Kuastic rummaged through the files on Human first contact though his computer.
After the crash, he was amazed at how easily the two humans saved the Hajink from almost certain death. So, he decided to do some research. All by himself, in his home.
At first he looked at Human evolution, and it seemed pretty standard for an omnivore. Eventually he landed on wars. Although they were particularly bloody, Kuastic made the point that at the same time, the population was far larger than anyone else's at that point.
Of course there was the war crimes and attempted genocide, but every species history was dotted with that.
What was remarkable was how many people still clung to religion even after having advanced so far in science. Perhaps they had some kind of religion their own science couldnβt prove wrong?
As Kuastic advanced, he noticed that many people seemed to do things that were extremely dangerous, and did those things often.
Sky-diving, the act of falling only to stop due to a parachute. Airsoft, a type of fake battle simulator that is common in most species, but they use physical pellets that could actually seriously hurt someone.
Of course, there were less dangerous, but just as intensive sports. Tennis, marathons, and baseball were types of competitions. The Inork would love just how advanced Human videogames are.
But why? Why do all this intensive sports? Granted some are competitions, but then there's sky-diving which is done for fun!
βWhat the hell are these apes on?β Kuastic said to himself.
Wait a minute.
Kuastic had an idea. Perhaps all of these humans were just really high on a type of drug? It would make sense.
Kuastic began to look into what types of drugs were available at the time. Multiple searches popped up. Krokodil, Ice. Crack was a famous one. Most were insanely addictive to humans, and deadly too.
There were some much better ones. Marijuana, or weed, had a calming effect. LSD wasnβt as addictive, and practically gave its users a great time. Yet none of these drugs even related to dangerous stunts.
Kuastic sat backwards in his chair.
It didnβt make sense. What reason would someone have to do something so dangerous? Perhaps for glory? If doing dangerous things meant guaranteeing a mate, the wars would have been far more bloody.
Just as Kuastic was about to close the computer, he saw a snippet from a news article.
βAdrenaline junkie breaks land speed record.β
Adrenaline? Are they incapable of producing it?

Zeriβs unique mechanic is her speed- and I think that building to accentuate that makes her the strongest- though of course itβs difficult to test-
Runes: LT, PoM, Alacrity/Bloodline, Cutdown/Coup - celerity, gathering storm
Boot: Swifites. We want as high flat movement speed as we can get to go as fast as possible- this stat will get further multiplied by other bonuses
Trinity force Rush - for the on-hit movement speed. it is increased by a flat amount- meaning that it gets further multiplied by any percent movement speed bonuses we have. Also sheen is just very good on Zeri.
Phantom Dancer 2nd- more on hit movement speed, pd provides percentage bonuses which multiply any flat movement speed bonuses we have from boots or other items. At this point- itβs like you are always ulting
Situational crit 3rd- mainly we just need this slot to give us crit for IE. I like collector or runaans.
IE 4th- big damage number. damage is good
5th- Defensive item; doesnβt need to be crit but maybe. Armor pen if you didnβt get it before and need it, possibly black cleaver
If you can manage to get your hands on Zeri, please give it a try. I have only been able to try it once but had a great game
This build has tremendous clear and single target damage, by taking advantage of lightning arrow (LA) shotgunning and tornado. It is extremely snappy, with fast movement speed and attack speed, and is able to clear t16 delirium, scourged maps and double beyond very easily. Fun build can almost the full game's content (corrupted blight is tough but I don't think anyone has a fool-proof strategy yet) including A8 Sirus.

How it works - Offense
Ryidanik was having a great day.
He was selected for the pole position of the Galactic Grand Prix. You see, most sci-fi media depict racing as an interstellar adrenaline rush, with starships and asteroids and everything.
In reality, starship fuel was expensive, and ships even more so, and as a result they were used purely for commercial and military uses.
Ground vehicles were a different story however. Ryidanik had a G-120 speeder, a powerful hovercraft with the driver in the absolute rear of the craft, and the massive engine in taking up the rest of the space. It didnβt use fuel, but electricity to move.
Ryidanik was having a fantastic day.
You see, humans are a new species on the galactic stage. Recently discovered, their βmetric systemβ was hailed throughout the galaxy as the first standardised measuring system. Most species had their own, but decided to not switch due to how hard and costly it would be to change everything.
Humans had convinced them when it was realized that the most costly thing in engineering was other species crashing the ships they made due to translation errors. Several costly mistakes later, and most of the galaxy had adopted the human measuring system.
Ryidanik was having an ecstatic day.
His craft could reach a top speed of 531 KM\H and could could from 0-100 in 14.3 seconds. Most racing was not about how long you could go, but how fast you are. Low acceleration is nothing with straights as large as those of the courses of a Galactic Grand Prix!
Of course there were limits. Ryidanik is a Hajinik, a species with a chemical nervous system. This meant poor reaction times, but far more durable. He had no heart, but his veins were encased in thousands of small muscles, meaning he could survive far harsher turns than that of even a human. This also meant if his muscle stopped working, there was almost no way to start it back up.
Ryidanik was having an excellent day.
He had just gotten word that a human would be entering the Galactic Grand Prix as well! This was a first, a species less than 10 years after being accepted into intergalactic politics having a racer in Grand Prix. Ryidanik was confused as to how a human could enter the race though, as they are require to come in a specific position in several other races before being accepted, as from what he heard, only their most expensive crafts could barely make it past 420 KM/H. apparently it was called a veyron or something?
Whatever the case, Ryidanik had to see what w

As Ryidanik awoke, he realized that today would be either a great or horrible day, depending on the outcome.
Today was practice day. Specifically the first of several before the big race. During practice, they could race for as long as they want, so long as only 5 racers are on the track at any one time. Ryidanik himself wasnβt going to practice, as he was already a veteran at this circuit.
He was, however, looking forward to seeing Ryan practice instead, and how in the galaxy that βcarβ was going to win.
As Ryidanik walked out from his garage, fully prepared for the day, he heard the familiar sound of a hovercraft starting up. A small, barely audible fan spinning up, before it grows into a steady beat, and then goes back to being quiet with a slow but precise hum.
All over the pit lane, more of these sounds started up, until the entire lane was filled with the sound of Hovercraft engines. Eventually, 5 hovercrafts made their way out of their garages, all of them newbies to the track. As the 5 made their way off the lane and onto the track, they started to speed up, and so practice had started.
Then suddenly Ryidanik and everyone else in the pit lane jumped in fear as a mighty roar engulfed them all. Not knowing the origin of the roar, Ryidanik looked around in fear of where it was coming from, before his eyes settled on the last place he expected it to be.
From Ryanβs garage, came the car that he never thought could race. Sleek, yet fierce, the car made its way out of the Garage, waiting its turn to practice. Ryan, who was behind the wheel, noticed Ryidanik staring, as well as the rest of the teams.
He couldnβt see his face, but Ryidanik was certain that Ryan was smiling behind his helmet. Without warning, the car roared again, startling Ryidanik, before settling into a steady hum. Not the hum that a hovercraft had, that was constant and near never-ending. This hum was more like a rumbling, like the purr of a predator that just met its prey. The car itself was even slightly shaking to the purring as well.
Ryidanik shook off the fear that was emanating from him. It might have a serious look, but he knew that car was slower than any hovercraft. Ryidanik turned away and walked into the rest area behind the garage, where anyone that wasnβt racing would be.
As he looked around, he saw his racing buddies, who were also veterans who felt like letting the news kids play before practicing.
The oldest of the bunch, Kulfen, was trying

Despite crashing at over 500 KM/H, Ryidanik sustained minor injures. The explosion knocked him out, but the craft never flipped, tumbled or spun out. It just exploded, fell onto the ground, and slowly grinded to a halt.
Whatever the case, it was the next day, and Ryidanik wanted to get to his own garage as quickly as possible. Ryan should have delivered the new car to the garage now. Ryidanik really couldnβt wait to use it!
As he walked from the office to the garage, everyone who passed him looked almost disappointed at him. Probably since he crashed, they didnβt believe he could race anymore. Well there was always a way to prove them wrong.
Ryidanik walked through the door to his own garage, he was met with the sight of his entire pit crew, 6 people in total, talking to each other in a circle. Went one of them saw him, they all grew quiet.
βWhat? No celebration? No βIβm so glad you survived.β? Not one single thing?β Ryidanik said, confused as to the stoic nature of the pit crew.
One of the mechanics spoke up. βListen, this human, Ryan. Can you trust him? Heβs a competitor! What if heβs just trying to scam you?β
βRyan saved my life. And heβs also the only one whoβs helping me! As far as Iβm concerned, I can trust him.β Ryidanik said sternly.
βWell it's not just that.β Another one of the mechanics interjected. βThe way that these cars workβ¦ their way of working is simple, but extremely dangerous. Most of their engine is designed to either contain, or enhance the small explosions that happen within the piston chambers.β
βSo they have a different way of propulsion, so what? Theyβve been using these things for over 100 years. If they say it's safe, it's safe.β Ryidanik countered.
βPerhaps, but we have no idea how to properly clean those parts, and if they break, we donβt have the parts to replace them!β The mechanic proposed.
βAnd that is the reason why the human pit crew will help train you.β Ryidanik said matter-of-factly.
Their argument against the humans crumbling, the mechanics grew silent again.
βNow, since you were talking about combustion engines, I assume that Ryan has brought the new car here?β Ryidanik said curiously.
βYeah it's out there.β One of the mechanics pointed outside the garage.
Ryidanik moved towards the garage door, and moved to open it. As the door opened, he got the first sight of his new car.
It was disturbingly bland. No paint.
... keep reading on reddit β‘βHuh.β Ryidanik said.
βWhy isnβt it moving?β Ryidanik asked Ryan.
βWell, you see, for starters, you left the handbrake on.β Ryan pointed to a another stick next to the Gear stick.
βThe gear is currently in Park.β Ryan pointed back to the Gear stick, showing that it was resting in a position where an alien letter was.
βAnd finally, and perhaps most importantly, you are holding down the Brake pedal.β Ryan pointed to what Ryidanik was holding down with his foot.
βOh.β Ryidanik said.
βAlso, if that was the accelerator, and we did take off, we would have crashed directly into the guy in front of us due to how fast it accelerates.β Ryan once again pointed out.
βSo, let's start with the absolute basics first, alright?β Ryan proposed.
βAlright.β Ryidanik said, disappointed that he would not get to drive it immediately.
And so the training began. At first it was difficult, having to undo all his training from a Hovercraft, especially the pedal placement. The Gear shift was the easiest. The car had two modes, automatic and manual. Automatic made it so that I didn't have to focus on shifting gears throughout the race, so they stuck with that one for now.
Eventually they touched on pit stops. Apparently the only thing that changed in the pit stops was the worn out tires, and the refilling of fuel. Ryan also told Ryidanik that in earth races, the switching of drivers was allowed, so sometimes that would happen too.
After eventually talking about safety, such as seatbelts and mirrors, Ryan finally let Ryidanik start to drive. Ryan was fully aware of how tedious it would be to start out, so he let some medics aware of the training beforehand.
The most obvious problem was how sensitive the pedals were to change. Ryidanik would often end up accelerating and decelerating in large amounts. That is to say, he would start and stop abruptly. Since the pit lane was mostly empty though, there was no one to really crash into so long as Ryidanik didnβt veer into a garage.
By noon, Ryidanik had mostly gotten over his tendency to start and stop so suddenly. It was still there, but it was much better now. Ryidanik had also learnt how to change gears in manual as well, although he wasnβt exactly good at it yet.
Of course, now was time for a break, and time for another round of questions. Ryidanik had wondered, why did Humans get combustion engines, and not anyone else?
βHey, Ryan.β Ryidanik said as they were both walking to the rest area.
βYeah, whatβs up?β Ryan asked.
... keep reading on reddit β‘The next day.
It was in the afternoon, Ryidanikβs training was going well.
His tendency to brake suddenly had disappeared overnight, and instead was replaced with a smooth transition.
βAlright, so now that you can transition well enough from start to finish, we are going to work on something else.β Ryan said to Ryidanik, sitting in the passenger side of the car.
βReally? What else?β Ryidanik asked, still looking at the pit lane he was driving through.
βYou need to learn how to do a pit stop.β Ryan said nonchalantly.
Ryidanik looked worried. βReally, now?β
βYep. you need to learn how to stop at a specific space as fast as possible.β Ryan said, admonishing Ryidanik.
All this was being said as Ryidanik was driving at 50 KM/H down the pit lane.
βAlright, see that line up there?β Ryan pointed to a line in the road not too far away.
βYeah?β Ryidanik said.
βBrake in a way where you don't crash and stop at the line.β Ryan said simply.
Ryidanik looked back to the line. It was approaching at fast speed, so he eased on the brakes slightly. The line continued to approach, but a bit slower now. He stepped on the brakes again, with some more force behind his foot. This time, the line slowed down more, and was getting much closer than anticipated.
Estimating how far away the pit stop was, Ryidanik slammed on the brakes, expecting a squealing noise of tires locking up. Instead the car just. Slowed massively. By the end of the acceleration, Ryidanik had stopped directly on the line.
βGood work! A little janky, but you'll get used to it.β Ryan said, letting out a breath of what Ryidanik assumed was relief.
βNow do it again.β Ryan said, pointing to another line in the distance.
Ryidanik complied, knowing that the rest of the day would be dedicated to this. The second time around was slightly better than the last, being smoother, and with Ryidanik not having to slam on the brakes as much.
This continued on for half an hour. 30 minutes of practicing how to stop suddenly in a specific place. It was boring.
βAlright, now for the real deal.β Ryan said enthusiastically.
βTime to actually do a pit stop?β Ryidanik said, trying to predict his words.
βActually no, youβre not quite ready for that.β Ryan said. βInstead, it looks like the track has cleared up! Time to actually go fast.β
Since Ryidanik was practicing in a pitlane, the maximum speed limit meant that they couldn't go above 80 KM/H. Now that the track was open, they could actually use the cars ful
