A list of puns related to "Coronavirus, Explained"
For a virus of 99.7% survival rate, is there any justification to destroy the economy, people's mental sanity and restrict and control everything? If anyone has even a hint of common sense, they would say No.
I live in Ontario. And while 80% plus of the population is fully vaccinated, and with the dystopian implementation of these vaccìnè passports, Ontario announced 2 days ago that we are back into full lockdowns. From gyms, to dine-in to literally you name it, everything is closed. And for family indoor gatherings? The limit is set to 5. Lol. And Quebec is on curfew, and if you're seen outside after 10:00pm you'll be fined. Now let's look into the impacts:
1. Economic Impacts. Coronavirus happened and slowly, they closed down everything, which lead to the a lot of the middle class businesses failing and relying on the government. And, a lot of people lost their jobs, aswell as many companies laid off their employees. The people who were making 6-7k a month, are now making only 2k a month max, with unemployment benefits and plus working odd jobs, as they can't get jobs in their respective fields due to this dying economy. So, overnight, a lot of the middle class slowly transitioned into poor class. And when you have most of the population in the poor class, it's far easier for the government to control, as everyone is reliant on them. And, this is what's exactly happening. While majority of the doomers and lazy people love to be slaves to the government for their petty checks, people like me and you, do not. They want to work hard and grow in their own way. But it's become too difficult now.
Henry Kissinger's famous quote βWho controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world.β and here's Rothschilds famous quote, "IΒ careΒ not whatΒ puppetΒ is placed upon the throne of England to rule the Empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls the British money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply."
It all makes sense. These people truly are in control behind the scenes, and they have everything set and planned for decades ahead.
Not only that, now, with these "vaccine mandates" the people who don't want to take this experimental leaky vaccine they cannot work anymore or do anything, due to these mandates. I'm all for freedom of choice. I don't care what anyone does w

After that, I worked for what was technically a hagwon, but my real job was writing curriculum for the Korean teachers to use. I did have a couple classes, but those were R&D. It was great, right up until the British owner left and the new, Korean owner decided that there was no need for us to spend time making a curriculum when there were so many already out there.
Wanting to continue my curriculum development career, I moved to another hagwon that writes its own curriculum and thus began two years of terrible bosses. Here's what I learned.
1. Don't let them anywhere near your personal life
The first hagwon I was at was well-established, with multiple branches using the same curriculum and a staff whose only job was writing that curriculum. It's a remarkably bad curriculum given the amount of resources behind it, but that's due to the leadership being this little club of MBAs that are buds with the owner; a 40-something man who wears ripped jeans to meetings. This is important because...
Shortly after I started working there, one of the branch's three managers told the new staff that "birthdays are a big deal here". I don't like celebrating my birthday because the worst thing that's ever happened to me happened on my birthday. So, after the meeting, I went to that manager's office and told her that I don't like celebrating my birthday and please just ignore it when it comes around. She was confused and maybe a little offended. She said that it was impossible not to celebrate my birthday unless I told her what had happened.
What I should have done was walk out of her office, go to the head manager and tell him what had just happened. However, I thought "okay, maybe celebrating birthdays is the one time she gets to have fun at work and I don't want her to be bitter at me". So, I explained in the barest of details that one of the worst things that can happen to you happened to me on my birthday. She understood and I went back to work, matter settled.
The next day, as my students were arriving for my first class, another manager comes to my room and goes "Hey, I heard [one of the worst things that can happen happened to you once]" and then tries to have a conversation with me about itβagainβas my students were arriving for the first class. As soon as I could, I stormed into the first manager's office and, with as much professionalism as could be expected, told her not to tell anyone a

So this is the continuation of a story that I posted last week.. The link is at
Previously, I told you guys about this roommate from Hell, who smoked cigarettes in our room at the Hilton with ALL the windows closed - turning the room into a scene of a horror movie with a very thick smog to the point that you couldn't see the furniture on the other side of the room.. Hotel security came in and had threatened us with an immediate eviction in the worst time possible..
We were in Hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca, which is a city with a strict 'no-smoking' policy and heavy fines.. and if you disabled a smoke detector on purpose to have a smoke, it is a felony in the KSA..
The hotel security did not have the concrete evidence of tampering to the smoke detector, but the hotel management had every right to kick us out of the hotel - which would've been a disaster; because at the peak of the Hajj season, it is almost impossible to find a vacant hotel room in the vicinity of the Holy Mosque (the holiest of the holiest places in Islam).. I know this because I did try to get a room elsewhere for only my mom and I.. and I failed..
On the day of the smog incident, I sat with the stupid entitled roommate and I tried to explain to him calmly:
- "if you ever do that again, we will ALL be sleeping in the streets but I will try my best to make sure that ONLY you would be kicked out from the hotel.. If you want your own bed, you are welcome to go back to your own group and back to your assigned room.. You are our PLUS ONE squatting in OUR room, and you are a guest to OUR room.."
He did interrupt me several times, and I actually took half an hour to say all those words to him coupled with few threats "I am your leader, the 2 guides/leader put me in-charge of this small group and it is within my authority to kick you out from our group.."
- that was my mistake..
From the last week post on both Reddit and on Facebook, people wondered "Why not simply have him kicked out or have him arrested?!"; the simple answer is because that would not be a very Muslim thing to do!!
(if I was a Christian, it wouldn't be a very Christian thing to do)..
In 2014, I was in my late 30s, and I was the youngest of the entire group.. The 100+ group were mostly e
