A list of puns related to "Female genital mutilation in India"
I already have a number of sources, this is a general request for more studies, news articles, and first person testimonies that have an officially source.
Edit: When I am done, it will be posted on all tbe major subs that it is relevant too, including those on the fringes where it may receive interest. (Even twox) so please help if you can!
Thank you very much!
Edit: Here is an initial starting point for my research -
Most commonly FGM type I is limited to "scraping, rubbing and piercing with a needle to produce a drop of blood"
Type II is also commonly less severe than male circumcision (NSFW)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRid7jIUzMY

Of 9,159 women in Egypt 82% of mothers supported type I fgm.

"Research by gynecologists and others has demonstrated that a high percentage of women who have had genital surgery have rich sexual lives, including desire, arousal, orgasm, and satisfaction, and their frequency of sexual activity is not reduced"
"The widely publicized and sensationalized reproductive health and medical complications associated with female genital surgeries in Africa are infrequent events and represent the exception rather than the rule."
The lack of a reduction of the sex drive is because sexual pleasure does not always aff
... keep reading on reddit β‘I listened to a podcast where it was stated that the Bohri community in Karachi practiced it and is still prevalent.
Curious about if it happens in India too.
Maps show the practice to be widespread in Egypt, from where it descends down the Nile into the Sudan, whence it spreads in an east-west belt across Africa at around latitudes 10Β°-15Β° N. In the east, the belt moves beyond Africa to include Yemen and Oman on the Arabian Peninsula. Iraq is a lone outlier in its region. BizarrelyStrangely, the practice is completely absent in the North African countries (Libya, Tunisia, Algeria & Morocco) directly to the west of Egypt.
Another area where it is widespread is Insular Southeast Asia all the way across the Indian Ocean.
EDIT: There has been some criticism over my usage of the word 'bizarre'. I have no desire to cause any kind of offence. I was using the word to refer to the geographical distribution rather than the practice itself. I only intended to use the word in the sense of 'strange' or 'unusual', without any negative comment. Nevertheless, I apologise for the poor word choice. A better word would've been 'unusual'.
