A list of puns related to "Off Off Broadway"
My dad left for a pack of cigarettes and gas 14 years ago and no one has seen him since.
There are traffic cones and road blocks blocking east-west traffic, and traffic cones in front of parking entries and drive thrus. Businesses are being blocked as well. What is happening?
Title is self-explanatory. Looking for small theater venues to see smaller shows. Also, if anyone knows the name of the bar where Berkeley students play at night I would appreciate it.
I literally waited in the cancellation line with a friends and they happened to have 2 seats next to each other that day. I have only stepped out of a theater and only been able to say βwowβ twice. This was one of those times. If you get any opportunity PLEASE see this amazing show!!! Itβs the best thing Iβve seen since moving to NYC. One of my favorite Sondheims is on full display.
In the city for the day and none of the shows I want to see (Company, Jersey Boys, all seems like I was a week too early) are open yet π₯² but I want to see something. Figured I would dip my toes into whatβs off-Broadway; was interested in The Visitor before I read reviewsβ¦ouch. Preferably nothing too long, was thinking of seeing Lehman Trilogy before I realized it was 3+ hours and Iβd miss my train lol
Edit: excluding LSOHβ¦sold out :(
Edit 2: got a good seat at Akimbo for $25! Thanks for the recs yβall!!
Hi Reddit,
I am Vitaly Beckman, an illusionist who fooled Penn & Teller twice on the CW's show Fool Us, with a recent episode being shot during the pandemic. I also traveled the world and had my own off Broadway run in NYC. I combine magic with art, creating and designing all of my own illusions.

Update:
Thank you so much for the great questions everyone! I really enjoyed this AMA and would love to do it again sometime in the future! Till then, stay safe and healthy, and have a wonderful day / night!
I'm in town photographing a conference... they want some general city shots too and I tried to get this area last night... but feel it would work way better at dusk. I don't think I'll have any evening at dusk free because of the dinners/after parties. If I wanted to try to shoot it at dawn.. so about 5:30 - 6 am... are the neons on all night till daylight or do they turn off when they close?
Going to look at cars but it reeks of burning rubber and there's a massive plume of smoke off to the south, at least 4 firetrucks just blew past. Anyone know what's on fire??
Iβm planning on going to the William Elliot Whitmore this month. I have never sat up in the balcony, always been on the floor up close to the stage for them as well as other bands at Off Broadway. But I am getting to the age where sitting and enjoying a show is more appealing than jostling for a place at the stage so I can put my beer down and be up close to the band.
Can anyone describe the different experiences on the floor vs balcony? Is it worth the extra $ for tickets? Iβve never been upstairs, is it all chairs/tables or also standing? I like the feeling of being close to the show and performers on the floor but I donβt think Iβm going to enjoy standing around for 3 hours.
This isnβt official, because I never saw the UK Bootleg for more ad-libs I should include by that time. Another reason is that the 2021 UK Tour might be what the future Broadway revival will be based on. This is all based on the 2017 version. This is also in honor of the filmβs 30th anniversary! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JI5hX5SDyk6FbDbM_cmIYHfbqdCNEUkg/view?usp=drivesdk
Did anyone else hear it last night?
Won lottery of another show so decide to give away the tickets. There are four available. I can meet you one hour before the show start at the Theatre at St Clements. Please DM me. Thanks
Bottom text. Grab your ciggies and your wine while ya can folks.
Not sure where exactly this happened but does anyone have details on the shooting that was heard from RiNo tonight?
I am going to be visiting over Labor Day weekend and was wondering if there are any off or off off Broadway shows running that would be worth trying to see.
I plan on seeing Hadestown but it doesnβt seem like the majority of Broadway shows will have resumed while I am there so was hoping to check out something to fill the gap.
Jane Wyatt was the actress who originally played Spock's mother, Amanda Grayson, opposite Mark Lenard, Spock's father Sarek in the original Star Trek series. Wikipedia mentions that early in her acting career:
> One of [Wyatt's] first jobs on Broadway was as understudy to Rose Hobart in a production of Trade Windsβa career move that cost her her listing in the New York Social Register (she later was relisted upon her marriage).
What's a social registerβis it some kind of club for rich people or something? How would someone get into the social register? Why was Wyatt on it in the first place, and why did her getting a Broadway part result in her getting removed from it? Why did her getting married restore her to the list?
