St. Valentinus in Waldsassen. The jeweled skeleton was one of many originally found in catacombs beneath Rome in 1578, and distributed as replacements under the belief they were Christian martyrs to churches that had lost their saint relics in the Reformation.

What did you think about the reaction of the Count when he was obliged to shake Albert's hand, and indeed of Franz's reaction?

- I'm enjoying this section with Franz and Albert (although when they were first introduced I was a bit confused), however some members of the group are not. I feel like each element of the story will end up being crucial in some way, so if I hit a boring patch, I just go with the flow and trust the author. Your thoughts?
