A list of puns related to "Chris Vrenna"
Edit: I just realized he actually did some music for Quake Champions, and yeah, that solidifies it.
Hey Folks,
Just thought I'd plug a project that we just released and was mixed by magnificent Chris Vrenna and he also did a remix of one of the songs (Dancehall) which is amazing.
The band is called Filthtraction and includes:
Christian Menses (Psychotica)
Timothy Nebel
Darcy Boynton (Psychotica / In Heat)
Alex Kaos (Breaking Kaos)
Chris appears in our "Videodrome" inspired music video for "Safeword" and the full album / social links are below if you dig what you hear
Let us know what you think!
**apologies to the mods if this breaks any rules
Pretty neato ambient-industrial stuff I think, from another NIN dude. They replaced it with a more pumping soundtrack by Andrew Hulshut a few years back, but Vrenna's stuff is still worth listening to. One thing to note is that they mostly start out slow, but they do pick up towards the end.
Ithagnal - cool dark ambient stuff.
Goroth - industrial rawk.
Cthalha - ambient piano thing. My personal favorite, especially towards the end.
Iβve been looking up Chris Vrenna because I had no idea what heβs been up to since leaving nin. I canβt find why he departed from the band. Did he leave? Was he fired? Did he have beef with Trent? I know none of the members are ever really permanent. Just wondering why that is.
Also Chris is a music teacher at an Alabama college now.
The albums are titled "The Attraction to All Things Uncertain" and "2 AM Wake-Up Call". If you like NIN, but also want something more chilled out, spacey, nocturnal, beautiful and meloncholy rather than aggressive and catchy, check out the first two Tweaker albums. The third Tweaker album lacks the feel of the first two, sadly. The first two maintain that dark, pretty atmosphere from beginning to end, and some of the guest musicians give fine vocal performances. To my knowledge, Chris was only the drummer and assistant sound designer for the first few Nails albums, but you can tell he learned a LOT from Trent during those early NIN years. The first album is driven more by electronics and the second album has more live instrumentation. These albums didn't sell too well as the music isn't very catchy (it is mood music rather than dance/rock music), so it has nothing as catchy as "Closer", nothing as memorable as "Hurt" or as hard-rocking as "March of the Pigs". Buy these if you want NIN-like music you can relax to after a long day.
I remember we were supposed to be given the option to switch between the new soundtrack and the old one from Chris Vrenna.
That was a few months ago, the new one was "only to test the waters"
Can we pls get some update on this.
Would be great to customize which tracks we prefer from which soundtrack, so we can make our own "mix" and disable the ones we dislike.
Thanks!
I don't know exactly if they fell out or not but I've heard that Trent has sort of insulted him in the past. Did something happen between them?
Cleaning a bunch of stuff out of my attic. I don't collect vinyl, and didn't know what to do with it, but throwing it out seemed a waste. So anyone want this? It's yours.
Mint condition.
Never played.
Signed by Chris Vrenna and Clint Walsh, and numbered 38/500.
Give me a response why you want it / deserve it and i'll pick someone from the comments -- preference probably goes to someone who has an interest in game music or wants to do something with this other than keep it sealed up and out of sight. :)
I know that I'm basically pissing against the wind here but a month later my opinion is only reassured - Andrew Hulshult completely missed the point, his music is tiring and repetitive. Since developers told us that previous score is "not going anywhere", I have a question - when?
Posting for visibility and to clarify matters(self posts don't get karma right?).

So Chris Vrenna doesn't hate me or mashups, he finds them silly, and fair enough because they are at the end of the day, it's all a bit of fun and you can't take yourself too seriously. He is however quite supportive of remixes, I have a friend who swears he used to post on GYBO in it's early days. Plus he's giving me the opportunity to remix his band, how fuckin cool is that?
So he's been dragged into this because TMZ needed a scoop, no publicity is bad publicity tho, I'm sure we both got a bunch of hits out of it. Just don't be hating on him because of a celebrity gossip article.
Now where's my Billy Ray Cyrus acapellas to drop over tweaker. Just kidding!
