A list of puns related to "Destruction battalions"
Artsrun Hovhannisyan in his two recent YouTube videos:
This information will be useful for those who analyze wars and exercise common sense, and not the emotional folks guided by hatred. I will also address some accusations and the "media terror" against me.
[it looked doable at first]
Everyone was in great spirit during the first 10-14 days of the war. Despite the very heavy airstrikes of the early days, our land forces were acting in a literate manner. The enemy armies were unable to make major breakthroughs. That kept our spirits high. I don't think there was anyone in Armenia who wasn't excited about the heroism of our soldiers. We, the media, had to show this enthusiasm.
[go fight or go home, no whining]
Despite what my critics say, I never said "we are winning". I said, "we will win". The difference is clear but some groups with agendas are manipulating this.
Not a single country in the world ever says during the war that they are going to lose, while its army is still heroically fighting. That would be unnatural to tell your fighting solder that he has no chance to stand against the enemy.
After the 1941 tragedies of Smolensk and Kyiv that resulted in over 1 million Soviet soldiers being captured, had you asked any military analyst at the time about the chances of Soviet victory, they would say it's very slim. But you wouldn't be able to tell that by hearing Yuri Levitan (Soviet radio host).
I can give you many examples but you cannot give one opposite example that the state conducted whiny propaganda about not having a chance.
[do not beat your chest too much, tho]
Yes, pointless optimism is bad during the war and I get accused of peddling it, but let's objectively analyze the war reports chronologically. You will see that at some point there was no major optimism coming from me anymore. I gave constant warnings that the battles were heavy, that the situation was not that good, but I urged you not to be broken. Was I supposed to tell you to feel broken?
The regular army is heroically defending. We have major problems only in 2-3 regions, while elsewhere they are heroically defending. Was I supposed to preach defeatism among the rest? During WW2, people were court marshaled and executed for injecting pessimism among the fighting soldiers.
[who fights and who routs?]
I've witnessed low morale among reservists. When the secrecy period ends and

So no shit, there we were...
We? We were a total of eight people. We were the cripple brigade. The useless. The invalid.
We, at around the midpoint of a two-week FTX, were the ones that had injured themselves somehow. There was a broken arm, a mild concussion, a partially torn achilles tendon (that was me), a broken finger... In short, we were incapable of training in a meaningful way. Well, maybe as unusually realistic casualties, but Big Man (Battalion CO) disapproved of that, lest we got even more broken.
So, we were put to the most useful work we could do: Guard the ammo dump. The entrance area was two 40ft sea cans, side by side, with about 20ft between them. A third one was laid across one end of these, forming a rudimentary gate house (as a side note: This had been done because the actual gate had burned down a few weeks prior). We had wood stoves for heaters and a generator out back, so it was an okay life, especially since one of us had brought his at the time newfangled 3G modem, and we could just barely get Polish Vodafone internet if we taped it to a long stick.
I personally was near the tail end of my second day there, particularly pissed off about it because I knew I'd be missing the Munitionsvernichtungsschiessen ("Ammo destruction shoot", a thing we do with ammo close to hitting it's use-by date), and there were literally hundreds of Panzerfaust 3 involved.
On that evening, another unit that was playing in the same training area and using the same dump showed up to dump the ammo they hadn't used that day. No problem, lemme check if you're on the list, y'all are, go right on in, and don't forget to sign out or we'll be mad and shake our invalid fists at you and maybe even give you a dirty look, have a nice evening.
Later that night, about 0030, a single Marder from that unit rocks up to the gate, at speed. Broken finger gal goes out there, checks the occupants against the list, and.... reaches for her radio. Shit. "Yo Klaus, this guy's not on the list, but he's a Captain, and he doesn't like it."
"Yeah, I'll be out". So I grab my weapon, equip myself with crutches, and mosey on down. "Evening Captain, what can we do for you?"
At this point, he's being nice. Asks how I got injured ("Rope bridge wanted to go left, my ass went right, crack, ouch"), and wants to be let in.
"Sorry Sir, you're not on the list."
"Sergeant, I very much am."
"No Sir. I'll check it again just to be sure... No Sir, you are not on the list. Let me call Battal

September 19, 2034. UHS Unyielding Courage, in synchronous orbit above Freedoms' Triumph.
Logan smiled. Today was going to be a good day. One to remember, that's for sure. As he stared out the window of the captains room, over the world below. It had once been the jewel of the Alliance, a planet of beauty, now reduced to ashes. Humanity and the Hybrid forces had made sure of that.
He thought about the events of the last six months, something that for the most part had gone by In a blur.
After the Battle of Sol, Loganβs forces had joined Parker at the encirclement lines, before they launched an all-out offensive into Alliance space. Johnson managed to create an alliance between Humanity and the Hybrid forces fighting for their freedom across Alliance space, and the Human fleet was intent on assisting them.
Between the New Order, Humanity, and a functional rebellion in the way of the Hybrids, the Alliance was unable to offer serious organized resistance to the Human forces, and they took planet after planet in quick succession: βLike taking candy from a baby.β Parker had remarked.
Logan didnβt usually consider himself very vengeful, but even he had to admit the experience of tearing through Alliance space had been downright cathartic: morale among Human forces was higher than it had ever been, and they were ready to see it through to the end.
Of course there had been losses, battles in which Human forces overextended, or when Alliance forces managed to actually combine enough to significantly resist. Many Humans were dead or wounded, even if they took a hundred of the enemy for each of their own losses.
The Intelligence wing had performed admirably during the invasion, the records of what had really happened to Earth, as well as the recording of an Alliance Gen

March 24, 2034. Capital, Alliance Research Colony 00.
As Governor-General Erril looked out the window of the tower over what remained of his colony, he wondered what had gone so wrong. What just hours before had been one of the most beautiful and productive colonies in Alliance space was reduced to a husk, with fire and destruction bathing the streets of his city.
βWatch the doors!β One of his personal guard shouted as the five remaining men barricaded the only door into the room. Despite all the planning, all the preparation, the Humans had rolled through their defenses as if they werenβt there! Perhaps theyβd underestimated the symbolic value of the planet, and overestimated the strength of their own men.
There was a banging on the other side of the door, and the soldiers trained their plasma rifles on it: the Humans were on the other side. Erril drew his pistol, hoping to at least go out shooting. This hopelessness must have been what the original inhabitants of this world felt, the last time he had seen it, as a young gunnery officer: a terrible but necessary act.
The banging on the other side of the door went silent. They could hear murmurs of the Humans speaking to one another, but none understood. There was a few tense moments of silence. And Erril briefly hoped they had left. Then someone on the other side shouted: βDetonating Breacher!β And before anyone could react the door exploded.
Erril was thrown to the floor by the blast, his gun leaving his hands as his ears rang. Before he could gather his wits or even sit up a boot was planted firmly on his chest, holding him down. The creature looming over him was Human, itβs face dirty with ash and dirt but clearly angry: he was clad in a simple combat uniform, his clothes and helmet in an urban camouflage. βLooks like this is him, sir.β The Human said to another of the six that entered the room, making sure that his guards were dead.
βWilliams, get on that terminal and get what you can. Inform battalion command we've taken the building." The Human leader ordered a female Human, who then started

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Founding: M38, 23rd βSentinelβ Founding.
Reason for Founding: To safeguard the region of space south of the Realm of Ultramar, lending support to Ultramarine defence of the Imperiumβs Eastern Fringe. The High Lords and Administratum rejected the original request for an Ultramarine successor Chapter to undertake this task after significant deliberation, considering it too close to a ploy for Maccrage to expand its holdings. The Ultramarines finally acquiesced to an Imperial Fists successor Chapter, owing to the close ties between the two parent progenitors.
Progenitor: Imperial Fists
Former Name: Garagian Bastions
Battle Cry: βUnyielding, a Bastion Eternal.β (Former), βUnyielding. Eternal.β (Current)

Symbol: A Yellow fist in front of a White-Red shield. The Warband has kept this symbol unchanged since their defection, although the Administratum has struck it from records as expected.
Strength: Slightly overstrength, with approx. 720 marines and 2500+ cultists.
Fleet Strength: Average, though unclear. 2 Salvaged Despoiler Class Battleships (βThe Sergillan Clawβ, βPale Furyβ), 6 Cruisers, approx. 35+ known associated Raiders.
Structure: Codex compliant before its defection, the Warband has reorganised into a strict stratum of leadership based upon power and strength. At its head sits Lord Pertagrim and his six Chosen, each of which leads a varying number of Champions as dictated by their needs. The seventh Chosen heads the Garagian Cult, in charge of the vast hordes of recruited cultists and aspirants. These cultists fall into well-organised battalions not too unlike that of the Imperial Guard, each led by a mortal member of their own but also overseen by a single Space Marine squad.

The first whispers of what would become the Maclnir Commonwealth were born in the aftermath of Tukayyid. Between the failure of Operation SCORPION and the vast amounts of Clantech in the inner sphere, ComStarβs original ambitions lay in ruins. Many privately questioned if the battle had been worth it, and this would only steadily increase as one disaster after another dominated the following decades.
The loss of Terra. The sundering of ComStar and the rise of the Blakists. The death of the Second Star League. The failure of Victor Steiner Davionβs leadership and Case White. The Jihad. The White-Out. Any one loss would have been enough, leaving ComStar as a shadow of its former self, but combined they all but broke the organisation. As what remained of the Com Guards fought on in their wars, whispers gradually became discussions. What would happen if they survived the Jihad?
In every plan, every possibility of victory, the answer was always the same: ComStar would be a remnant. Made subservient to another government if not outright disbanded, they would never again be allowed any true power of any form. In the worst of situations they would likely be tarred with the same brush as the Word of Blake, and held trial for the

With so many games releasing nowadays, I think it's easy for the good ones to get lost in the shuffle. I'm going to list 60 upcoming local multiplayer games releasing in the future. This is just a tiny fraction of whatβs on the horizon, as Steam alone received 10,263 games in 2020. Iβm going to order the games by release date. If the game does not have a tangible release date, Iβll place it in the list based on what I think is more likely to come out first, based on marketing material and communication from the developers.
Note that the platforms listed are just whatβs confirmed, and a platform not being listed doesnβt necessarily mean a game wonβt come to said platform. Sometimes it is difficult to find information on what platforms a game will be on, and sometimes the developer doesnβt even know until later down the line. In a lot of cases, indie games will release on Steam first and then come to consoles later. For example, Trash Sailors released on Steam yesterday, but it wonβt be on Switch until February 17, 2022.

>In a world where humans can't perform magic, elves and other long-lived races have reigned supreme for millennia. Rumors have spread lately of a human invention that might change this. These 'guns' were currently underestimated by most of the world except an old elvish merchant, who saw an opportunity for profit...
Prologue:
Laughter echoed through the crystalline halls of the Imperial Palace for the first time in centuries. Apparently, humans were accelerating tiny spheres of metal at their enemies through a barrel, using a controlled explosion to fuel its strength. They hadn't moved past blow darts or throwing rocks.
Rhangyl waited for the council to regain their composure. He had never seen them display this much emotion. They couldn't grasp the danger of the upcoming conflict. A folly of their youth. In fact, this meeting only bolstered their confidence. Rhangyl sighed. He couldn't fault humans for resenting his people.
Elves had pretty much exploited them for millenia. Even after the Zenith Revolts, where human nations across New Gaia gained sovereignty, the economics of magic were too much of a hurdle to overcome on their own. After all, one competent wizard could produce more than a human town's entire workforce. Unfair trade agreements ensured that their governments were still reliant on the elvish empire for most of their industries, keeping them subservient through indirect means even after earning their freedom. Rhangyl knew this was about to change. He witnessed a group of bandits slaughter his private caravan with these weapons. Most of the hired guards fell before they could shield themselves with magic. The spell took too long to cast. Rhangyl only survived because he went invisible before the humans fired on him, barel

1.) Welcome to the Playground β Bea Miller
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmP7KCf2rTQ
Its not the bridge song, but itβs the first official song you really hear that a scene is built around. In a pure literal sense, the undercity here is a playground. Its dangerous of course, but not so much that kids canβt walk the streets. And with no in-universe example to compare, the undercity is very much a literal playground for these kids. They arenβt heroes or champions, or even adults. Their big heist was almost like a big game to them. Theyβre playing. But lyrically and tonally, the song hints at a much more mature, adult theme for the show, which we obviously get, basically starting here.
In the actual scene, the gang riding the elevator, descending deeper and deeper into the undercity, until they get off at the bottom level, is indicative of exactly the βlevelβ these kids are growing up on, both physically and socioeconomically. Its not subtle at all, these kids go straight to the bottom after having a taste of topside. I think they managed to shove a lot of life and scenery into a scene that is basically 4 kids walking down a street. Fortiche does a spectacular job doing things like that the whole series, where things are always moving in both the foreground and background and makes everything feel alive, but as a first glimpse into the undercity, you donβt really care about it yet. Youβve followed the kids topside and are likely to pay attention to them in the scene, but theres a whole city created, animated, and displayed in the background.
As the song wraps up, the scene focuses on the sign for The Last Drop, as the lyric βwhat brings you to the lost and found, dearβ plays. Just a really good, subtle way of framing The Last Drop as exactly that. A safe place/haven for the people with nowhere to go, with a man ready and willing to take care of those lost.

It wasn't right. It wasn't HIM.
Stace forced himself to look at his omnipad again. He had the front camera turned on so he could use it like a mirror. There it was. Two eyes. One hazel, a sort of brown green. What he had seen every day for over forty years, at least when he bothered to look in a mirror. The other a field of black with a golden ring for an iris, looking like a piece of fine jewelry floating in a pool of oil.
It didn't just look wrong, it FELT wrong. The colors were too saturated, the acuity just a smidge too sharp. As Stace looked himself in the eye, he could feel the foreign, alien presence clawing into his face. He was contaminated. It wasn't right. It was-
Elera's hand snatched the omnipad from him and Stace turned to look at her. Purple skin, tusks framing dark lips. Black hair recently cut to end just at her jawline.... and the eyes. The same eyes he was now infected with.
"Stace... Stace. Stace!" Elera's hand came up, finger snapping. He felt his eyes drift, following the movement of her fingers. The moment passed and the rest of the world started to come into focus, the odd over-saturation faded. "What the hell was that?"
"It's.... I..." How could he explain it? Even if he had the words, how could he convey it? Stace tried to meet Elera's eyes, but he couldn't look her in the face. He just couldn't. "It doesn't feel like me."
"Does it hurt? Is it calibrated wrong?" Her concern was obvious, but she was just making it worse, trying to inspect his face, making her own inhumanity more and more apparent. He pulled away from her, turning towards the wall.
"No, no, stop. It's... it's in my head." Come on, Elera, please understand. The words wouldn't come but Stace hoped desperately that she could somehow figure it out. "It feels not right."
"Stace.... why won't you look at me?" It broke his heart to hear the plaintive question in her voice. It was clear how much this was hurting her, but he just couldn't do it. He raised his left arm and covered his face with the crook of his elbow. It was the best he could manage.
"I'm sorry. I.... I can't."

Prelate Iwardion shook some loose feathers out of his left wing as he stared at the screens in front of him. Unlike more peaceful times in the recent past, the windows along the walls of his Throne Room no longer delivered the brilliant light of the Onathi Star. Instead, sheets of silver-grey metal were drawn down like armoured curtains to block any photon lances from hidden snipers. The entire room was lit by the glowing tiles in the ceiling, and by the vertical strips that framed a massive half-tree in the center. The tree trunk was cut in half vertically, and inset into the middle of the split-trunk was a long black screen that was shimmering with symbols and indicators, representing the Onathin Military ships in orbit over Onathi. The remnants of the Sovereignty forces that were defending Henfir had just arrived in the system, and were currently undergoing repairs. The Forsaken forces were bound to attack Onathi, as soon as they had finished destroying both Henfir worlds.
However, Prelate Iwardionβs attention was focused on the metal curtains. Each sheet of silver metal flashed as they displayed live video feeds from the Sovereignty Security forces that were currently deployed within the Governmental Palace. It really does, I swear!
I was reading a Reddit thread recently where the discussion was around the greatest twists or memorable moments in games. There were the typical responses; "would you kindly" from Bioshock, the first 15 mins of The Last of Us, various scenes from Red Dead 2 and TLOU2. I then came across a response with lots of replies echoing the same moment:
White phosphorus from Spec Ops: The Line.
I have never played the game so didn't know the moment people were referring to. I looked at some videos of the game and saw a rather generic cover shooter that looked like it had taken much inspiration from Gears of War. However, I read that the game is so much more than that. I was intrigued so didn't read any further because of spoilers and tracked down a second have Xbox 360 copy as it is backward compatible with the Series X.
One of the first things that persuaded me to take a punt was the interesting sounding plot.
Six months before the game is set, Dubai is struck by cataclysmic sand storms, destroying the city. A battalion of the US Army called the Damned 33rd are sent in to the city to evacuate survivors. They were never heard from again.
Six months later and the first radio broadcast from Dubai is received. Its from Colonel Konrad, the leader of the Damned 33rd. As word had been received from inside the city, a three man elite squad is sent in to carry out recon, confirm and survivors and radio for evac. You play as Sgt Walker, the leader of the squad.
However, once entering the city, it is clear that the whole city has descended in to civil war, leading to a battle for survival for the player.
For a city that has been destroyed by sandstorms, the settings are incredibly varied with scenes inside shopping malls, museums, aquariums, airplane fuselages, marinas and more. The sand also comes in to play as you can shoot windows causing the sand to avalanche in to buildings opening up new routes and downing enemies.
The gameplay is fairly generic. Pop in to cover and shoot the bad guys. There is a variety of weapons and ammo is relatively sparse, forced you to use a wide variety of guns and grenade types. For a 10 year old game, it also looks stunning. Yes, some of the textures are a bit rough by todays standards, but the Series X does a great job of upscaling. There is also brilliant uses of licensed music.
However, as the game progresses, its uniqueness comes shining through.
The player is facing with many moral dilemmas to which t
