Hey there, I'm Cassandra Jenkins and I put out a new album this year called An Overview on Phenomenal Nature. Happy 2022.
There are no stupid questions. Ask me everything! <3
Iβm talking about the entirety of DA2. The whole game is just Varric telling a story, but I never really got why he was being interrogated. Is it because Cass is looking to find out where Hawke is so they would lead the inquisition? The same goes for the hero of ferelden.
Which of these names do you prefer? Cassia (Cass - see - yah) or Cassandra?
Both yield the adorable nickname "Cassie".
Cassia is fresh and bright with wonderful floral/nature connotations. Cassandra is strong, powerful and regal.
They're both such lovely names. Which of them do you like best?
I recently watched the hit Netflix movie "Don't Look Up" and thought it was a pretty spot on example of the Cassandra Complex in action: some scientist discovers a comet that will wipe out all life on earth and she urges the leaders to take action but nearly everyone just brushes her off until it's too late. Anyways, I did a Google search on dealing with the Cassandra Complex and lo and behold, Aspergers/Autism appears in the results on the first (and many subsequent pages)!
I've lost count how many times I've had to deal with this throughout my life. It's especially bad at work when I realize that a bad outcome is looming (like a project is gonna become a failure) and I try to warn the managers but they all just gaslight or brush me off and when the adverse outcome happens, we're left to clean up the mess which further adds to the learned helplessness.
Anyone else find their lives riddled with instances of Cassandra's Complex? For some reason, Google seems to find this sort of experience very common among Aspies.
The joy of the sims in general is how people make the game their own. But I really want to understand why so many people pair Cassandra with Don. In my game he Leaves her at the altar and continues his playboy life while Cassandra marries Don. Iβm being light hearted but I just think Cassandra deserves so much better than a cheater and would love to know why people ship them together
Cassandra was a character in the Trojan War who could predict things and no one would believe, despite always being right in the end. She predicted what would happen before the war and it all came true.
As an autistic person, do you ever feel you can accurately predict things but no one ever believes you, despite it turning out the way you said over and over again? Does this drive you mad a little, as it did Cassandra?
Edit: to be clear, because apparently some people can't comprehend what is being asked, I don't mean being able to see the future like a psychic. I mean being able to predict things like a scientist because of things you know. Cassandra is a metaphor to predict accurately but never believed.
Hi!
What do the name nerds think about the name Cassandra? My partner likes it, and I like the sound of it, objectively.
However I canβt help think itβs very 80s/90s? I donβt know if the βSandraβ is throwing me off as I donβt know anyone under 40 with that name.
If you heard of someone calling a new baby Cassandra, would it seem odd to you? π
Iβm based in UK so donβt know if that makes a difference on popularity
I just finished my rewatch of the show and it struck me that I still donβt understand the Cassandra / Alice thing and whether theyβre the same person or not. Unless Iβve managed to miss a plot point, in its entirety, TWICE, then Iβm confused! Can anyone enlighten me?
the part that starts with "there was a frail syrup" etc..
the chord progressions, guitar tone, flute and vocal melodies are just so amazing to me, everything comes together so well.
definitely one of my favourite pieces of music
