A list of puns related to "Dick Grayson"
While reviewing Nightwing's long history of love interests, I've realized that he's never had a breakup that made sense to me. It almost always involves a character acting OOC, and feels incredibly manufactured for the sake of drama and/or because a writer decided they wanted a new pairing.
Dick broke up with Starfire because she was literally forced to marry another man after being told numerous times that she had virtually no choice in the matter.
Then they get back together, then break up again after Nightwing was raped by Mirage because that is somehow cheating.
Then they get back together, then break up AGAIN after their wedding is ruined because they suddenly realize they don't love each other.
Dick broke up with Clancy because he started to date Babs the very next issue after he made out with former.
Babs broke up with Dick because she was:
To top it off, she also kicks him out the night after his childhood home burned to the ground.
Then they get back together when he proposes, then break up AGAIN when he goes off to train with Bruce and never get back together despite promising to for some unknown reason.
Then he gets back together with Starfire briefly in Titans and breaks up with HER AGAIN after Raven's brother forces them to sleep together, and this somehow convinces him that he doesn't love her anymore.
Then he gets together with her in Rebirth and they break up again because he was working with Raptor and he's a criminal (this coming from a woman who has routinely worked with Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn, whose boss was working with Clayface at the time, and who is close personal friends with an ex-assassin).
Then he gets together with Shawn who eventually dumps him for saving lives instead of going on a job interview.
Then he gets together with Helena who breaks up with him because he was working with Blockbuster because he's a mobster. Meanwhile, Huntress was a agent for Spyral which was run by a Nazi. My dear Helena, please do not throw stones when you live in a glass house.
Then he gets back together with Babs and then Ric happened.
Then he gets together with Bea and breaks up with her to keep her safe from rogues that might want to hurt him by killing h
... keep reading on reddit β‘Curious who everyone thinks is the best at spinning yarns for Dick Grayson from Batman to Teen Titans to his solo Nightwing book and anything else he has been in. No wrong answers.
I love the black and blue suit (with the medium-length New 52 hair), especially when it's the slim suit, not a bulky armor outfit. But I'm also privy to the blue and gold classic outfit, though I know it's not great for blending in.
Probably makes it less likely that heβd show up in the trilogy then, no? I really wanted Reeves to handle Nightwing, but oh wellβ¦ guess weβll wait and see.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember this ever being addressed. He simply stops being Batman with the New 52 and it's treated like it almost didn't happen with just brief mentions of his time as Batman.
I would imagine it would have a strong impact on Dick and the people around him and it would definitely be an interesting arc to explore him coming to terms that he's not wearing the cowl anymore.
Do you guys remember them exploring this in some comic back then and if not how do you think he would react to that?
I wanna try to read some DC comics since I watch the movies and all the shows but I've always had trouble reading the comics. I'm gonna try again and wanna know where to start. I'm a huge Nightwing/Dick Grayson fan so I wanna start with one of his comics but I don't wanna be totally lost if I have to read another comic beforehand or anything. Any suggestions?
Personally I think Timothy Chalemet would look really good as dick Grayson robin. He has the ideal slim build and height(dick Grayson is 5β10 in the comics, Timothy is also 5β10). The only issue I see is the flying graysons origin would have to show dick becoming robin at an older age, around maybe 17/18 instead of the usual 12. What do you guys think?
If we ever see another Robin next to a Batman again how do you think it will play out?
A 10 year old comic accurate Dick Grayson fighting badguys alongside Pattison sounds cool at first given how crazy his Bruce Wayne seems, but it will come off looking like Hitgirl from Kickass.
An eventual Batman franchise with a new actor/director has the potential to start from the ground up to include and feature Robin/Batgirl/Batwoman/ Red Hood etc.
(You don't even need to start with Dick as Robin, you could start the whole franchise off with Batman finding Jason Todd and Dick/Alfred telling stories of the first Robin via flashbacks, leaving room for eventual Red Hood stories in a trilogy finale?)
Nightwing having his own series will always be a possibility, especially if connected to a straightened out DCEU in some way.
I know a lot of people want to see a Teen Titans movie, and so do I, but I think the DCEU needs to really reboot or find its ground first. I also think a Teen Titans movie would do well with a Damian Wayne Robin than a Dick Grayson.
Well any thoughts?
Been a while since I read Court of Owls so forgive me if I'm getting the details wrong here.
So, during the Court of Owls storyline, it turned out Dick had been marked from birth to become a Talon, and had an implant in one of his teeth that would initiate the transformation after he died.
And the reason for this I seem to recall was that the Grayson Family, or maybe just Haley's Circus, was mixed up with The Court of Owls. It was something that had been going on for countless generations.
So, does that leave us open for the possibility that Dick's birth parents are still alive? That after they got "killed" in that mob hit they just became Talons?
In the absence of Batflick, I think Dick Grayson will take on the mantle of Batman in the DCEU following his appearance in Batgirl and his own solo movie.
