Hello EA SPORTS UFC Fans,
We have a quick update regarding some upgrades that Microsoft is enabling for EA SPORTS UFC 4 on the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S consoles. Starting today both consoles now support 60 frames per second (FPS) rather than 30 FPS**. Here are the full details about what is changing for each console:
Xbox Series S
- Prior to upgrade - Supported 30 FPS
- After Upgrade - Supports 60 FPS
- No changes needed on your end to enable the upgrade.
Xbox Series X
- Prior to upgrade:
- Performance Mode - High definition at 60 FPS
- Resolution Mode - Higher resolution at 30 FPS
- After Upgrade:
- Performance Mode - No change - High definition at 60 FPS
- Resolution Mode - Higher resolution at 60 FPS
- For the best experience, you will need to make sure you are in Resolution Mode. You can check this in the game settings under “Visuals”.
It is important to note that these upgrades were implemented entirely by Microsoft.

So I’m making this post due to me quitting playing UFC 4 until these issues are addressed or fixed. I placed in the top 100 last season and have to say the game is extremely broken right now so I decided to make a post detailing every broken mechanic in the game as well as how they can fix it.
The unfortunate reality is EA Sports UFC 4 is nearing the end of its life cycle. The game launched in August 2020 and it’s now April 2021.
EA Sports UFC 3 lifecycle of patches lasted from March 2018 until December of that year so we can with a grain of salt say that UFC 4 will follow suit. Which means we’ll likely receive the last patch for this game in May or June, so roughly 2-3 more patches remain. Again subject to change but going off of previous EA UFC titles we can predict how long is left.
Feel free to add any problems you have experienced.
- Chokes- are extremely powerful right now. Compared to other submissions they are almost guaranteed wins even if your opponent has excellent defence against it. The most OP ones are the one from back sitting as well as back mount postured down.
To fix this it would simply be to make the attackers bar will up much slower and make it in line with joint subs.
- Clinch Spam - Currently it is a very effective strategy to spam the clinch as their is no denial or punishment for spamming it aside from a very minor vulnerability window which usually does not prevent your opponent from entering the clinch and allowing them to land 2 knees to the head or body as well as drive you against the cage.
To fix this I would add a large stamina tax to clinch attempts and a much bigger vulnerability window as well as much more damage in this window. If at all possible a denial would be good too.
- Spinning Elbow/knee spam - is rampant in the heavier divisions especially with jon Jones players as these strikes almost always trump any strikes thrown by your opponent and usually result in a stun or knockdown. There is little to no punishment for spamming these and headmovement is very ineffective as they regain their stamina before you even have time to counter due to how fast the animation is.
To fix this I would remove the ability to combo elbow and knees as well and remove the pullback elbow as it’s fairly unrealistic, I would also slow it down as well as make it use more stamina.
