Electroacoustic music Puns

I am a first year student and this is the only music class that fits my schedule, it has no perquisites, would anyone share there wisdom on wether this course is good/difficult, and what it entails?

I know this is such a pedestrian question, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to get involved in electroacoustic art music. It seems like any sort of instruction on the “how to” of composing and performing is locked up in the ivory tower, and I’m not forking over $50K+ to get a second bachelor’s to learn something that I just want to do as an amateur.

I’m specifically looking for procedural information — what programs are used, how they’re used, and how to transition from composition to performance. Not so interested in history since I already know a lot about art music 1945-1980.

Any recommendations are welcome.

I'm currently in highschool and ever since I became interested in industrial music, experimental music, I wanted to learn more about composing electroacoustic music.

I'm wondering if there's any colleges/conservatories/universities in the U.S that hold their electroacoustic music composition department in high regard? Or in other words, famously known for their electroacoustic music composition department?

Or if you have personal experiences with such a course when you were in college that would be great too.
