVC): β25Β°C
Find:
Glass Transition Temperature if:
[ 100 g PVC ] mixed with [ 100 g Plasticizer Z ]
Hey all,
I'm currently on the fence between chemical, materials, and polymer engineering. At the moment I haven't gotten very far into major-specific programs at my university; right now, I'm taking engineering gen eds until I officially declare a major but originally my intention was to go into chemical engineering. A bunch of my professors work in materials and polymers and while what they're doing sounds very interesting I don't think I really understand the specific differences between the fields. Any chance anyone has the background to elaborate? Thanks in advance

About the Company - Bhansali Engineering Polymers Ltd(BEPL) is engaged in manufacturing of ABS and SAN resins which is classified under the category of Highly Specialized Engineering Thermoplastics.
In short they make the resins used in automobiles and refrigerators. Their product is important in making of every automobile.
Management and a brief history of the company - It was Incorporated in 1984, Mr. B. M. Bhansali is the promotor and managing director of the company. He had been in the steel industry for almost 15 years before entering the ABS manufacturing business in 1984. He has received various awards for his work in this field. The company itself has grown at a steady pace under his leadership and will probably continue to do the same.
Important ratios - The company is a small cap with a market capitalisation of 2,484cr. The stock PE is 13.9 and PB is 6.97 which is a little concerning. Company has delivered good profit of 68.51% CAGR over the last 5 years The company also has a good Return on Equity (RoE) of 26.17% in the past 3 years. The dividend yield although is only 0.33%. My opinion - The economy of India is slowly recovering from the pandemic. In this process a new economic cycle has started. This means that if the economy recovers as predicted the amount of disposable income will increase in everyone's pockets. As it has been seen in the past the cycle goes in the following way Beginning of the cycle - Growth in FMCG stocks and consumer related stocks. Middle zone - automobile stocks start rising. 2 wheeler companies see a growth in the first half and then 4 wheeler companies see a growth as 2 wheelers are always cheaper than 4 wheelers and the disposable income increases gradually. Ending - Stocks of premium products start rallying due to the same reason as before.
BEPL is closely related to 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers and as we approach the middle zone it is a great opportunity for the company to increase its revenue and profits. I believe that the management can do that and I personally am bullish on Automobile and Power sectors due to the EV possibility and hence I thought of finding a company somewhat related to the automobile sector
I am thinking of this stock as a long term investment and the stock has a chance of going from small cap to mid cap in the long future. Hence it c

I work at a forensic engineering firm that does vehicle accident reconstruction. In the past we used total stations to survey scenes and vehicles, and we have (more recently) used a Faro 120 for the last 8 years. Within the last two years, we have moved over to drone surveys (Mavic Pro w/ Pix4D) to survey roadways. The drone resolution is sufficient for accidents on flat roadways. We still utilize the Faro 120 for hilly roads and vehicle scans.
We are looking at adding a scanner, or another method, so that we can survey more vehicles. The desired deliverable is a 3D point cloud. A resolution less than 4 mm is OK for this work. We are currently considering adding a Faro M70 because it meets our needs and has a good price point around $25K.
My question: is there another technology or cheaper scanner that we should be considering? I am aware of the BLK360 and donβt like the quality verse cost, so we would still buy an M70. We have some success using photogrammetry but the technology is not yet there. The Faro freestyle (under $20k) is good for vehicles but not large trucks.
Hello All,
I am currently working as a polymer engineer (experienced with plastics, rubber). I have nearly 10 yrs of experience and an advanced degree in the field. I go to work onsite everyday due to company policy and the practicalities of my role. I'm looking for inspiration on how can I shift my career so that I can at least work from home part time, not even full time.
Some ideas: becoming a document review engineer? Any other thoughts? I would really appreciate some peer insights.
Hi there, I was looking for free online material to learn more about polymer engineering. Looking for kind of like an intro to polymers text book or something that would go over the same content. Let me know!
Which one would be more worth my while? I am interested in both fields so I can't decide. Any advice on either would be very much appreciated.
If you are looking for a website to find top information on engineering consulting services, check out the above website. Several very important and useful details about engineering consulting services are offered here. I highly recommend it.
Hello All,
I was wondering if any structural engineers whoβve worked both in forensic and βnormalβ structural engineering could comment on the differences between the two jobs. For context, Iβm a recent PE with 4 years experience in the structural (buildings) industry.
Iβm considering switching to forensics, but want to make sure itβd be a good fit. I enjoy writing technical reports, and being a sort of βdetectiveβ to determine the cause of structural issues. In my regular structural consulting job Iβve had the opportunity to do a couple reports like this.
Questions
One of my gripes with my current job is the level of stress associated with handling fast deadlines and constant changes from architects, owners and contractors. Is this part of forensic engineering as well?
Are the hours more flexible since youβre spending more time writing reports, which could in theory be done from home?
How often do you travel in forensics?
Would you say the best forensic engineers have strong βacademicβ technical skills, or is a lot of it based on industry experience alone?
Thanks in advance! Please feel free to add anything else noteworthy about the industry!
Hello, Iβm a masterβs student in structural engineering looking for a full time job. Iβve been interested in forensic structural engineering, restoration, renovation, and failure investigation for many years. I have done undergraduate & graduate research within the field of forensic structural engineering. Iβm graduating in December 2020 and Iβm looking for a full time job after graduation. I currently live in Chicago but I want to relocate to Atlanta. Iβm having a difficult time finding open jobs (given whatβs currently happening in the world, I understand), but also having a difficult time finding companies that do forensic structural engineering work (as the majority of their work and not a small sector) in Atlanta. Besides WJE, what companies are in Atlanta and who should I be looking at that is willing to hire an entry level engineer next year?? Thank you
I was having a discussion with a mate of mine about what is harder to learn and get started in. He argued forensics and I said reverse engineering. I was wondering what you guys Think? I feel reverse engineering is much harder to get started in, would like to hear you guys opinion.
Sorry for misspelling, english is not my native language.
EDIT I know both can be really complex, but the question is about a beginner getting into these fields. Wich field is harder to get into.
