A list of puns related to "Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan"
βWhen I read the book of Genesis, especially about Adam and Eve and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, partaking in knowledge and living a life you want to live is what I think about when I read that. Imagining God telling me to not eat from that specific Tree, because He says so, without true justification. Its against any natural will they had at the time, which was given by God. Satan wanted to make me knowledgable, while God wanted to keep me ignorant. Which is why I side with Satan in the story of Genesis.β
I would like to know how you guys would answer to this claim made by a person I know.
For further clarification/context: In the past, I asked this specific person if Christianity was absolutely true, would he become a Christian. He then replied saying, βNo, because I find the God of the Bible to be immoral.β
What's the real reason why Satan got tossed out of heaven?
Was Satan speaking the truth about Elohim's plural marriages?
Did Satan expose Elohim's propensity for having sex with his own teenage daughters?
Did Satan teach that the universe is older than 6,000 years?
Sorry it's more convieant for me to make it a title
I think I've found a really interesting parallel between Jesus and Satan, and TBMs and Exmormons.
I've started to think about Joseph Smith's teachings as mythology instead of scripture recently and what potential value they hold and what lessons exist within the mythology that is meaningful, outside of their ability to correspond to reality in a literal way. I think as soon as you try and describe religions in the realm of a correspondence theory of truth where the story has to be True in order to be useful makes the whole system fall apart.
So I'd like to lay out an idea that is present in Abraham Chapter 3 that is particularly interesting and I think insightful:
>16 If two things exist, and there be one above the other, there shall be greater things above them; therefore Kolob is the greatest of all the Kokaubeam that thou hast seen, because it is nearest unto me.
>
>17 Now, if there be two things, one above the other, and the moon be above the earth, then it may be that a planet or a star may exist above it; and there is nothing that the Lord thy God shall take in his heart to do but what he will do it.
>
>18 Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal.
>
>19 And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all.
>
>
>
>22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;
>
>23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.
>
>24 And there stood one among them that was like unto God, and he said unto those who were with him: We will go down, for there is space there, and we will take of these materials, and we will make an ea

I'm actually flipping out right now. No way this is a coincidence and someone may have caught this before.
Adam and Eve is from the first bible story basically, and they ate from the tree of knowledge and the world went to shit from there. If the Oharan secrets from the tree of knowledge were released to the world like Adam and Eve did in the bible, the world would go to shit, or in the OP universe, maybe the WG would lose control or something?
> TL;DW = we can accept evolution, but we reject the idea that Adam alayhissalam has a father.
> Microevolution Islam has no problem with, nor with dinosaurs nor with the age of the earth nor with humanoids living before humans nor with humans existing ~40000 years ago, etc. Evolution does make a lot of sense from any scientific point of view, but as Muslims we believe in Adam as and that Allah swt created man and created the universe and everything in it
> I think, there were already the Apes, and Allah SWT out Adam 'alayhi salam in the "process ". I read that science states that apes and humans have different lineages, despite being similar. So the ape lineage could be their own, while Adam 'alayhi salam was the beginning of his lineage.

Isnβt god all knowing?
I guess I'm posting this for a kind of catharsis, because I'm feeling kind of bummed out. I definitely see how this kind of stuff breeds extremism. There's no amount of evidence or sense you can present to sway some people.
According to Christian Theology after the fall of Adam and Eve, the rest of humanity was condemned by default to be born into sin and a world of pain and suffering. Would a more just design present every human with the choice that was presented to Adam and Eve?
The idea of ancestral sin is really like condemning someone to prison and hard labour for a crime committed by a great grand parent for example.
We are told in Genesis that the tree they eat from is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and once Adam and Eve eat the fruit they have knowledge of good and evil. So how can eating the fruit be a sin if they had no knowledge that it was evil? You may say that God directly told them not to eat from the tree and by definition sin is rebelling against God but the Bible also tells us that we are judged on what we know and Adam and Eve had no knowledge that God was good or the serpent was evil?
If God truly judges us by what we know as stated in Romans 2:12 how could God judge Adam and Eve as sinful considering they had no knowledge of good and evil. All they knew was that they had been told if they ate the fruit they would die and told by another the fruit would give them wisdom.
Is there something I'm missing from the story or do I just not understand? I'd love to hear from both sides.
I am not religious nor a biblical scholar but have thought of this as a strange connection for a while. The apple is supposedly βthe fruit of the knowledge of good and evilβ, which was forbidden by God. The serpent convinced Adam and Eve to consume the apple, saying that βtheir eyes shall be openedβ. Psychedelics certainly can inspire personal/worldly revelations, with many claiming a sort of βawakeningβ. It seems like the effects of psychedelics could be strongly contrary to religious beliefs in that people begin questioning reality and social/cultural constructs.
Does anyone have any thoughts or resources to share on this idea?
Growing up in catholic school I was always taught the reason we have an innate sense of knowing "right from wrong" is because of Adam and Eve's orginal sin. How do Christians make sense of this? If God created 2 humans in his image why would he give them free will , prone to human error. And then punish them for his failure of a creation ? Sounds like one narcisstic God.
Today we were eating dinner and went off on a tangent about how my uncle(who is gay) is never invited to any of our family gatherings. My sister asked, "What would you do if one of us turned out to be gay?" And my dad replied, "I'd throw them the f*** out of my house." I just sank in my chair. What should I do?
The Englishman admires it and says "Look at them, calm, reserved, and proper, they were surely English."
The Frenchmen laughs and replies "They are naked and beautiful, there is no doubt they would be French."
The Russian slowly shakes his head "No clothes, no house, no possessions, they have only an apple to eat, and they are told this is paradise. My friends, they are definitely Russian."
I've never practiced religion and I've always wondered how christianity explains this topic
Inspired by this post https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/eiwwcc/i_wonder_what_they_paid_to_do_this_in_times/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf where you can zoom into the upper right corner of the picture to see they blatantly chose to use their old website. Those motherfuckers.
I guess I'm posting this for a kind of catharsis (here and on r/atheism), because I'm feeling kind of bummed out.
Any thoughts?
Were any of you in this position (believing Adam and Eve, etc.) once upon a time?
The Frenchmen laughs and replies "They are naked and beautiful, there is no doubt they would be French."
The Russian slowly shakes his head, "My friends, they are definitely Russian. No clothes, no house, no possessions, they have only an apple to eat and they are told this is paradise."
