A list of puns related to "Dark Souls II"
I've completed DS1 and I went through the lore as far as I could and I know that DS2 isn't related to DS1 much so should I skip to DS3 ? (Simply saying playing DS2 after finishing DS3)
Yeah.
I am gonna be going through all the soulsy games on the road to Elden Ring, and I had considered skipping DS2. Reason being, I tried to get into it like 4 times in the past, and couldnt. More than that, I feel like I HATE it.
You've probably heard all the gripes people have, mine arent very original, so I won't focus on that. What I think is really weird, but also rad, is that this game is many people's FAVORITE. There's something to love in this game somewhere, and it bums me out that I can't see it like the rest of y'all.
Does it just take a different attitude/perspective? Is there anything a fan might suggest to me that might help me enjoy it more?
Stuck on a boss? Wanna know the best way to go about your build? Maybe you want to know where you can find a particular piece of loot? Or maybe you want my criticism on your current fashion? Look no further than Papa Leeroy's help desk, send me your questions and I will answer them!
Waited to finish Bloodborne to make another write up since I felt DS2 alone wasn't worthy enough for a post on it's own. For some context I played DS1 looking up things as little as possible, and went into DS2 & Bloodborne completely blind and didn't look anything up. I didn't give a rating for DS1 on my last review here, I would give it a 9.5/10
Right off the bat I want to say that these three games so far have been very good, but none of them in my opinion were flawless.
Dark Souls 2
I took about a week break after finishing the first game, and my initial thoughts were that the game had some large improvements over the first game such as movement, explaining how to do / use things in a better way than it's predecessor, and a story that made a little bit more sense to the average player than the first. However, in the end the game really just felt worse than the original.
I felt the game almost dragged on too long, yet beating the final boss >!Nashandra!< was very unsatisfying since I didn't even realize that was going to be the end of the game. On the contrary, some of the DLC bosses such as the Burnt Ivory King and the Fume Knight were probably the best bosses I'd faced in all 3 of these games so far.
I'd also like to cover the level design between DS1 and 2. In Dark Souls bonfires were pretty rare but always had really cool shortcuts / paths so that many were not necessary. Adding on to that, most rooms in DS1 felt very fair in terms of enemy placement. They completely threw this out the window in DS2 (at least the base game), where they put bonfires pretty much everywhere in order to make the world wider. I always felt relieved when finding a bonfire in 1, while in 2 it felt more like a checkpoint in a Super Mario Level and nothing else.
I was playing the SOTFS edition of the game and when rewatching of someone else playing the original version, the enemy placement seemed so much more fair. SOTFS felt as if they were just trying to throw as many characters at you as possible for the hell of it.
Overall, it has some good improvements to the first but sets itself back in many ways. 8/10
Bloodborne
I think this game was very fun, but honestly I felt like it isn't the best one by far like many make it out to be. I took about a week break after completing DS2, my cousin ended up loaning me her PS4 so I could play it with a 60FPS patch. It

I'm looking for NieR:Replicant on PC or PS4! I'll family share my Steam library with you in exchange, I have over 100 games, excluding some that are not shareable.
Of course, I have RE 8 if you want it, as well as RE7,6,5,4,3 Remake, 2 Remake and Revelations 2.
I started playing Dark Souls 3 and absolutely love it. I'm planning to purchase Dark Souls Remastered and Demon Souls in the newt coming months. My only question is if I should get Dark Souls 2. I've heard it seems to be the biggest of the trilogy but is an absolute buggy mess. There are so many problems and bugs in the game I'm starting to debate myself. I'm still considering it because not playing it feels like missing out 100 episodes of your favorite show. I'm only still considering it because of its whopping 42 bosses and seems like it would be a ton of fun without the bugs. It wouldn't be that much of a problem but there are so many bugs and some of them are just downright unacceptable. Examples of bad features or bugs go as followed: Your armor armor and weapons Breaking INCREDIBLY easily, Lock on system just fails, is inaccurate, or plain stupid, the pathing and AI messes up atrochiasly, and of course, and horrible hit boxes. What do you guys say?
Starting a fresh run of dark souls 2 and would love to have you come in and chat, give tips, or just talk about the day. Hope to see you on there: https://www.twitch.tv/gamesloaded all follows are forever, thanks!
Upgraded from Xbox one X to PS5 now would like to find someone who went from PS4 to Series X so we can both have the right games on the right console
So I finally encountered my very first boss today, The Last Giant but I like to call him "butthole face" and beat him first try. He was an alright boss and I can see him being kind of hard if you don't think on leveling up your ADP on your first playthrough.
I also encountered a big cool looking knight that got dropped by a giant bird when climbing a ladder and I used a homeward bone cuz I was scared and unprepared. Then when I came back he wasn't there anymore :( I hope to encounter him again.
So far my only complaint would be the hit box when it comes to enemies with shields (So far I can only think of the hollow soldiers.) Sometimes your attack will count as a block even though they are performing an attack animation.
Do you guys know any cheat tables for DS2 SotFS? Possibly similar to the Grand Archives one for DS3 since that one is pretty straight forward. If not similar, doesn't matter thats just a bonus. Comment if you know any.
Ps. I need the item gib option for spells, that's the main reason why i want it
I was given this game (scholar of the first sin edition) as a gift a while back but only about 6 months or so ago began playing. I donβt regret it whatsoever. This was my first ever souls game, and holy hell what a great one to start with. I kind of wish i started with with Demon Souls or Dark Souls I but Iβm gonna be playing those next anyways. I really enjoyed everything about this game. The bosses were all super fun and unique in their own way (besides the bosses that were just rehashed), I loved all the areas and the different weapons and armors, and it was overall a really fun experience. The only thing that did bother me was sometimes the hitboxes could be a little weird but it was never bullshit at least in my experience. I ended up killing Aldia after Neshandra and I left the throne instead of accepting it, I just feel like thatβs a better ending. Iβm really happy with this game, I canβt wait to play the others. I wanna know how everyone else enjoyed the game.
About a year ago now, I made a post about how Iβd started to like the game after giving it another shot. Well my cousin stopped playing with me pretty early on, so I made a new character instead. However, I decided to keep the same build.
As far as I can remember, my plan was to use the MLGS and some fashion souls, along with the Sanctum shield to make a sorcery build. So, thatβs what I did.
I started out a sorcerer and went to Heideβs as my first area. I cleaned the whole place out because I hated the run up to the dragon. Killed the scrub and then killed Old Ornstein. From there, I went and killed the Dragon Rider and progressed. With the levels I gained from effectively farming the area, I levelled up ADP and then INT. Leveling up ADP is a must for any build IMO and the sooner you do it, the better.
I progressed through the game, blasting (and occasionally slashing with my dagger when I ran out of uses). I came up No Manβs Wharf and befriended Carhillion of the Fold. I bought all of his spells as well as the Clear Bluestone Ring. I felt much more powerful and blasted a hole right through the Flexile Sentry, and rode right on over to the Lost Bastille.
Here lay the hardest boss for me in my journey so far, the three retards. I canβt remember their name, but you know who I mean. My spells obviously ran out since there was three to kill and I had to use my shitty dagger to finish one of them off.
Anyway, yada yada. I went straight to Scoriponess Najka when I could but got my ass kicked due to high sorcery resistance. Eventually I came back and took her down afte a few tries. Quite a hard fight for a pure sorcery build (which is effectively what I was at the time). I eventually got to Prowling Retard and Da Gang and shamefully died. I came back, killed them all and got to Brightstone Cave Tseldora.
I rekt the whole area, and clearly out the aids area before Freja. Seriously, if it wasnβt for the one spider dude chillin at the ladder, Iβd have just ran past. Anyway, Freja is the definition of and EZ fight, and I didnβt even use a torch. Then I asceticβd, panicked, asked for help, received none, and learnt about the torch trick. EZ fight becomes EZr I guess. Now I had what I needed... the Old Paledrake Soul. I traded it for the MLGS and now my build was really on the move.
I levelled it up as much as I could and went on to smesh everything. I got Soul Spear from Huntsmanβs Copse and then another from Agadayne after killed Big Frog. No boss really gav

So I've recently decided to play through the Dark Souls games since it always bothered me that I never got around to finish them. I've had all the Dark Souls game in my steam library for a long time.
Yesterday I finished Dark Souls 1 after years of giving up after the second boss and I'm so glad I gave the series a new chance.
Now I'm really eager to get more of Dark Souls since I finally understand why the games have gotten so much praise! I just installed Dark Souls 2 but realized that there is another version of the game.
Will I miss out on alot if I just play the original? I do not plan to do any PVP and just mainly want to focus on the PVE aspect. I had the same dilemma whether to upgrade to the remastered version of DS1 but ultimately decided to just stick with the original.
I'm just not so eager to spend more money right now, but I can do it if it feels justified.
Thanks!
I was ecstatic when I beat my first boss, which was the dragonrider because I didn't know you were supposed to go the the forest first. But the moment that surpasses that by far was Fume Knight.
Fume Knight kept kicking my ass over and over, sometimes he did three attacks in a row and a sword swipe, sometimes it was 2 attacks and no sword swipe. And then phase two it only got worse. With each attempt, however, I figured out ways to react, and then whack him once with my Greatsword+10. I understood how long I needed to wait to get just that 1 stamina to dodge roll out of the way of his attack. I blew through half of my buffs, and then some, trying to improve my odds.
And then, in a state of zen, I did it, I beat the Fume Knight, when I was at max hollow, ofc.
After that, I felt like I could take on anything, because I literally could, having done the hardest boss and hardest dlc first out of the trio, with only 2 great souls under my belt. I went on to beat every boss, finishing with a whopping soul level of 192, and felt great. My first Souls game, beaten. Soon, I will get to do it all over again with Dark Souls III, because Dark Souls I wasn't on sale when I bought both games.
For reference, my final build was Fume UGS with vengarl's armor. I also like to run the Ivory King UGS with the dragon armor + both equip load reduction rings so I can get fast rolls and have insane damage with every swing. What was the moment you felt was your git gud moment with this game?
Bearer of the Curse and Siegbro
With the power of mod tools, I added Siegbro into DS2. Wish they added the Catarina shield into the game.
Hi everyone! I wrote a post some weeks ago about wanting to start the game and tonight I finally did!
I tried all of the classes at the starting level and I eventually opted for the sword master since it had quite a nice dps and I'm having fun with it.
I went to the forest of the fallen giant first and judged by the damage I did to enemies that this was a viable direction and I then called it a day when that thing dropped by the bird destroyed me.
I'm enjoying the game, but I have some questions:
There is a fog gate blocked by a statue in the starting area. I peaked over and saw those curse frogs from DS1 and a thicc boi in the distance. I thought that in order to move the statue I had to lit all the stone torches around the map but I did and nothing happened. Without saying too much, is it something else or did I miss one? Maybe I have to buy that old branch from the lady at the forest and use it on the statue?
I usually play DSR with a 5 button mouse setting but I noticed that apparently it's not possible since it makes me pick the mouse bindings from a list of combination for e button mouses. Is there any way around this?
3)Before entering the forest there was a chest which was swarmed by blood pools and ominous messages. I thought it was a Mimic and tried to hit it but I did no damage so I tried opening and it was simple loot. Are chest randomized in this game?
Special thanks to the dragon guy that understood that I stood no chance against him and just threw himself off a cliff and to the Asian guy that unbeknownst to me heard me swearing during all the coop because I had voicechat active.
Hello, I recently decided to play all souls games out there, and I wanted to start with the Dark Souls series, than move to the other ones, it has been some weeks since I bought the first game, and I decided to just play it until the second one gets on sale, but I just noticed that there are two different editions, I just wanted to know if there are any gameplay differences? I heard a lot of people saying that playing on mouse and keyboard for the original version of DS1 was terrible and that the remastered fixed a lot of the issues, I'm not really sure how much of a difference it is but I didn't have any problems with it, I just wanted to know if there is a difference in both versions when using mouse and keyboard. The other thing that I'm wondering is if there are any story differences or something that really changes the difference, I don't mind the graphics difference, I just want to play the game and experience it in the best way possible, but if they are both identical other than graphics they I guess I should just get SotFS?
