I have studied a BSc in Applied Physics so I have no appreciable expertise in astronomy, plus I've been working in the automotive industry for a few years now, so I should return my BSc. The closest I can get to knowing anything about pointing error is with lasers in nanophotonics setups, which of course do not deal with astronomical distances.

I know this is bunk because pointing models and pointing error correction are much more complex than this plus we do indeed and independent of one another observe astronomical objects but I don't know how to properly debunk the crank.
Could someone help explain this to me? It's also great for me to learn something new!
Need to replace the BB on my Cube stereo 140 as it's grinding and notchy as you like. Seems a good time as any to look at some new cranks moving down to 165mm from the factory 175mm. I'm not exactly skilled and ground them a fair bit, plus I'm pretty short (170cm).
I've got a bunch of o/t coming my way which should cover the majority of the costs trying to work out whether I get something nice or stick with XT. Don't really want SRAM cranks as I've heard less than great things about torquing them up.
