A list of puns related to "Robin (character)"
Robin, get in the Batmobile.
But Patrick is the star.
Hey. (moderately) Fun thing. I couldn't help noticing how well some returning characters in the Strike universe correspond with astrological planets. I mean,
Robin clearly is Venus
Robin Venetia Ellacott, born on the 9th of October, is a Libra. Libra's ruling planet is Venus - named after the same goddess as the city of Venice, where Robin-Venetia-the-Libra was conceived.
and Rokeby is 100% the Sun
Jonathan Leonard Rokeby, born on the 1st of August, is a Leo - fact, underlined by his middle name. Leo's ruling planet is the Sun, which is the planet only in the astrological sense and in actual life is a star. Just like Rokeby in the Strike series.
And who is Strike? I strongly suspect that
Strike is Jupiter
His birthday is the 23rd of November; he is a Saggitarius whose ruler is Jupiter.
Jupiter is the biggest planet in the sky, the giant among them - Cormoran is a mythological giant, and we've been constantly told throughout the series how gigantically enormous Strike looks.
Jupiter embodies the archetype of the hero, the main guy, the protagonist. (We can feel how we like about Zeus and the rapings - as an archetype, he is extremely positive) Of course, for the Strike universe, Strike IS Jupiter!
(I also like to think that JKR enjoyed playing Jupiter Strike at some point back in the 90s! :D)
So you see, the way I attribute planets to people is simple. The first thing to look for is the character's date of birth, then their Zodiac sign and the planet ruling this sign. (Basically - what Talbot did). But the date of birth alone is not enough; there must be other signs present, too. Both Robin's and Rokeby's middle names point to their astrological natures quite obviously. For other characters, things could be less straightforward; often, we have only vague hints - and at least in one case, a lot of symbolism present and no character to attach it to.
(And why do I want to attribute these planets to people at all, you may ask? That's because I believe if we look at their

I apologize that this is going to be a long and drawn out post. It has two parts; first, I'd love to talk to people and share my feelings over the events of Fool's Fate. I posted that already in /r/robinhobb yesterday but I'm not getting a lot of comments. Y'all please talk to me because my heart is heavy and I hate bearing this burden alone! Secondly, I'd like to get some information about the remaining books.
Part One, discussing Fool's Fate
So far, I've read the Farseer, Liveship, and now the Tawny Man Trilogies. Of these, Fool's Fate was definitely my favorite book. I think it's because the Fool has become my favorite character and, when they get along and just accept each other, the relationship with Fitz and the Fool is engrossing. But the sequences with the Fool were so heart wrenching:
Knowing he is going to a cold and painful death, but going anyway π
Being left in the White Woman's power while we know he is going to be tortured π
Fitz finding the flayed skin from his tattooed back π
Finding his poor little broken body π
Wondering aloud where and how to cremate him π
Bringing him back from death β€
Sharing each other's bodies while Fitz makes his body livable again β€
Explaining to him that he died, he won, they're in his time now β€
Fitz holding him through the night terrors β€ while the Fool grasped his shirt and wept on his chest...π This dignified, true-hearted, witty and selfless man, body on the mend but still reduced to a broken shell... π
When he removes the skill link π
When Fitz never comes back to say goodbye because he's stuck in the skill pillar so the Fool comes to Buckkeep but still doesn't get to see him π
That poem and that sculpture and the embedded visions of Fitz, the Fool, and Nighteyes π
They never got a proper goodbye πππ
Ugh I'm telling you, I can't handle it. I am glad that Fitz finally got some happiness in his life with Molly, but my heart hurts for the Fool.
Part Two, discussing the remaining books
I know they have another trilogy coming up named after them but I don't know if it will be setting right all these wrongs. I had questions: Will their friendship survive this separation? Will they become close again? Can anybody share any words of hope with me?
π So with those questions in mind, I admit it, I went seeking spoilers to decide if I should even continue. I know some people avoid spoilers at all costs, or if they read a spoiler everything is ruined for them, but that's n

Is there a mod that allows you to marry her I know she is a married woman but she can do better.
And by more I don't mean as a person. She did worse stuff in the later seasons. But I mean as an entertaining character. I've heard a lot of posts on this sub (who not coincidentally prefer Ted and Robin to Barney and Robin) say that the show ruined Robin's character by making her more like Barney. Or making her shrill (Damn it Patrice!) At times.
But to me, Robin of the first few seasons is a lot more generic and a little subdued (especially in the first season) to fit the more simpleness of the show at the time. She's the "ideal girl" cliche (with some cool differences of course) but she truly becomes way more entertaining to me on her own especially around about season 4/5.
What do y'all think?
Also, edit: I'm just realising this sub isn't allowing or has at least decreased the amohnt meme/photo/video posts anymore. Anybody else noticed that?
I just wanted to make sure that I never lose this legendary quote.
Honestly, imagine how much you would hit the roof if it turned out your ex had been spying on you from inside your own house.
Brosnan's character, in fact, is helpful, thoughtful and dedicated and quite rightly has Daniel pegged as a deadbeat. His chat at the swimming pool with an acquaintance about how much he loves the children is actually really sweet - yet we're meant to see him as the enemy.
Edit: I spelled Pierce Brosnan's name wrong. I'm just going to go throw myself off a bridge.
