Help with Catholic Liturgical Rites

I have the oddest question, and this group might help: do you guys know of any books/resources that like EXPLAIN WHY the liturgy is structured the way it is? Something that's an anthology of liturgical rites or a history of the liturgy. I just have no idea why the Mass is the way it is and it's driving me insane.

I want something to explain where in the Bible the prayers are derived from, why the form is the way it is, and how the various rites evolved and came to be accepted.

Do the Chaldean Catholic Church and the Syro-Malabar church use the 'Anaphora of Mar Nestorius' as other Churches of the East Syriac Rite do?

I hope this doesn't come across as offensive, but surely if this is the case, using an Anaphora dedicated to someone who (rightfully or wrongfully) is anathematised is bad

Was this reform that triggered the old believers leaving mostly contained to Russia and the Slavic orthodox world? Or did Greece, Antioch, etc. also go through similar reforms during this period?

Can a Latin-rite Catholic just show up and commune at an Eastern Catholic church?

This may seem a dumb question. Apologies if so. I know that the churches are in communion, but I'm mostly wondering if I would need to contact the priest first to let him know I'm coming? Or can I just show up at the Divine Liturgy and get in line for communion, no issues?

I'm Catholic and not Serbian, and my girlfriend is Orthodox and Serbian. When we moved in together I picked us a patron saint that is recognized by both of our churches, and today is our slava. What is something fairly easy I could make us for dinner?

I was thinking Cevapi, but I don't know what to do for side dishes. I'd love some suggestions!

In the traditional Roman liturgical rite, the existence of a Roman Emperor is normative: one of the nine supplications of Good Friday is for the Roman Emperor, and there is a section of the Exsultet of the Easter vigil for him. In the mind of the liturgy, then, we are only in an inter-regnum.
