I was in Germany in 2002 and kept seeing the music video for a German language song on TV (MTV?).
- It involved a man walking down the street of a town.
- All the people of the town had disappeared. I'm not sure whether we actually saw the people disappearing on screen.
- At one point the man sees a half finished breakfast through a window.
- Towards the end of the song the man meets a doppelganger of himself, punches himself, and all the people reappear.
The music featured in the video was some sort of techno-type stuff, though it's hard to remember. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of dance music
I think I remember him using a flattened cardboard to breakdance on and he had a large boom box
I definitely remember watching the video a few times but there's nothing specific that I remember about it that I can search for

There is there song that at a few points over the past 20 years I've tried to find, no avail. I have a few memories that I've chased. Maybe you can help!
- I originally heard it on the radio. I'm pretty sure it would have been considered Alternative in genre, because I'mm pretty sure I heard it on the radio station, WFNX. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WFNX
- Was on the radio sometime around the years 2000 to 2002.
- Lead singer was a man.
- The song either had a sweet harmony breakdown on the bridge, or it may have been accapella. It was certainly distinct.
- The words "hi fi" or "hi-fidelity" always come to mind, as though they were the chorus, or a lyrics.
Trying to find a weird music video I saw in high school, would have been about 1998-2002.
My brain always tells me it's System of a Down, but i'm almost positive it's not, certainly haven't been able to find it if it is.
Video was done in claymation and had some weird monster thing, i seem to remember there being a cage at some point, possibly in the monsters chest, or the cage was somewhere and the monster reached into it's chest and pulled out it's heart.

I know this is a stretch, but I was in Germany in 2002 and saw this music video on MTV and have been unsuccessfully trying to track it down since. Basically, the video follows several different people who eventually die - get in car accidents, jump off buildings, etc. Then at the end of the video all the people who died just get up and brush themselves off and go on like nothing happened.

I can't remember any of the song, but I can remember the imagery of the video.
There was a music video played on MTV and The Box (and other video channels) in the early early 2000s, and it had:
A living boombox, roaming around partying like a rock star
People fawning over it, acting like it's a rock star
At the end of the video there is a fire alarm that goes off, and the crowds treat the fire alarm as the new rock star, forgetting about the boombox
