A list of puns related to "Dylan Minnette"
I went to see the new Scream movie tonight. Donβt worry, Iβm not going to post a single thing about it. Iβve been a huge fan of the Scream movies since I was pretty young and wanted absolutely nothing spoiled.
Last night I was telling my boyfriend, βmy boy Clay is in the new Scream movie!β And that Iβve always liked 13 Reasons Why but since watching with the PMI commentary tracks, thereβs so many inside jokes with the show now. So I told him about some of them, one being the Go Tigers!
I taught him well because what did he do when he saw Dylan during a scene? βGo Tigers!β
I was so proud ππ
Earlier this week, EW spoke with Neve Campbell about reprising her role of Sidney Prescott for a fifth time in the new Scream. But as always, Sidney's not facing Ghostface on her own β the movie introduces a new batch of characters who this time around are played by actors young enough to regard director Wes Craven's original film with genuine reverence. Franchise newbie Dylan Minnette, for example, cites that 1996 movie as his favorite horror film of all time.
"I was very persistent with my manager about wanting to be in this movie," says the actor. "I just would text every day being like, 'Is there a role? Is there a role?' I'm still pinching myself that it's real. I feel like I can retire. Unless they ask me back for more."
Below, fresh-faced Scream first-timers Minnette, Melissa Barrera, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, Sonia Ammar, and Jasmin Savoy Brown discuss their characters β and pick their favorite scary movies ever (outside the Scream franchise, of course).

On the poster, Surprised by this, maybe his role isn't so big??
Dude played a fucking rapist and overall dick in S1+2 PERFECTLY, and even if you think that what they did to his character in season 3 was horrible (which I agree with,) his acting in it was truly phenomenal and he played the fuck out of it. The amount of bravery it takes to place a rapist is huge, and Mr. Prentice OWNED it, (Same goes with Timothy Granaderos.) I think his performance is up there with Katherine Langford's, Dylan Minnette's and Alisha Boe's. I have very similar opinions with Devin Druid, but I want to make this post specifically about Justin Prentice, because holy shit his acting gives me chills.
His scenes of stress/anger are absolutely outstanding, especially his meltdown in the gun drill episode
Post full of spoilers based on rumors and theories, natch:
Though I would love for the opening victim to be Mama Carpenter, in an homage to Maureen Prescott's murder and Jenna coming home, being attacked and surviving (perhaps this Vince character played by Kyle Gallner is her lover/the first suspect, ala Cotton Weary) there seems to be strong consensus in the belief/theory>! that there is no opening kill, that Jenna survives her attack in the opening , !<which flips the script and changes the formula.
This makes me wonder if, technically, Dylan Minnette, who might arguably be the most well known of the new crop of young actors (right? or am I mistaken and old?), the first, first act kill (as opposed to opening kill, again changing things up). There are rumors >!he's Wes, Judy's son, and she gets a call from Ghostface, threatening that he's going to kill Wes, she is killed and then he's killed right after.!< So is potentially the shake up of the formula that we do get our traditional double murder, just a bit later in the film?
Title says it all. I was utterly blown away by his ability to portray a crumbling teenager that was literally suffocating under the stress of saving the people he cares about most from their own mistakes. I could go into how stupid it is for his character to believe that saving everyone is up to him, but this appreciation post isnβt about the character of Clay, itβs about the raw acting talent that Dylan portrayed in every single episode of the season.
His ability to be the focal point of every major scene (even if the script was written for him to do so) is unlike any other young actor I have ever witnessed in a drama. His emotion, his facial expressions, the way he clicks his tongue and shakes his head right before he delivers some of the most impactful lines in the show are so flawless and he really owned his character this season. I will admit that I wish this show was cut and finished at the end of season 1 because we never needed these extra seasons of fabricated drama and injected conflict, but in the end, had these final 3 seasons not been made we would never truly have been able to witness the scale of talent that Dylan Minnette has at his disposal.
I think my favorite scene in the show now, after having watched the last episode (4x10: βGraduationβ) is the final goodbye where he reads Justinβs college admissions essay. The way he tears up and loses himself on the word βbrotherβ and the utter pain hidden behind this new optimistic facade that Clay is trying to create just blew me away and it was one of the few scenes in the show that brought my eyes to water.
If this is the only noteworthy thing that Dylan Minnette ever stars in that would be okay. He has proven himself - to me at least - as one of the best actors of his generation. I may never rewatch this show because of the subject matter and how it makes me literally fall into bouts of depression, but if I ever do come back, it will be to enjoy and revel in the spectacular performance of this young genius. Hats off to Dylan for making this my favorite season of the show.
P.S. not shitting on any of the other actors. Christian Navarro (Tony), Brandon Flynn (Justin), and Devin Druid (Tyler) all delivered spectacular performances throughout this showβs runtime and they too deserve some praise. But I donβt think anyone can deny that Dylan Minnetteβs portrayal of Clay Jensen is really what made this show what it is today.
Finally at Season 6 for the first time since 2010 and reacognised Jack's kid as Dylan Minnette.
Back in 2010. I had no reason to take notice of him, but later I'd become a fan because of 'Life on Mars', the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', and finally the series that most people recognize him for, '13 Reasons Why".
A lot of my friends, after watching the new season, have been saying stuff like "wow! Clay's gone full psycho!" or "Clay's losing his goddamn mind." Which, granted, he is. His mental health has been spiraling since Season 1, and now, everything's come to a head. Dylan had me absolutely convinced that he was losing his shit. His acting this season is phenomenal, particularly during the lockdown episode. Of course, the whole cast is talented as hell. But Dylan...damn. Any other cast members who you guys felt did particularly good this season? Always had a soft spot for Brandon Flynn's acting too.
He posted the news on his Instagram.
Thought he was fantastic in 13 Reasons Why and really killed it in the final half of the final season.
Great addition to the cast in my opinion.
