A list of puns related to "Cerebral cortex"
Having trouble differentiating the two.
So get this:
Asperger's people use their cerebral cortex for emotion instead of the amygdyla
In fact, we use the wrong parts of our brain for emotion. The cerebral cortex is all decision-making. The amygdyla is automatic emotion- fight or flight is there. The automatic stuff our socially successful co-species loves so much can be showed not happening on an MRI. Your botched meeting can be visualized.
You should stop that... or could I get an amygdyla transplant?
I've been thinking a lot about the amygdyla and hippocampus, because I'm trying to find ways to let stuff go, old injuries and trauma.
NIH review paper:
(NYSE:CYBN)
Cybin has announced that the FDA has authorized an Investigational New Drug application to proceed with the companyβs sponsored feasibility study using Kernelβs Flow technology to measure ketamineβs psychedelic effect on cerebral cortex hemodynamics.
This study requires patients to wear headgear equipped with sensors to record brain activity. Leveraging Kernelβs quantitative neuroimaging technology may lead to new frontiers in psychedelic therapeutics by enabling the acquisition of longitudinal brain activity before, during and after a psychedelic experience.
"We hope this feasibility study can bridge the gap of real-time quantitative data collection during psychedelic treatments to further understand the correlation of effects from these powerful molecules. The ability to access real-time brain activity data during a psychedelic experience has tremendous potential for the development of future psychedelic therapeutics," stated Doug Drysdale, Chief Executive Officer of Cybin.

This is not financial advice.
I realise this may be a dumb question but Iβm struggling to visualise what the cerebral cortex looks like at a cellular level. If grey matter contains only cell bodies and dendrites and white matter myelinated axons, how can synapses be formed? I am just picturing a bunch of cell bodies in the grey matter with axons projecting downwards into the white matter but I canβt imagine how connections can be formed this way. Again, apologises if this sounds stupid! I hope this makes sense. Any diagrams would be super useful too.
