Who are some Asian American musicians or artists or bands?

Who are some examples of Asian American musicians, artists, and/or bands? The only ones I can think of are Kpop artists or ones of mixed heritage in which their asian ancestry is not well known. I sadly cannot think of any mainstream Asian American artists who were born here and grew up here.
Like, there's no Asian American singer that is at the level of Taylor Swift, or Avril Lavigne, or Billie Eilish, or others. Or, maybe there are and I'm just not familiar with them. Can we start a discussion/thread here of Asian American artists and musicians?

American bands on this subreddit?

Hey there, I'm a journalism student at the University of Derby in the UK, and I'm writing a piece about the American Indie music scene. Would anyone in an American band be down for me to interview you at some point today? It can be on discord or zoom or zencastr or whatever's easier for you, and could you send a youtube link or a bandcamp link or something so I can see what kind of music you do? Thanks!

The criteria for "Best American Band" and why the question is challenging.

I saw the extensive list thread on the candidates for best American band. I'm not here to make another list thread but I find the question and criteria itself interesting.

What I noticed was that it's seemingly a lot harder to pick out the "Best American Band" because there's so much different criteria to consider. America has a lot of famous bands overall, but it's hard to pick out bands that hit that same sweet spot of critical acclaim, influence, and widespread popularity whereas the British bands are easier to list.

The closest example I could think of that hit those criteria was Nirvana. As a band, they were practically synonymous with 90's with Kurt Cobain becoming an iconic figure (to his dismay). Nevermind and SLTS being seen as one of the greatest albums/songs.

The candidates that also stuck out to me the most were (in the other thread):

-The Velvet Underground

-The Grateful Dead

-Creedence Clearwater Revival

-The Beach Boys

But then, some names seem to strike the critical acclaim and influence aspect, but don't necessarily have the widespread popularity. Other bands have the widespread popularity, but weren't influential on music in the same way.

Another comment argued that America is more known for solo artists: Bob Dylan, Elvis, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen. Certainly the above artists have major titles or labels associated with them: Bob Dylan is often considered one of the greatest songwriters, while the other artists have their titles of King, The Purple One, King of Pop, The Boss, etc.

My basic questions:

-Why is it so tricky to pick out the greatest American band? (Or maybe, you disagree that it is tricky in the first place).

-What is your criteria for "Best American Band"? Is it the influence, music style(emblematic of America), popularity, critical acclaim, longevity, or something else?

[TOMT] [SINGER] African-American lead singer of a band who died and had a famous daughter

A lead singer of a band, possibly metal or rock? I believe he was black or mixed race. He had a famous daughter who may have been slightly estranged who shared his surname. My brain is remembering him as having died on the 26th of December, although this could be false. I thought it was in 2016 when a lot of well known celebrities (David Bowie, Prince etc) died. I initially thought it was Lenny Kravitz, but he is alive.

I'm going to model for an American metal band's album cover. How much should I ask for?

I'm a fan of this band and they offered me to appear on their album cover. I'm gonna be shot by a professional photographer and then the raw picture is going to be edited by their graphic designer. They are by no means a well known band, but they have quite the potential I'd say. It's the first time I'd do this kind of thing and I'm not sure what compensation/price to go for. He suggested he could give me a price and I could think about if I want to go with that but I wouldn't be able to tell if that would be a reasonable price.

How much should one ask for this kind of things? Thought of asking here, maybe some of you beautiful models would be able to help me with some advice! Thank you!!
