A list of puns related to "Every Day (novel)"
Iβm not a neuroscientist; and frankly Iβm just getting into this myself. But Iβm convinced about this.
I am doing better and one thing Iβve consciously started doing, is purposefully do new things in order to βgiveβ my brain something new to build neuropathways from.
Think about this: if you always walk the same road, you will see the same things, perhaps the same people, likely think of the same things, be in similar moods every day. If you take a new path, your whole perception will be different. You will look around, you will try to expand the map in your mind, you will notice new things, your world will become a little bigger. And you will not think the same thoughts you usually do. You will choose to focus on different things.
If you always do the same things... there wonβt be any new content of the mind. It will be the same, and it will be the same on top of the same.
I used to have a neighbour. He lived in the apartment above mine. He was like 65-70 years old. Although he was getting old, he had a very loud lifestyle. His TV is always loud. And he was an angry man. I donβt think anyon ever came to visit him. He screamed at his TV every time a commercial came on. He screamed at people outside making noise. Every day, he did the same thing. I could literally hear it. And his mind was so narrow. When meeting him, It was obvious that his world was the tiniest, because he sorrounded himself with the same activites day in and day out. He seemed psychotic, but he wasnβt.
I realized that my days were much like his. And it was around this time that I started making this connection in my mind. I saw how I was so incredibly stagnant. It became clearer to me how much I lived the same day, day in and day out. I did not want to become like him. I did not want to have such a narrow mind. And live in a tiny world. I saw that what he did was harming him. And he had probably done it for many, many years.
And so I started to make a conscious effort to do new things as often as I could, in ways I could manage. And I canβt say Iβve ever regretted doing that. It has been rewarding. And I contribute it greatly to why Iβm doing better. My AVPD is pretty severe, by the way.
New experiences doesnβt have to be stenious or traumatizing. It can be small personal challenges, and having the mindset that trying something new is a win in and of itself. It can be literally anything, as long as youβre consciously doing it to get a new experience.
I hope someone feels mo

edit: Read the edit at the bottom first.
I read a bit of this book back in the early 2000s, when I was in high school. And I would like to read all of it now.
All I remember from the book (and I might be remembering some of it wrong), is that we are following a guy living in this society where during the night everyone is moved around to their new lives. Some days he has a wife, some days he's single. Some days he has kids, some days he doesn't. Some days he has to work, and due to automation most jobs don't require a lot of skill, so the kind of work he has to do changes as well.
Due to this ever-shifting life him and everyone else have very fleeting memories and can't usually remember what they did yesterday, much less what they did last week. But one day our protagonist is matched up with a woman that he can't seem to forget. From there the system that previously seemed like a utopia now seems more and more like a dystopian prison of the mind.
I can't seem to find the book on any of the "The best XX dystopian books" lists, so either it's not a very popular book or I'm remembering it all wrong.
Edit: Apparently It's a Danish book called Se Dagens Lys by Svend Γ ge Madsen from 1980. I knew I had read it in Danish, but I assumed it was a translation.
He said "dew outta trees ain't bad!"
βThatβs a hickory daiquiri, doc!β
In heinz-sight, probably wasn't a good idea.
See title. Put in my two weeks notice, and After some half-hearted attempts to make me stay, theyβve decided to punish me for leaving their company it feels like.
Iβm not one to shy from more work & overtime, but this is ridiculous. I have my normal days off and I have things planned on those days because I work swings and a lot of times mixed swing & graveyard, and I usually sleep during my workdays if Iβm not working.
I looked at my new schedule and Iβm working 8 or 12 hour shifts everyday until my last day, with no days off until then. I questioned my supervisor about this, and he texted me that there are βno normal days offβ and he tries to keep it consistent but he couldnβt this time. He told me this schedule is because of me terminating my employment. He then texted me and said if I shred my two-week notice and stay with the company, he will give me my normal days off again.
Iβm straight up thinking of just quitting at this point, fuck making it to the two week mark.
Rant over.
Edit: Hey guys, did not expect this to blow up so crazy. Thank you all for your replies. Yβall have really opened my eyes on what I should do, and Iβll be resigning from my position immediately tomorrow morning.
And I know a lot of people are saying this is fake, trust me I wish it was. Itβs so perplexing to me that he would text me this, especially if theyβre trying to keep employees (we are draining employees at an extremely quick pace already). Honestly itβs his fuck up, and I will be letting HR and the higher-ups above him about this.
I do have text message proof of all of this, and I know a lot of people want me to expose the company, but Iβm trying to be anonymous as possible by not mentioning company names, positions, location, etc. hope yβall understand.
Either way, Iβm done with this job tomorrow, their loss at this point.
Edit 2: Also donβt worry, I will post a follow up tomorrow and link it here

So as many might know, Aphex Twin has released music under a plethora of Pseudonyms. For those looking to learn, this will be a massive post detailing every pseudonym/alias. I'm leaving out AFX and Polygon window, due to there just being a lack of anything to discuss. They're his most popular alias and I feel the majority know of them already. Due to similar reasons, I will be leaving out Mike & Rich, User18081971, and User 4873635300. There's just not much to discuss...
So AFAIK, the Xylem Tube EP was the birthplace of "Aphex Twin", but prior to this, he was known as THE Aphex Twin. This is reflected on Digerido EP, the original Analogue Bubblebath, and even the classics compilations. For some reason, copies of Universal Indicator Red and Blue, even have it written on them, despite Richard not being a part of the latter, but we'll get into UI next.
The name itself is based on "Aphex systems ltd", in which he had to disclose on early projects that he was no way shape or form affiliated with them. The twin supposedly comes from his dead brother, who was also supposedly named "Richard" and whos tombstone is supposedly photographed on the cover of the Girl/boy EP. This story though is doubted by some, due to Richard originally stating the name was due to his involvement with "Tom Middleton", someone he grew up making music with that I will discuss more later. They were both born on the same day, so they were the "Aphex Twins", but Richard decided he wanted to go more of a solo route with his music.

So Universal Indicator is a collaborative project between Aphex Twin, Mike Dred/Kosmic Kommando, and possibly Grant Wilson-Claridge (the founder of Rephlex Records along with Aphex Twin). The common consensus is that Mike Dred was behind UI Blue and Yellow, and Aphex Twin did UI Red and Green (10" and 12"), while Grant did the 2 tracks on the 7". (*UI Green is a project made up of a 12", a 10",
... keep reading on reddit β‘I was thinking about this recently. I would assume that a majority of them would find success, but are there some which would go unnoticed? Would Pride and Prejudice be a smash hit? Would Huck Finn be read in every classroom? Would anyone read through Melville's whale anatomy chapters? I'd love to hear what you think!
If you dont what do you do?
Edit: Wow this blew up way more than I expected im sorry I havenβt replied at all i literally made the post and slept. Thanks for all the replies I appreciate.
I mean... I'm brazilian. I grew up hearing that "US is the best place to go for a better life", but every time i come here i see people being fcked up in a level thats illegal here. We are fcked up. Brazil is f*cked up. But if my boss calls me in my day off demanding me to come in, or force me to do overwork, or literally any of this bullshit y'all americans have to put up with he would be fined and fired real fast...
Every time someone say "my boss called me names" or anything like this i think... HOW ISNT THAT SOMETHING YOU CAN SUE FOR??? Like... Really????
I always saw Brazil as a poor place, but if my employee give me this kind of shit i can legally f*ck his life up. Also, even being a "poor country" we have free healthcare and i never had to care if i could aford being sick. If Im sick at work, my boss have to send me to a hospital and if there's no one to cover for me well thats his problem not mine. I also can't work 2 shifts in a 24h span or else my employee is in trouble.
Also, about sick leave... WHAT'S ON WITH THAT?? You guys really have a limited number of days you can be fricking sick???? For Gods sake how can any person in sane mind think being denied sick leave is a normal thing to expect? Or working more than 6 days without a day off?
How does american people keep themselves from rioting every day?
Edit!!! I found it!!! Queen of Second Place
I canβt remember an old favorite YA novel that I read as a tween. It is a coming of age story about an average teenage girl. It isnβt fantasy, but a big plot point is that everyone has an every day βsuper powerβ. The climax of the book happens when her friends use their βsuper powersβ to save the day. One friend has the power to always find a parking spot close to the door. Her other friend has the super power of always picking the worst line at a grocery store. I think they had to get ready in time for a dance. I think it also might be a modern day retelling of Cinderella but I canβt remember for certain.
I donβt know if this is specific enough but it is all I can remember.
