A list of puns related to "English Mastiff"
Hi all - I foster for an organization called Grey Face in Minnesota. I'm typically fine with hosting larger dogs (up to about 100 lbs), but there's a male English Mastiff that needs a foster and he is a BIG BOY. I just lost a male pittie who was about 85 pounds - but the mastiff is over 150, so I don't know if it's even remotely comparable.
He looks ridiculously cute, and gets along with other dogs (I have an elderly but playful female pittie who loves *male* dogs) . I know mastiffs are supposed to be kind of lazy, which is great - but I'm wondering if I can handle a mastiff at all in my smallish house.
Here's the situation: my house is from 1920, and has a decent sized living room with a big couch . I hear mastiffs like couches :). I have a smaller office that can probably fit a pittie and a mastiff on dog beds or the rug at the same time. I have a decent-sized yard.
But there is zero chance that a huge dog is going to fit into my bedroom. I used to *barely* be able to let both of my pitties on the bed. There won't even be much room for the big guy to sleep on the floor. So ... is your average mastiff going to squish himself into a smaller space to sleep? Is he going to be super cranky if he has to sleep in the living room? I'm thinking about both temperament and size and would love some real-world feedback.
190 lb 6 year old male English mastiff with broken toe- back left/weight bearing toe. He has had 2 X-rays (bc the first one came out inconclusive) second X-ray clearly showed a fracture. We are going on 2 months since the last X-ray (and giving him Rimadyl daily) with no change. Heβs still limping and itβs still quite swollen. He is pretty lazy by design, but I canβt stop him from getting excited when the mail man, delivery driver, or leaf blows by the house! Anyone know if there some type of brace or splint I could buy to keep the weight off that toe?
I don't live in England but I've visited hundreds of times and never once seen an English mastiff, what's that about?
