I feel like I see this a lot in historical movies with people in political power. Someone (another King perhaps) comes into another Kings territory and threatens said King or someone of power yet doesn't get killed on the spot, why? Is this something only in the movies? If this did actually happen, why wouldn't they just immediately kill the person right there during the threat if they were going to war with them anyway at that point?
