I may just be too lazy to read the rules here, but can a unit advance in the movement phase, then use Ethereal Castigation to fire rapid fire/heavy weapons in the psychic phase?
Before people tell me I'm an idiot for not pulling Mobius, I had decided that HoT, VK, and DJ are the characters that appealed to me the most when I started up. After the Mobius trial, I didn't much care for her playstyle, sadly, as much as I wanted to.
I have Benares (B). I pulled my Darwin off my DJ for now (while I roll for the rest of Benares), and am running Darwin T+M with the Benares B. Should I just be running full Darwin until I get 2 or 3 of the Benares? Having a hard time deciding whether breaking up the 3 set on either is worth it or not, or is Benares isn't good until 2-set.
Also, what affix priority should I aim for on my stigmata for HoT?
Each piece of Benares alone seems strong, but am unsure if they are worthless without set bonus or if it's worth breaking up Darwin or another set.

Blood hunter 6th level ability "Brand of Castigation", does this trigger with every attack? Say a monster has 6 attacks, does the brand do "int mod" of damage for every attack that lands?
(Obligatory Preface: I haven't played the game, only watched.) I'll leave the overall animation and aesthetics of the spell to a different discussion, but I must say, it's distracting/annoying to me that the whip doesn't make contact with an enemy if they are further away than the length of the whip. Perhaps a projectile of light (or something) that shoots from the end of the whip and hits a target when they're at range would help? Anyway, I was just watching a streamer fighting one of the boss dragons and it was something I noticed. The whip seems visually ineffectual for targets at range. (and yes, I realize this is an Alpha and that there's a lot of change/polishing that will be happening. All the more reason to provide feedback!)
So since the new Index fight can be quite difficult, here is a little tip on how to make it easier!
Castigation is Esther's unique combat page, a bullshit ~12 roll that reduces all your power by EIGHT (8) when clashing against it, and if you get hit by it you can kiss your ass goodbye unless you're lucky enough for it's 0-40 extra damage effect to roll low. Fortunately, there is a really cheesy way to beat this, asides from beating the shit out of him before he can react, and that is by using...
Mass attacks.
Specifically, Individual Mass Attacks.
They work in a very different from summation, because if an [Individual] mass attack wins against the enemy roll, then that dice is destroyed. So all you gotta do is make sure your mass attacks targets the dice Esther's using Castigation on, and if you roll higher with your individual, Castigation's gone. Bonus points if you also get to destroy Hubert's attack. Gloria's, I don't think you can destroy as it is also another mass attack.
Now, the problem is getting an actual reliable [Individual] mass attack page...
For that, I would reccomend Lowells' Forming Storm, Laetitia's / Black Swan's EGO, or just build up a shit ton of strenght.
If you like memes you could also beat it with Boundary of Death.
If you like smoke you could try using Loss of Senses on Esther so much he contracts cancer.
If you like guns you could use freezing ammo spam on him, enough for his 8 power loss when clashing to become irrelevant.
If you like the 'no u' meme just use Castigation on him and hope for the best (good luck with getting blade unlocked before him)
If you're a masochist, clash with the Butterfly EGO and witness as how he shoves a hundred blades up your ass.
There has been a power struggle going on in our group for some time in regards to abilities granted by a player's backstory as well as possible actions that can be taken on a player's turn, and the latest struggle is something that I cannot find any actual sources for. Maybe you all can help me.
Does the Brand of Castigation last/hold if the Bloodhunter PC falls unconscious? In other words, is it considered permanent with the exception of the situations listed (dismissing the brand or branding another creature)? Or is this treated like a concentration spell in that it ends if concentration cannot be maintained?
This has come up due to a disagreement over whether a Bloodhunter PC could still track an NPC they branded, prior to falling unconscious, after being healed from an unconscious state.
Any help is appreciated!
Is there a way to track who is doing damage to others with Greater Castigation on Sun King's Salvation? I can't figure out how to get this on WCLs.

Hey guys, im in my first game of lancer, we just hit level 2, and i picked up the Manticore frame. My current plan is to grab manticore 3 next level, and then 4-6 im looking at the Ghengis.
The long term goal here, so far, is Explosive Vents, Swarm Body, Lighting Generator, Mesmer Charges and/or Beckoner, and a Plasma thrower with Nanocomposite Adaptations.
Talents (Right now) are Technophile III, Grease monkey I, Nuclear Cavalier I.
Im pretty set on the Ghengis for the Plasma Thrower, Explosive Vents, and maybe the Auto Cooler.
#####THE DILEMMA(S)
Core bonuses. I'm sold on Superior By Design (HA) and The Lesson of the Open Door (HORUS) but what else might be a good grab? Ive contemplated Improved Armament for another Flex mount, to load up a pair of catalyst pistols. Any other core bonus ideas? Should i make this bomb fly?
Talents. Technophile is a done deal, NC and GM are in the works. What else? Ive looked at Engineer, and the integrated mount would be nice to make up for having one mounted weapon. I would like Hacker, cause it fits my character, but im open to any other good recommendations.
Mech skills. Engineering and Systems will be my two main skills. Am i safe with just 2 points in Agility? It leaves me with 8 Evasion, which feels low, but i feel like i want health and repair cap more. I am aware of the SSC Core bonus that gives a flat +2 evasion, but i cant see myself taking any SSC liscence levels.
NAMES. Ive names my current iteration of the Manticore as the "Castigation Engine". And i mean, i love that, but i also love suggestions.

Title Hi everyone, I'm new to the game, started like 1-2 weeks ago and managed to get HoT, Benares T and B and somehow...two keys of castigation. So I'd like to know, are weapon dupes meant for something, like say refines on Genshin? And also, any recommendations on what Stigma to use on the M slot? And while we are at it, who should I use to support Hot? I doubt I'd be lucky enough to pull AE, though I've got 40 more days to try Level 46 btw Thank you!
