A list of puns related to "Casey Nicholaw"
With the opening on The Prom last night, Nicholaw has four shows running on Broadway:
This seems like a huge number for a director to have four shows running at the same time. What are your thoughts on his directing?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
So it was announced a few months ago that Eric Idle, & Broadway choreographer Casey Nicholaw are bringing the stage hit βSpamalotβ to the big screen, and have big plans for it. At first, like many Monty Python fans, I have mixed feelings about it. However, as someone who has done the show & seen it many times, I have faith the musical can translate really well to film. So many people said Monty Python couldnβt work without the original six doing the show, but time & time again weβve seen that it can work, especially with the people behind it making it have a passion for what Python did so brilliantly. On top of that, Nicholaw choreographed the show with Mike Nichols (Yes, THE Mike Nichols) to win multiple Tony Awards, and it wouldnβt surprise me if Nicholaw learned a lot from working with Nichols over that time period.
The big question though, is in who to cast in what parts. The Broadway production had a wonderful cast of phenomenal actors with Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, Sara Ramirez, Hank Azaria, & Christian Borle. The show kept getting multiple great actors to do the show, so for the movie, there has to be a strong cast of people. One thing I do want to offer is where Python had the cast play multiple roles, I think we can put many different actors into these roles 1. As a tribute to Monty Python & the people they inspired & 2. Just to frontload this cast only for some big stars to only have like two minutes of screentime is just a super funny idea that could work perfectly. So letβs not waste any time, hereβs my choices for the cast of the film version of βSpamalotβ!
KING ARTHUR:
As much as I want to put Tim Curry here, his stroke unfortunately puts him in a position that he canβt do the role (I do have a place for him in this movie though.) So my top choices for the role would be:
Hugh Grant- Grant is a terrific actor, and his performance in Paddington 2 solidified that heβs my top choice for this role. His comedic timing is undeniable, & the idea of him playing King Arthur in a Monty Python project would be perfect.
Timothy Omundson- Thankfully, Omundson has recovered beautifully, (& since we wonβt ever get a revival of Galavantβ¦) Omundson is another choice to play a regal & defined king with all the wackiness surrounding it. I love him & he would nail this role for me.
Marc Evan Jackson- Shawn from βThe Good Placeβ anyone? (heh) Jackson is an underrated comedic genius. He could easily slip into this

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
