How was the Egyptian language reconstructed for Stargate?

I was reading a book about Middle Egyptian, curious to learn something about it. I recognized the word ntrw (meaning "gods") from the scene in Stargate where Daniel tries to talk to Sha'uri. He uses the Egyptological pronunciation "neteru", and she corrects it to "naturu". Later, Daniel explains to Jack O' Neil that the language is an "ancient Egyptian dialect" and he had to "understand the use of the vowels".

My question is: how were the vowels chosen? I have already looked in a Coptic dictionary, so I know the answer is not "they applied the Coptic vowels to ancient Egyptian", because the word for "god" in Coptic is "noute", and applying those vowels to "ntrw" would get "nouterw". So how was it done? Was there any criterium to it, or was it just "add random vowels, as long as they are different from the Egyptological pronunciation"?

Feedback to Devs: Please use proper dialect for foreign languages for better immersion (Iraqi Arabic vs Egyptian Arabic)

Playing with a friend who knows Arabic and was surprised that House of Ashes uses the wrong dialect of Arabic. The game ended up going with an Egyptian dialect instead of Iraqi which doesn't make sense. To non-native speakers this isn't noticeable but it is immersion breaking for those that do. It's a small detail but people pick up on it.

How aware were Semitic speakers of Bronze Age & Iron Age that they were all part of the same language family? or that Egyptian was (distantly) related?

the obvious analogy (to me) is Europeans knowing for a very long time that they all speak related languages (well, minus Basque or Uralic ones).

The Chozo language seems to be inspired by Afroasiatic languages like Egyptian and Arabic

I'm curious if anyone has already put together a "vocabulary" of the language used in the game, but I was immediately struck by how incredibly Afroasiatic the language sounds when hearing it for the first time. Ana and anta seem to mean I and you as they do in various Semitic and North African languages, and the suffix -k may also be a second-person singular possessive marker, another typical feature of this group of languages. My impression is that each individual word in the English (or Spanish?) version of the dialogue was assigned a Chozo equivalent, making this effectively a cipher instead of a full-blown conlang with an actual grammar. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the developers drew a bit of inspiration from languages like Coptic, Akkadian, or Hebrew, whose respective civilizations also seem to have inspired the Chozo designs.

Ancient Egyptian language question

Hi everyone, this is sort of unrelated to this sub but say I was to make a comic about ancient Egypt. If a character is speaking in whatever the dialect is and I wanted to include the written language as a caption would I write it in modern day Arabic or like hieratic or something. Basically what written language would be accurate to how they would be speaking? Thanks!

Sumerian or Egyptian is the earliest attested spoken language. What's the earliest attested sign language?

By attested, I mean we have actual records of some words used in it, not just a reference to a community using a sign language.

I imagine it's quite likely to be a 19th century description of a deaf school sign language, but maybe not? Are there for example, descriptions of native American pidgin sign languages from the early colonial period, or references in ancient texts to some specific signs used?

[Also, in spoken languages we can go even further back via the comparative method, but AIUI that doesn't really work for sign language families]
